Do you have self-confidence? Has self-doubt caused you to question whether you are enough or worthy? You can eliminate self-doubt (or at least alleviate it) by using communication strategies to take action and improve self-confidence. Check out episode 231 with Debra Roberts and learn more communication skills for handling difficult conversations. Where does self-doubt come from? Self-doubt, which results in overthinking, comes from how we were brought up. Our upbringing continues to be part of us, we carry it with us. In addition, self-doubt comes from how we've been culturally conditioned in society. But not to fear, you can eliminate self-doubt if you take action to change your mindset. We are constantly underestimating ourselves. Comparison and imposter syndrome play a significant part in self-doubt. Women often underestimate themselves internally and sometimes misrepresent themselves externally. The power of your voice to improve self-confidence They may be exceptional leaders and experts but misrepresent themselves, for example, in their voice, they don't project their voice, they don't speak with conviction. Another example is upspeak, which is when you end a statement with a question mark. Doing so makes you appear less credible. Punctuation will also make a difference in how confident and credible you seem. For example, when you introduce yourself, say your name and pause before going on to add more details. To use your voice to improve self-confidence, record yourself or have a friend or coach evaluate with you. Speak with conviction, smile, and keep your voice light as well as projected. In addition, have vocal variety, change your volume, pitch, and pace so that you come across with more interest. Another important factor for credibility is the power of the pause. When you don't pause, you can seem nervous and out of control to the audience. This is important because people don't listen well to people who seem out of control. So pause occasionally. Your voice can make you more interesting. Using your voice also helps build an emotional connection and trust with your community and audience. Read the full show notes and access all links. in God We all experience moments in our lives where we lack confidence to say or do something. This is normal. Even to those who seem full of confidence. Knowledge and humility seem to be the things to prepare and practice to grow self confidence. What about confidence in something larger than yourself? Having confidence in God takes the same preparation and practice of knowledge and humility. Knowledge can be gained by the active reading and contemplation of the Bible. The Bible teaches the hope we have in salvation feeds our confidence to act in love toward God and our fellow man. We would love to hear from you! If you live in the US then the topic of gratitude and thankfulness has been bountiful in the past week. Yet in general, the end of the year and holiday season around the World can be a time for reflection and appreciation. As life slows down a little bit before we start all over again in a New Year, we often share our time with loved ones and have the opportunity to think about what matters most to us & the moments, events, and achievements thaata we feel the most grateful for from the commencing year. On this Divine Feminine solo episode I take a moment to focus on the experience of gratitude and share how I've found to have more authentic experiences of gratitude by noticing when a particular moment touches my heart & taking a pause to embrace it. I offer some ways to mindfully notice points of gratitude throughout your day, when looking back on your life, & even while connecting with past versions of yourself. I also encourage you to give a big round of applause to yourself & to keep in mind that the greatest amount of gratitude you can possess deserves to be directed right back at you. We've been in the practice of a tool called the three gates. First shared by Rumi, he said, "At the first gate, ask yourself, “Is it true?” At the second gate ask, “Is it necessary?” At the third gate ask, “Is it kind?” If our words pass through these gates, we can be assured that we are aligned with our Highest Self."Can I tell you, this practice is a tough one. Often we can get past the first gate, but the second and third is where Steve and I are stopped in our ego tracks and called towards greater self reflection. Sometimes our auto-pilot speech gets the better of us, but immediately we remember and remind one another of the gates. Other times, we are conscious and take what we wanted to say to each gate and either remain silent, or we look to rephrase or reword what we wanted to say. It's giving us even greater possibility to be and speak from our authentic selves as opposed to ego chatter. This tool is so damn good for your relationship with self, your intimate partner and children. Even when you're around friends and there's gossiping taking place, the three gates can be applied.JOIN THE WAITLIST!The ZEROFKS Program - how many fks are you willing to save for what truly matters? I'm tackling another big 'ol buzz topic in the Spiritual and Therapy Worlds these days; Codependency. It shows up in a lot of my episode titles because, well, it has a lot to do with what keeps most of us from standing fully in our Divine Feminine power and sovereignty. Codependency has many different definitions. The term originated from the realm and addiction & substance abuse. Patterns that were observed amongst families of addicts where the relationship between the identified addict and their family members consistently appeared to be one of entangled emotional dependence on one another. One being the enabler or fixer and the other needing to be saved. Hence the term Codependency was born describing when an individual has become reliant on someone else for their own emotional wellbeing. On this Identify & Heal solo episode, I further describe the nature and origins of codependency. I also illustrate what it can look like & how it can show up in our relationships with romantic partners, family members, co-workers, friends, even clients or our kids. Then I share ways that we can begin to release codependent tendencies to step further into our true Sovereign selves, experiencing full acceptance & love of ourselves free from attachments to others. In this episode, Cindy Esliger addresses