For years, it has been Reggie's belief that so many people are in an identity crisis -- people simply do not know who their authentic selves. Many are taught who to be, what to enjoy, where they should go, and more; few have come out of who others think they should be and embrace who they actually are. So Reggie invited life coach and founder of S.E.L.F.I.E. Check by Jas, Jasmine Lafayette, to enlighten and empower viewers and listeners to boldly and comfortably walk in their true identity.
Horacia Broadway-Burks stops by the podcast room to talk in detail about her youth organization, The Promise Christian Dance Academy. She and Reggie discuss her beginning story, the importance and the impact of having a youth-centered Christian arts academy, her future visions for PCDA, and her new book entitled: The Rainbow Lady.
When most people hear about an "absent parent", they picture a parent who is not actively physical in his or her child's life. Absentee parents are not only those who are physically absent, but also those who may be physically present and not emotionally and socially. This fact reared its head during 2020, and it was by Reggie when he stopped by "The Awakening with Shontal Bettis-Brown" podcast. Because of time, he declared the mention to be a "conversation for another"; so he has brought Shontal and her sister, Willishia (who was also a guest on The Awakening that day), to continue with a conversation on In-House Absentee Parenting.
Ahhhh!! It's time for SEASON 3 of OPEN VAULT!! And Reggie is back with his shenanigans. For his opening episode, he discusses a few news stories that he's seen while on break that have caused a bit of uproar with seemingly everyone...well, everyone except for Reggie. So he tries to shine a different light on these "crimes" in a way that only Reggie Whitley can.
Welcome back for part 2 of Write Your Vision: 2021!! During week one, we looked at ourselves. During week two, we looked at our factors. And today during week three, we're looking at our connections. I didn't trust myself to handle this week well alone, so I brought in some help. First guest of Season 2!! Lol. All the way from The Awakening, Shontal Bettis-Brown took time out from preparing for her upcoming season to swing by and help a brother out. Enjoy.
Welcome back!! Here's part 2 with numbers 4 - 6 of the key areas to create your vision for 2021!
First of All, Happy New Year!! During January, we'll be going through the 12 areas of vision for 2021. Vision is perhaps the single, most important spiritual force that shapes both our entire life and our entire world. By it, lives are enhanced, purpose is actualized and potential is maximized. It is vital that, for 2021, we gain sight of that which we hope to see in our lives, in our endeavours, in our legacy and more. Join Reggie for part 1 of 4 of Write Your Vision.
At this point, he's just here for a good time. Reggie's true colors are showing in today's episode, and we're not so sure that's a good thing. Hence then title. Lol. All he said that he was doing this week was his "See the Light" segment to highlight some good news stories; all he had was one job. Now, we're not saying that he failed. But we're not saying that he succeeded either. Join Reggie in episode 3 as he discusses some of the headlines that caught his eye and gives his goals for the next 4 episodes of Open Vault.
Okay, Reggie's back for real this time. And he's reliving a few of the key points from his event, Open Vault: Empowerment Talks. There were so many amazing pointers given during last week's event, but Reggie wanted to air a few of his favorites before each session is taken off of YouTube and stored in "the vault". Then, he gives a few tips on how to "keep the fire burning" as it pertains to staying motivated and inspired to live purposefully as we prepare to go into 2021.
He's baaaack!! (Sorta, Kinda, Not Really) Season 2 of O.V. kicks off with Reggie hopping in to say "Hello" before turning it over to guest host -- author, Samone Allen.
"Since I have to do this thing called 'life', I may as well have fun while doing it, do it with others, and master it together." This philosophy as lead Reggie to create "Reggie Whitley Podcast Network" -- a network of podcasts with different hosts to work together to change lives, and ultimately the world. Reggie is excited to introduce the first additional podcast to his network: The Awakening with Shontal Bettis-Brown. Join Shontal for the next 10 weeks as she and guests bring us The Awakening.
Season 1 Season Finale!!! Where did the time go? We're already at the season finale of the Open Vault Podcast. Instead of having a plan for this final episode, Reggie just "wings it". He discusses a couple of his favorite Wisdom Pieces from episodes 1 - 9, then goes on to discuss the future of this podcast platform. Also, Reggie has brought on a surprise guest co-host. Listen as they discuss a number of things (including a surprise announcement) and have several laughs as Season 1 comes to an end.
