The Shanghai Masters exhibition matches gave us more game film on Choisehwan, MYKaylee, and other incoming rookies like Kaneki and Shy. Check in for analysis on each of these rookies as well as some returning veterans with a lot to prove: Architect and Leave.
The Hunters and Spark are loading up on talented rookies. Main tank Ga9a and flex support Farway1987 are joining the hunters while Lige will be splitting time with Bernar on the Spark's flex tank duties. Listen in to learn about these up and coming rookies.
I’m changing things up for the show! This week is a short show breaking down the play of the new Guangzhou Charge DPS players MYKaylee and ChoiSehwan. Pairing up with Eileen, this DPS lineup is one of our big question marks for the year, so listen in for a breakdown of their play in Contenders China and Korea. This will be a tough situation to solve this season for Fantasy, but I’m giving it a try.
Been keeping up with Contenders? Yeah, I didn't think so. In case you're behind on your "Support T2 Duties", you've got this show to keep you up to speed on top rookie talent. This episode focuses on top talent in NA (lul), EU, and China. We've got some names you've heard an probably some you haven't. Listen up to stay on top of the top rookie talent getting signed to OWL.
@Kylethewynner from @Blatckwatchreprt watches more Contenders than you, so listen up as he shares his top players in Contenders following the Korean Finals. Before rosters settle, find out who we like the best, who could have a fantasy impact in season 4, and who to watch out for as North America and Europe continue their playoffs.
Can't have a Fantasy Overwatch Podcast without a season 3 recap. Host @dhulky joins up with @joshdageek and @theosalaun from @HNP_FOWLPLAY to settle a bet on waffles and recap the year of Fantasy. Enjoy this kickoff to some bi-weekly offseason episodes.
Guest @notrob from THE Strategy Overwatch podcast @OmnicLab joins the show today to break down the compositions and play styles of the Florida Mayhem vs. Los Angeles Valiant matchups and the New York Excelsior vs. the Hangzhou Spark. With the second week of the same hero pools, we take a step back to assess the standard Ashe/Widow & Tracer meta while also breaking down some Genji and Doomfist appearances. You're sure to learn a thing or two from Rob!
The first week back from the May Melee did not disappoint - we were privileged to see Sparkle's OWL debut and Haksal's return to play, neither of which disappointed. Catch my thoughts on Kevster's impact for fantasy followed by a recap of every match this last weekend. OWL is back, Fantasty Underground is back - let's goooo!
Waivers, Buy Low Candidates, and Match Recaps. You know the drill by now. If you haven't listened yet, I bet you ain't starting now. If you're continuing to listen... thanks for coming back. Solo show this week so buckle up, get comfortable, and try not to fall asleep.
@Dhulky goes solo this week with a detailed recap of teams we saw for the first time including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Seoul. Listen in for some detailed game film review with a strong leaning towards fantasy impact.
A new way to play fantasy Overwatch AND a stacked week of Overwatch League! I give some advice on Draftbuff’s new “Draft Royale” for weekend long fantasy matchups. @FliedLice comes on before that to talk betting odds and matchups, which leads into my outlook on picking players for the week for Draftbuff’s first week of Draft Royales. Good to be back after a short OWL hiatus – let’s gooooooo!
We try to venture out and get a little bit smarter this week. Overwatch Contenders coach @maid_ow who has some fantastic OWL vod reviews on his Twitch channel maidoverwatch lends his coaching experience to tell us a little bit about how he thinks about hero pools, playtime situations, and parsing good players from good coaching. Overall, less bad fantasy advice and more learning about Overwatch this week!
@esportsBrock who writes for @TGHesports brings his Boston Uprising expertise to breakdown the Houston vs. Boston fantasy monster of a match. As we suffer through more match delays, Brock and dhulky also share which players they're comfortable cutting vs. who they're holding on to.
@TheoSalaun aka Tepojama from @HNP_FOWLPlay joins @dhulky to briefly recap week 2, but with it being a shorter week, we also discuss how to address Fury's benching in Philadelphia, what to do with your captain/utility slot, and some trends/opportunities to jump on in the near future, like buying low on Mei players just before hero pools. @TheoSalaun has some of the best advice Fantasy Overwatch has to offer - you won't want to miss this one!
@Edanaroverwatch, the Edgelord himself, from @owlbythenumbers joins as a guest to let us know where we as a Fantasy community made some good predictions and where we may have to admit we didn't. Find out what results we believe in and which ones we need to collect more data points as we wait and see what happens.
It's time for Week One Waiver Wire - @dhulky has written an article on highnoon.gg with the top 12 waiver wire players for week one and covers them in more detail on this episode. They're here early this week to help you beat your league mates to the waiver wire. Edanar from OWL by the numbers will be on this Thursday so stay tuned for more content this week!
We've got some tips for Day one of Daily Fantasy on Fantasy OWL (fantasyowl.com) value plays, solid plays at their price, player to avoid, and some interesting longshots for the first day.
The offseason is finally over! To prepare, @dhulky has a shorter episode covering recent news from Hero Pools to how Coronavirus impacts the season to the Dallas Fuel signing Crimzo. Dhulky also covers 5 of his "Flag Players" he's taking a stand on and recommending for the year.
It's time to put some money on the table, quit yapping, and make a bold call or two. Guest @ramses_OW from OWL by the Numbers and Push the Point podcasts comes on the show to discuss where he has some big differences on where specific players are ranked and we take a stance. Also, in the intro I give a heads up on some free draft day consulting and a listener league, so please reach out to me on @dhulky on Twitter or dhulky#4783 on Discord if you want to join on either opportunity!
@Volamel finishes what @Yiska started last week to finish the discussion on close position battles. Volamel imparts his wisdom on who may start at support for Chengdu, exploring just how much Cr0ng will improve the Charge, and how Fits is an underrated player. We discuss these and more as we figure out more tough calls in a last effort to finalize fantasy rankings.
@Yiskaout, writer for @GGintel, talks with host @dhulky about tough calls and position battles. While Yiska does not play Fantasy Overwatch yet, he brings his knowledge of individual players and teams like only he can to help us figure out the finer details on rosters. How will the Shock rotate DPS? Will Saebyeolbe play much for NYXL? We cover the Shock, Outlaws, Titans, Hunters, Defiant, and Excelsior, but we get straight to the good stuff!
