All of Scripture can be said to contain God's two words: Law and Gospel. The importance of distinguishing these two words from God is vital to the preaching, teaching and understanding the truths of scripture. Mixing God's Law and Gospel can cause the self-righteous to believe that they are without sin and the broken in sprit to be burdened without any hope of good news.