Listen... Season 1 is coming to an end and Reggie seems to have gotten a little lazy. Under 20 minutes?? This episode was a struggle. First, Reggie's guests had to cancel because of conflicts of schedule; then, he struggled to figure out what he'd discuss. Well, instead of dwelling on the struggle of it, he decided to "See the Light". In this episode, Reggie gives three good news stories in his "See the Light" segment. It's just us today; and next week -- the finale.
Did you know that, according to statistics, about 20 people experience physical domestic abuse every minute in the United States? One in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical domestic violence in one form or another. The number of individuals who experience emotional domestic abuse -- unfathomable. Today's episode features Jessica Bolden-Cross, a two-time domestic violence relationship survivor, and Felecia Thomas, a 23-year employee of a multi-county domestic abuse center. Jessica shares her story for the first time and gives first-hand descriptions of going from a physically violent relationship with one individual to an emotionally and physically violent marriage with another individual. Jessica shares intimate details (while protecting the identities of those involved), including how not leaving her domestic violence relationship nearly landed her in prison for 25 years. Felecia gives valuable tips, strategies, and resources that abused men and women can utilize to receive help while in a violent relationship of any sort, and to help the abused persons escape the abuser. Until recently, Reggie hated the term "New Norms" as it relates to the current pandemic to the point where friends were not allowed to say it around him without correction. It seemed so cliché; and deep down inside, he hoped that what he (and millions of others) has been experiencing was not the new normal. The night before recording with his guests, Reggie had an "ah-ha" moment: This IS a new norm because it's been our reality since early spring. Luckily, the very next day was recording day with today's guests Ivory Justin Simmons, Valerie Dean, and Crystal Bradley -- a 4 in 1 combo. How well are each of them adjusting to modern living? Listen, learn, and enjoy!
Hey, you're back! A little background: When Reggie first decide to launch Open Vault, he knew that this was a topic that HAD to be discussed. So on recording day with Carolyn Leslie, he had plentyyyy that he wanted to discuss. Of course, it was too much for one episode; so Reggie and Carolyn are BACK for part two of this conversation. We can't say it enough: This discussion in not to pinpoint any particular church and/or pastor. This discussion is an issue seen across America (at the least) that must be discussed. Enjoy (and be healed)!
When God created the church, He had only good intentions. Somewhere down the line, corruption crept in and was left unresolved -- leaving the church (as a "body") tainted. There are countless examples and stories from millions to back the fact that integrity has left the church. And for too long, things have gone unsaid or simply unheard. In an attempt to see integral restoration in the spiritual assembly, Reggie has called on Carolyn Leslie to discuss ails that have been seen across America (at the least). Hopefully, they can help someone (be it a church leader or attendee) become free of the corruption in God's assembly. You may want to run your bath water now, because things are about to get messy. Disclaimer: This discussion in not to pinpoint any particular church and/or pastor. This discussion is an issue seen across America (at the least) that must be discussed. Enjoy (and be delivered)!
Yep, you read that right. Open Vault, we have our first co-host -- Reggie's friend, Shontal Bettis-Brown. Reggie didn't want to interview Shontal with questions and a set topic; instead, he just wanted to bring a normal conversation (normal for them) to the podcast. And that raggedy enemy came in and tried to stop the podcast early, but he can't get any glory on Open Vault so they pushed through. Reggie and Shontal talked about the death of their bishop, Bishop James Greenleaf, children going back to school during the pandemic, longggg church services, and more. And since Reggie had a co-host (and not a guest), he brought back the "See the Light" segment with two great stories.
Whew! Episode 3 — Did someone say “guest”? Ya’ll… we have our first guest! Reggie sits down (virtually) with author and speaker, Zoë Davis, as they discuss relationships, as well as the process and necessity of moving on from past relationships. Moving on from both romantic and platonic relationships can be a challenging task, both physically and mentally. In this discussion, Zoë gives us "wisdom pieces" that she has used in her life and relationships.
Welcome to Season One: Episode Twoooooo!!! It seems like Reggie is getting the hang of this podcasting thing already. In episode 2, he gave 7 facts about himself that you may or may not have already known. Not in a self-centered type of way, but in a "let's get to know each other since you're stuck with me" type of way. Then he kind of slid into an inspirational piece to get you to stop caring about... Well, just take a listen!
My first podcast!! Listen as I discuss why I've chosen to create this platform and tell a little about myself.
First of all, HI!! I’m excited to be launching Season 1 of Open Vault with Reggie Whitley. Join me on 07/27/2020 for our first episode!
