The sneaker industry has a problem and it's the lack of identity in the community. Everyones a hypebeast. Lets discuss!
What if the biggest problem facing men today isn't a lack of discipline, ambition, or opportunity? What if it's that most men don't actually know who they are? In this episode of The Super Human Life, Frank Rich sits down with Tim Couet, author of Identity Assignment, to unpack why so many men are winning externally while still feeling lost internally. Tim believes two issues sit underneath much of the chaos men experience today: Identity and priorities. Rather than building your identity around career, money, status, performance, or achievement, Tim argues that a man's identity has already been assigned by God. Using Genesis 2:15 as the foundation, Tim explains why the biblical assignment of man can be summarized in two words: Serve. Protect. From there, Frank and Tim explore what happens when a man begins living from that identity—and what happens when his priorities fall out of alignment. They discuss marriage, fatherhood, work, lust, pornography, achievement, the modern church, the loss of initiation into manhood, and why the thing many men are ultimately chasing may not actually be more success. It may be peace. In This Episode, You'll Learn Why identity and priorities are two of the biggest issues facing men today Why men often confuse what they do with who they are What Genesis 2:15 reveals about the assignment of men Why Tim believes men are called to serve and protect How work quietly becomes the highest priority for many men Why trust in marriage is rebuilt through evidence and consistency How identity can change a man's relationship with lust and women Why you cannot simply achieve your way out of internal struggles The difference between being a biological male and becoming a mature man Where the modern church may be falling short in developing men Why young men need intentional initiation into adulthood Why many men are chasing achievement when what they really want is peace How this framework applies to married men, single men, fathers, and men rebuilding their lives Why Jesus is the ultimate example of both a servant and protector About Tim Couet Tim Couet is the author of Identity Assignment and founder of Prodigal Man, a ministry focused on helping men understand their identity in Christ and become the leaders God has called them to be. He also hosts Altar'd Manhood and Mentoring Christian Men Worldwide. Tim and his wife, Mettina, have been married for more than 17 years and have four children. He currently serves as the Chief Deputy Tax Collector of Pasco County, Florida and is actively involved in men's ministry at Grace Family Church. Mary welcomes back premier apologist J. Warner Wallace to talk about our identity in Christ, and our identity in Christ in – America. He enjoys asking his audiences questions like ” Why Are You a Christian?” and “Why Aren’t You a Christian?”. The answers to those simple questions tell him and us a lot about the state of the church today. Our identity is everything. In Christ it’s “received, not achieved”. But in the culture it might be based on your identity politics, your social, economic and educational status, or your appearance – and a host of other qualifiers. In Christ, we already should know who we are based on Who He is, and that should set the stage for everything we say and do. Does it? Why is the church having an identity crisis then, because the Bible tells us all about Whom we worship and how to live. But we are so busy deconstructing, taking dominion, and worrying about who is in charge of the world that we just forget who we are and what the church is for. And then there is social media where we are all grappling to state and defend our own identity. A full hour of reasoning together on the church’s identity crisis here in 2026. On Q&A Friday, Todd examines the WNBA's response to former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White declaring eligibility for its draft and argues that the league's inability to define who qualifies for women's competition exposes a deeper conflict between objective biology and progressive ideology. He discusses the competitive consequences of admitting biological men into women's sports, traces how preferred pronouns and nonbinary language moved from college campuses into mainstream institutions, and revisits a 1987 Saturday Night Live sketch to show how dramatically cultural assumptions have shifted. Todd closes by outlining the WNBA's available policy choices and predicting that league officials will preserve ambiguity while quietly blocking the players rather than adopt a clear biological-sex eligibility rule.

