[English follows]「空気を読む」という独特の日本のコミュニケーション。あなたは、思っていることを全て言葉にする、あるいは多くを言わずに相手の理解に任せる、どちらのタイプでしょうか。異なるコミュニケーションスタイルを知っておくことがなぜ大切なのか、日本、マレーシア、他の国を例にあげて話します。Taking “reading the air” or reading between lines in Japanese culture as an example, we talk about high and low context communication style, which is important to learn when you communicate with people across different cultures.

(Guest: Koichi from Japan) [English follows] マレーシアのファミマではトムヤムクン出汁のおでんが人気でドリアンの棒アイスが美味しいらしい！日本のお店（ファミリマートと無印良品）がどのようにマレーシアでローカライズされているのか、シンの夏休みマレーシア帰省体験談です。How are Japan made stores localized in Malaysia? Shin, who went back to Malaysia, shares his experience of finding the Japanese convenience store "Famima" localizing its products to fit the local people's tastes. He also found the Japanese retail shop "Muji" exporting not only its products but also styles and culture.

[English follows] 使っても良い言葉とそうでない言葉は誰が決めるのでしょうか？私たちも知らない間に、We（私たち＝第一言語として話す人）とOthers（他者＝その言語を学ぶ人）の間に壁を作っているかもしれません。Have you ever told someone or been told by someone that certain language is okay or not okay to use? In this episode, Shin and Aina discuss gate-keeping of the language and the concept of we (e.g., "native speakers") and others (e.g., "language learners") of language use.

[English follows] 職業や、第一人称、言葉遣いなど身近な言葉について言葉とジェンダーという目線から話します。In this episode, Shin and Aina talk about gender-neutral terms for job titles, first-person pronouns, and the ways in which people are expected to speak based on their genders.

The last time, he shared his story about traveling across the world. With him currently living in Japan, we share our own perspectives toward the Japanese society and share our opinion about certain invisible deep-rooted rules (or what Simon calls "eco-system") that support the circulation of the society.

We talk about one of the most commonly-stated characteristics of Japan; punctuation, and how she lives her life in the local community and learns the Japanese language!

With him, we will share how we became interested in English or the language per se.
