Will the tourism boom accompanying the back-to-back 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics be too much of a good thing for Brazil to bear? From an emerald tropical isle to an ancient port to the hillside favelas and spectacular stadiums of Rio, citizens and experts describe the environmental and social challenges and opportunities in balancing green and gold.

A short documentary, produced by the Media, Communications and Visual Arts students, about the residents of Magdalena Bay, Mexico, working to balance economic advancement with environmental protection and striving to create a better life both for the community and endangered sea turtles.

In the film students in the award-winning Pace University course "Producing the Documentary" highlight the unseen issues within the cork industry in Portugal. The students wrote, filmed and produced the entire project, traveling to Porto, Coruche & Lisbon to research and film. The film makes the connection between cork harvested for wine bottles, a source of livelihood for 100,000 people, and the forests that are repositories for wildlife across Southern Europe and parts of North Africa. In this documentary, "Linda Thornton: Seeking Sustainability, One Shrimp at a Time," a team of Pace University student filmmakers explore the life of a resilient, pioneering aquaculture entrepreneur as she pushes the frontiers of sustainable shrimp farming in Belize. Helping with this year's production was New York Times Dot Earth blogger Andrew Revkin, Senior Fellow for Environmental Understanding at the Pace Academy for Applied Environmental Studies.