Links Your Mission Aligned, nonprofit coaching services Discover Identity, nonprofit retreats Watch the video and share your thoughts in the Zion Lab community Transcript available with the video in the Zion Lab community Highlights Alan and Marianne Downing discuss the concept of identity and its significance in personal development and leadership within the Latter-day Saint community. They emphasize the importance of understanding one’s identity beyond roles and societal expectations, particularly during life transitions. Key Insights Identity Exploration: The fundamental question of “Who am I?” is central to personal growth. Identity is not static; it evolves through life experiences and transitions, such as changes in church callings or family dynamics. Deeper Understanding: True identity goes beyond titles like “mother” or “bishop.” It involves understanding personal values, beliefs, and what makes each individual unique. Belonging vs. Fitting In: There is a distinction between belonging (sharing core beliefs) and fitting in (conforming to external expectations). Leaders should encourage individuality within the community to enhance unity. Risk and Growth: Personal growth often requires taking risks and stepping outside comfort zones. Experiences, such as retreats, can facilitate deeper understanding and wisdom. Mature vs. Immature Identity: Immature identity relies on external validation, while mature identity is anchored in self-awareness and allows for flexibility and growth. Leadership Applications Encourage Individuality: Leaders can foster an environment where members feel safe to express their unique identities, which can enhance community strength and diversity. Facilitate Experiences: Organizing smaller group discussions or experiential learning opportunities can help members explore their identities and support each other through personal challenges. Model Vulnerability: Leaders should be open about their own identity journeys, demonstrating that it is acceptable to question and explore one’s faith and personal growth, thereby creating a culture of openness and support. 00:05:07 – The Concept of Identity 00:06:40 – Exploring Identity Beyond Roles 00:08:07 – The Depth of Identity in the Gospel 00:09:32 – The Paradox of Identity and Individuality 00:10:29 – Navigating Group Identity vs. Individual Identity 00:12:28 – Personal Experiences with Identity 00:15:00 – The Downings’ Journey into Identity Work 00:18:01 – The Importance of Self-Discovery 00:20:40 – The Role of Experience in Identity Formation 00:24:40 – The Balance of Self and God's Expectations 00:26:41 – Mature vs. Immature Identity 00:30:12 – The Role of Risk in Growth 00:32:15 – Experiential Learning and Retreats 00:34:22 – The Need for Community in Personal Growth 00:36:47 – The Importance of Anchors in Identity 00:39:14 – Embracing the Journey of Identity The award-winning Leading Saints Podcast is one of the top independent Latter-day Saints podcasts as part of nonprofit Leading Saints’ mission to help Latter-day Saints be better prepared to lead. In this deeply personal episode of The Breaking Free Podcast, I sit down with my cousin, Josh, to share a story that many people silently relate to, but few openly talk about. From the outside, Josh appeared to be living the dream, playing the sport he loved. Behind closed doors, however, he was battling feelings of being trapped, unhappy, and disconnected from himself. After making the difficult decision to walk away from football, Josh faced one of the hardest chapters of his life. Losing his sense of identity led to binge eating, declining mental health, and questioning his purpose. But this wasn't the end of his story. Josh opens up about how committing to an Ironman 70.3 became more than just a physical challenge, it became a catalyst for rebuilding his confidence, mindset, and direction in life. Together, we explore the importance of vulnerability, changing negative self-talk, building healthier habits, finding gratitude, and asking for help when life feels overwhelming. This conversation is a reminder that your darkest chapter doesn't have to become your final chapter. In this episode: Josh's hidden mental health battle Walking away from football Losing identity and purpose Binge eating and emotional struggles Building resilience through Ironman training Reframing negative self-talk Gratitude and mindset The importance of asking for help Supporting men's mental health Finding purpose after adversity If this conversation resonates with you, share it with someone who might need to hear it. Colleges and universities are under pressure to prove their value as they navigate enrollment challenges, affordability concerns, student retention, and changing expectations around the campus experience. In this episode of the I Hear Design podcast, host Robert Nieminen speaks with Martin Kimmel, founding principal and chief creative officer of Kimmel Architecture, about how the physical campus can help institutions clarify who they are and why students should choose them. Kimmel discusses what a higher ed “identity crisis” looks like from an architect's perspective, how buildings can either reinforce or dilute an institution's mission, and why campus design should align with recruitment, retention, wellness, belonging, and long-term value. The conversation also explores the evolving role of libraries as student-success hubs, the importance of designing spaces where students can feel “alone together,” and how colleges can achieve meaningful transformation through extraordinary solutions for ordinary budgets.
A Muslim caller joins Marquett to challenge his criticism of Islam's historical connection to slavery—but what begins as a respectful disagreement quickly becomes an intense debate over religion, evidence, identity, and accountability.Marquett questions whether atrocities committed for centuries by people who identified as Muslim can simply be dismissed by saying, “They weren't real Muslims.” The conversation expands into the trans-Saharan slave trade, the Quran, Arabic translations, religious certainty, terrorism, African history, monotheism, and why some Black Americans adopt belief systems rooted outside their ancestral cultures. Can someone claim complete knowledge of a sacred text without reading its original language? ProjectME with Tiffany Carter – Entrepreneurship & Millionaire Mindset
Are you having an identity crisis... or are you finally becoming the person you've been praying for? If you've been questioning everything lately, feeling disconnected from your old goals, struggling to make money the way you used to, or wondering why your business suddenly feels harder than ever... this episode is for you. The truth is, you're not confused. You're not lazy. And you're not losing your mind. You're in the middle of an identity shift. In this episode, Tiffany Carter breaks down why so many entrepreneurs unknowingly resist becoming the very version of themselves that's capable of creating the life, business, money, and freedom they want. Your subconscious brain is wired to protect your current identity—even when that identity is keeping you exhausted, overworking, undercharging, procrastinating, or playing small. Tiffany explains what's happening through the lens of neuroscience, psychology, subconscious programming, and identity transformation, so you can finally understand why this season feels so uncomfortable... and what to do instead. If you've felt like you're living between two versions of yourself, this conversation will help you stop fighting the process and start becoming the person your next level requires. Whether you're building a business, trying to make more money, healing your relationship with success, or simply feeling called into a completely new chapter of your life, this episode will help you understand why this season feels so uncomfortable, and why that's actually a very good sign.