one of the most essential components for achieving our dreams: believing in ourselves. It's a far easier thing to say than do, however, especially when we're just getting started. But other people do believe in us and Cindy's advice is to borrow the belief others have to combat our own self-doubt.Borrowing the belief others have in us means focusing on the support we receive from those who know us best. Surrounding ourselves with people who see our potential can counteract our feelings of inadequacy and imposter syndrome. The goal is to foster our own sense of self-awareness, Cindy says, and to use that as a stepping stone for reliance on our own skills. Cindy shares three tips for borrowing the belief others have in us: 1. Recognize and accept positive feedback, 2. Use positive affirmations, and 3. Take action. She explains how to identify the people who genuinely support us, elicit their feedback, and ways to internalize their beliefs and build confidence in ourselves. Cindy lays this path out in six steps, directing us to act on self-confidence and avoid pitfalls as we do. This episode is key to cultivating the self-belief we need to realize career success. 307 An Analogy For Happiness In today's environment that is so rife with the use of social media it can be both bewildering and disconcerting to not know what is or isn't manufactured for content, as well as the perceived obligation to have to participate in social media. Although both overwhelming and exciting one must always remember to have their values at heart and to put forth what you want in the world while also keeping in mind how to support your friends and family online. In this episode Sarah Elkins and AJ Kumar discuss how social media has impacted our perceptions of the world as well as our interpersonal relationships. AJ brings an insightful and warm perspective to the conversation, while also sharing his joy of learning and trying new things, and how these experiences have brought him to where he is today. Highlights We are all multifaceted. You can't just give up and stop learning. Be cautious of the attention you invite into your life and how you return that attention. Think about what story you want people to tell about you. Quotes “Earth is a school, life is a school, like you're always learning something and you're always trying to learn something from the past because if you don't learn stuff from the past then you end up repeating that mistake until you learn that, and once you can learn that and extract something from it then you move forward.” “It's blurred, you can't tell what's real and what's fake an d that's a concern. People could use that negatively, it's hard to say, it's like any tool, somebody can use it to build a house or knock someone over the head with it. I think that's the place we're at now in society where how are you wielding this attention that you're getting? Are you using it to harm people or are you using it to help people?” “It's all about understanding people's problems, trying to be in their shoes the best you can, and then helping them solve it.” Dear Listeners it is now your turn, What will you take on as an adult to help you process information in a way that's different than how you're doing it now? AJ decided to pick up a rubix cube and was able to figure out all kinds of analogies for his work just by playing with a rubix cube. For me I like to go on a hike, I always find that since I have such cerebral work sometimes I need to just get outside and allow my brain a little time to focus on something outside of myself in nature. So what will you do, and how will you find your creativity within that puzzle or that hike or maybe it's a snuggle with a pup. Whatever it is, find it, find your analogy for happiness at work and at home and I hope to hear from you. And, as always, thank you for listening. Mentioned in this Episode Caroline Brookfield The Reluctant Creative About AJ Aj Kumar, the “Digital Maestro,” is the founder of The Limitless Company, a studio system for influencers. AJ and his team are on a mission to help entrepreneurs in the Creator Economy build for-profit human-healing brands. About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available! Included with your purchase are two bonus tracks, songs recorded by Sarah's band, Spare Change, in her living room in Montana. Be sure to check out the Storytelling For Professionals Course as well to make sure you nail that next interview!

Something as simple as seeing the same recurring numbers over and over again everywhere (we call them Angel numbers, always good to look up the meaning of the specific numbers you're seeing) or seeing a message on a billboard that seems to answer the exact question you were contemplating in your mind. Or it could be something that really stuns you. Something that feels like it is almost completely impossible and unexplainable. So great of a coincidence that it stops you in your tracks. Yet this is the Universe and guides from the Spirit realm's way of telling you, pay attention! Signs are everywhere and we are guiding you and supporting you all the time. And that you're heading in the right direction. On this Divine Feminine solo episode I delve into the sweet waters of synchronicity. Sharing some of my favorite experiences of it and my understanding of why it occurs, what it means, and how you can begin to open yourself to synchronicities in your life. When all the meditating, yoga-ing, journaling, exercising, walking and everything else you have in your toolkit just isn't cutting it, here's one of my go-to's. Sometimes, I just don't have the energy or gusto to "do the work" and basic-bitching is where it's at. Eat, move body, do what's needed, sleep, repeat. Plus, I say this little prayer in the mornings to the forces at be. There are moments where you gotta let go and know that letting go is in fact part of "the work". Truth is a very vast concept. Yet, what is truth exactly? It could be described as that which is fully and accurately expressed, unaltered or obstructed. That being the case, do you know the truth of You? Many people spend their lives running from or avoiding their truth. Either it's too brutal to face or too hard to figure out for ourselves. So instead we latch onto other's established truths, ideas, beliefs, and paths and keep our personal truth hidden. Yet is it possible to be our fully