James encourages us to be joyful in trials. He is not saying our trials will be joyful - but the experience of learning and growing from them should be that of joy. How do we do this and who is James and why are we studying it?
As soon as many of us reach puberty and find ourselves attracted to the opposite sex we automatically assume we should get into relationship. Denying relationships early in life however can be the best thing for the health of your relationship later.
You are meant to control ‘self’ - your ‘self’ was not meant to control you. AND You are called to deny your ‘self’ - your ‘self’ is not called to deny you.
We will all at some point or another run into the barrier or 'religion' and the only way we will get over it is through relationship. That is what this one is about.
Throughout Mark - we see the phrase "kingdom of God" used a total of 14 times. What does Jesus mean by this kingdom? and when is this kingdom? This message answers these questions and shows that the kingdom of God is not a future reality but a very present one - here and now.
We are all sinners. Whether you agree with that or not - we are. Think of a time when you failed to meet a moral standard you set for yourself - you missed the mark. We all do - it is our human condition. And do to that condition we need a solution. By the grace of God - He has - Jesus Christ. Check it out!
