The miracle of God becoming human is amazing and unique to Christianity. In his incarnation, Jesus added full humanity to his full deity and entered into his creation. Light entered the darkness! It's important to recognize that Jesus is both 100% God and simultaneously 100% human. He doesn't switch between modes, but his two natures are eternally joined in his one person. Theologically this is described as the "hypostatic union." Jesus becomes human so that we can see the Father (and know exactly what God is like), see what humanity was created to be, and see who we are invited to become in Christ.

Show Us Your Face, O Lord Today's Gospel and Homily reflect on Christ's compassion and mission during Advent. Jesus travels through villages teaching, proclaiming the Kingdom, and healing every disease. Seeing the crowds “like sheep without a shepherd,” He sends His disciples to proclaim the nearness of God's Kingdom and to heal freely, just as they have freely received. Lord, Show Us Your Face The Homily then explores Advent's longing: “Lord, show us your face and we shall be saved.” This desire runs through Scripture and finds its fulfillment in the nativity, when God literally shows His face in Christ. Isaiah's prophecies reveal the coming Savior as both shoot from the stump of Jesse and root of Jesse . . . the One who appears in time yet is the eternal source of all life. Only such a divine Savior can heal humanity's deepest wound: separation from God. Christ's ministry continues this revelation . . . He shows God's face through mercy, healing, and compassion. The disciples, having been generously formed and blessed, are sent to extend that same generosity to the world. Advent, therefore, is not passive waiting but active mission: receiving Christ, becoming Christlike, and bringing His healing and hope to those who are lost. Spencer Cox says accused shooter Tyler Robinson isn't cooperating, but the Washington Post found Discord messages where Robinson admitted to the shooting hours before his arrest. FBI Director Kash Patel revealed Robinson had also suggested his plans in texts and a now-destroyed note. Investigators describe him as politically radicalized against Kirk, though he has no criminal record and was still in trade school. Meanwhile, VP JD Vance guest-hosted The Charlie Kirk Show from his White House office, joined by Tucker Carlson, Stephen Miller, and others. Miller went full scorched-earth, calling left-wing groups a “domestic terrorist movement” that the government would dismantle “in Charlie's name.” In other news, Trump wants companies to ditch quarterly earnings reports, the U.S. and China reached a tentative TikTok sale deal ahead of tomorrow's deadline, and the Trump administration plans to destroy $10M worth of contraceptives intended for low-income countries despite global offers to take them.