actualized & expressed self if we don't own our truth? Check in with what feels true for you to find the answer to that.On this Identify & Heal solo episode, I offer some ideas about why finding, owning, & honoring our truth is so important & holds the key to the transformation of ourselves & Humanity as a whole. How discovering truth can help us in healing trauma, feeling a great sense of freedom, releasing the need to fall in line with what everyone else might say or think, and bringing forth your own amazing light. When this week's guest, author Patricia Crisafulli, and I first got on a call together she expressed that she wasn't quite sure if she would be the right fit for my audience. She wondered if Creative Fiction was "spiritual" enough for the show. After all of 30 seconds talking we both decided, of course it is! What could be more Spiritual than Divine Creation of stories, ideas, and expressions of the Human experience? Patricia believes that stories – all stories – hold deep truths. They're the “myths of meaning” for our own time. As we capture, polish, share, and retell our stories, we find layers of new meaning. They don't have to be autobiographical to show us either our current world-view or an alternate world-view. On this episode Patricia shares some unique concepts from her journey as a creative writer including writing as an act of faith & why we have to find the courage – and give ourselves the permission – to believe deeply in ourselves and the importance of our stories. How the writer's path is one of rejection – and redirection. It's simply part of the process. And how we all need to find ways to become empowered – not defeated – as we face, process, and ultimately move beyond the “no” and reach the “yes.”Join the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c You can learn more about Patricia & find her books here:Patricia Crisafulli is an award-winning writer and a New York Times bestselling author. 306 The Escape of A Good Book Following the theme of art and how it inspires us, this week is writing. We have all picked up a book that shaped us in one way or another, and maybe we're still looking for that next book capable of bringing us comfort and escape from our busy lives. In this episode Sarah Elkins and Adina Edelman discuss the importance of how writing impacts us and how working with authors has given Adina the opportunity to read and contribute to these works of art. Highlights Keep on trying, especially when you fail. Even if there is a failure you can still turn it into something better, even if it wasn't the original idea you had. Make sure when you help someone that you are uplifting their voice and not replacing it with your own. Quotes “You've got to keep on trying it, and even to walk in with that sort of expectation that it is a process and it's okay if things go wrong, and there will be elements in there that both need improvement, but you know the batter still tasted good. There was still something working there, there are going to be pros and cons at each stage.” “There are so many analogies with music and writing they just pop up everywhere, as for how it comes into play with working with my clients, well one thing is that just like there's rhythm in music and so many different ways to play with notes to bring about a certain experience, that's the same thing with writing. So that sort of melodic tendency in writing in order to pick that up and use that when I'm editing, so you know you could say that they are two separate things but it also could be that they are related.” Dear Listeners it is now your turn, I know it's hard to take the time to pick up a book and read, and what I'm finding is that the more I meet these authors the more I want to dive into their books. So maybe the next thing for you to do if you want to read more is don't feel like you have to read nonfiction, read something that lights you up, read something that helps you get away from the reality of the world for just a little bit, that gives you a break from it, and those middle grade books are often a great escape from reality, and maybe it's time to reach out and join a book club and find something that you can really enjoy. I have some friends that are struggling to connect with other people and they're living in communities that they don't feel connected to and everytime I recommend they find the local library and find a book club, because if you want to meet people that are of like heart and not necessarily of like mind, the library is a great place to do it. And, as always, thank you for listening. Writers and Books mentioned in this episode Judy Blume Joan Bauer The Inkheart Series by Cornelia Funke Peter and The Star Catchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson The Charles de la Forêt Series by Phillip L. Adina has worked on over 90 books, and she's edited for Gatekeeper Press, Mosaica Press, Israel Bookshop, Menucha Publishers, and more.

You are never alone. This statement is a sacred truth. One I was reminded of last week when the owner of an Air bnb where I was staying told me that a Spirit presence of mine was communicating with him. They were wanting him to tell me that they are always with me, love me, and believe in my abilities. The guides and angels that surround us through this lifetime want to help us. They want us to have the things we dream of, the peace we long for, and the happiness & fulfillment that we deserve. Yet they can offer all the inspiration and guidance possible and if we don't open ourselves to listen and receive it, then it only falls away without our awareness. So how can we begin to ask for and receive this form of Divine Feminine communication? On this Divine Feminine solo episode, I share some more updates from the road (including the Spirit guide channeling experience at the Air bnb) and I offer steps and suggestions for connecting with your Angels & Spirit Guides, opening yourself to receive their messages, & to know how & where to find them.Join the Women Waken Community on Instagram Here: https://tinyurl.com/522duz2c Feel free to reach out to me to see how we can work together and send your questions, feedback, and requests for future solo episodes here: Whitney Walker, LMFTLicense # 107082www.WomenWaken.comhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/profi...Whitney@WomenWaken.comIG: @WomenwakenYoutube: @womenwaken