Brian Armstrong changed his profile picture to a memecoin. It pumped to thirty million. Ten thousand wallets piled in. Less than twenty-four hours later, he changed it back — and every one of those wallets felt it.That one move cracked open the week's biggest debate: what should Coinbase and Base actually be for? And what does it mean that Robinhood's new L2 — launched three weeks ago, supposedly for tokenized stocks — already has five hundred million in memecoin volume versus thirteen million in RWAs?This week on The Defiant, Camila Russo sits down with three guests who can't agree on anything — and that's exactly why this conversation works.Austin Campbell (Zero Knowledge / NYU Stern) says Base's behavior was both an intellectual and moral failing — memecoins are gambling, and Coinbase can't build payment infrastructure while promoting gambling to young people at the same time. Jason Yanowitz (Blockworks) says the strategy is closer to right than people admit, and the real problem is execution, not direction. Michael Lee (LienFi), a Base builder since day one, says Armstrong's PFP move caused real damage — but mercenary traders have also paid twenty million dollars to creators on Base, and nobody else is stepping in to do that.School bus. Rocket ship. Same company. That's the problem.Guests: Austin Campbell (Zero Knowledge / NYU Stern) | Jason Yanowitz (Blockworks) | Michael Lee (LienFi) Topics: Memecoins, Coinbase, Base, Robinhood L2, content coins, Brian Armstrong, crypto regulation, everything exchange
⇢ WATCH ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/c5cc6d9gOw8 Monica vulnerably shares her story of the identity shift she's been moving through since becoming a mum, including months of nothing feeling right; grieving her signature program, Queen Alchemy, and her highly successful 3-day event, The Immersion; and how she stayed in the discomfort of the unknown instead of hurrying to figure it out. If you're in a season of not knowing—whether that's post-baby, post-burnout, or just post-whoever you used to be—this episode will give you permission to stop forcing an answer that isn't ready yet. We got intellectually swole on creatine and astrology before this great episode! The main science topic was a study connecting carb oxidation to hydration status. We explain how hydration is the gateway to fueling. We also provided details of the first week of David's creatine experiment. There is some very strange heart rate data that we're tracking. Correlation or causation? We'll find out!And this one was full of fun topics! Other topics: bailing on workouts on bicarb days, how runners should think about improving bike power, tons of thoughts from the Tour de France including the massive power numbers and a follow-up on overnight drug testing, AI in mathematics, a fantastic article in JAMA on tendon healing, and questions on dealing with an identity crisis in athletics, stairmill v. biking, a listener passionate about oysters, a grooming tip, Malcolm Gladwell, stoppage time in runs, and low iron levels. You'll never look at Cheez-Its the same. Licensed clinical social worker Tracey Willingham (aka That Hormone Girl) joins the show to talk about the piece most hormone content skips entirely, identity. After 25 years in healthcare, Tracey brings a mapping approach to hormone health that looks at your whole ecosystem, not just your symptoms. We get into why perimenopause feels like a second puberty nobody warned you about, why the medical system keeps failing women who show up with real data, and why you have every right to fire a doctor who won't listen. In this episode we explore:Why hormone health isn't just physical, and how identity, mental health, and support systems all factor into the full picturePerimenopause as a second puberty, and why there's so little cultural roadmap for itThe pattern of walking into a doctor's office prepared and still being dismissed, and what to do about itWhy HRT alone doesn't fix everything when chronic stress hasn't been addressedTracey's top strategies for showing up to your next appointment ready to advocate for yourselfTracey Willingham is a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of That Hormone Girl. For 25 years she worked in healthcare, and she brings that clinical training to a space that badly needs it. She's less interested in supplements and protocols, and more interested in the parts most hormone content skips: how to function compassionately while your body is changing, how to advocate for yourself when a doctor dismisses you, and how to stop chasing the woman you used to be and support the one who exists right now. She works with women through difficult cycles, perimenopause, and surgical menopause, and she does it with a voice she'd describe as part sassy and part classy.Resources:Visit Tracey's WebsiteTHG Everything PageFollow Tracey on InstagramListen to That's Not Very Ladylike PodcastCheck out her Membership Lean more about Mira. Paul Kelly speaks to political editor Tom McIlroy about his new book on the turbulent era of the Liberal party under prime ministers Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison. In The Twilight of Exceptionalism, Kelly writes about how the Liberal leadership changed hands from a conservative, to a progressive and then a transactional centrist. The Australian's editor at large argues that this period demonstrated the party was fractured over its values and confused about its identity in a changing world

Identity. It goes to the core of who we understand ourselves to be. From it flows our purpose in life, our values, our very reason to live. My identity as a husband, second only to my identity as a child of God, is not more. That sacred role and responsibility ended in the blink of an eye.
