As per one of the three hosts is away this week (Marshall in his Scottish homeland). In the meantime Jo and Lotte discuss how crystal meth lead to the rise and ultimate fall of the Nazis, Jo's recent cinema binge and catch up with former comrade James Creber in "Letters From the New World".
This week Jo finally returns from his travels and regales the audience with tales of far flung lands including a discovery he made in the home town of Marco Polo. Marshall tells us about the basic requirements of life in the universe and some surprising elements present in the human body! Jo discovers that there way be a way of getting rid of rats without killing them. Also Mini Motos are discussed.
Due to the absence of his co hosts Marshall goes solo and records from home! During his solitary rants he goes into detail about the notorious Crowborough Carnival (or what some thought might resemble a Klan rally). He also lets us know about how trains changed the concept of time forever
After saying farewell to James Creber and wishing him well on his travels to the New World (by recalling his most embarrassing tales) we welcome new superstar host Lotte. We talk about Dinosaurs, a man who built a Cathedral and ALS in Life is Amazing. We get an update from El Rojo himself in "letters from the New World". We also introduce Lotte to the show by putting her through a challenge that listeners to LNN in the Leicester days will remember.
This week we say farewell to our beloved cohost James Creber who departed for South America on an epic voyage. We regale listeners of our favourite tales of his, as well as bringing you reviews of modern classic movie Almost Famous and bring to light tales of historic anti-Semitism in genuine literary classic Ivanhoe.
Jo couldn't make the show as he was assaulted by a Frenchman earlier in the week, so James and Marshall discuss discrimination against Gingers
All three of the Late Night Niche gang are reunited as James brings an eye opening investigation into the Chinese economy in Life is Amazing. Jo tells us about the latest Disney flick Zootropolis, there is a mammoth review of Iggy Pop's most recent record Post Pop Depression, and Marshall gives us an update on three classic novels he's halfway through. You won't want to miss it.
Things escalate fairly quickly from Cultural Review round table discussion to a test of masculinity.
This week the boys review Deadpool, introduce a new caption competition with a prize you won't see coming and intended to reflect on Russian Literature but an on air drinking game had (in hindsight) obvious effects on their organisational ability.
A presenter is struck down by illness yet again, so Jo and Marshall take the reins giving the verdict on Quentin Tarantino's eighth film (coincidentally named the Hateful Eight) and War and Peace, the novel cause Marshall doesn't mess around with silly television adaptations. Whilst Life is Amazing informs us about a terrifying curse on the cast of a well loved TV show and why you might want to stop eating so much fast food.
With Marshall struck down by man flu (or a so called "chest infection") Jo and James provide a mini Oscars Round Up with The Revenant, The Danish Girl and Room featuring. James reviews Bill Ryder Jones' new album West Kirby County Primary and Marshall is reached through a magical device during Life is Amazing to discuss the remarkable qualities of lobsters and a new way to examine epidemics.
The Niche goes mainstream when Jo and James review Star Wars whilst Marshall keeps us grounded by finding the deeper meaning in Kurt Cobain's fart noises. Plus a very special opening.
Late Night Niche continues on Shoreditch Radio with Jo's turn to pick pop song of the week, plus reviews of Miles Davis' Dark Magus and Steve Jobs plus our regular Life is Amazing featuring the scientific discoveries of Mathieu Flamini and the power of modern medicine.
The Late Night Niche gang make their glorious return to Shoreditch Radio, with new feature Pop Song of the Week, reviews of Sicario and God Only Knows, several stories to confirm that Life is indeed Amazing and as always the music that you probably don't know but will love.
