This week Scott and Dave meet to discuss a topic on most people's minds... interest rates! The cost of living has never been so high and it's all because of INFLATION. This episode discusses how inflation started, what we can do to control it and most importantly how we should think about investing in this high interest rate environment! From a health perspective, the lads discuss the powerful effect of placebo and how paying more for pain medication can be more successful in reducing pain than the cheaper alternatives!
Scott and Dave meet to chat all about posture, but first Scott wants to give a tip on his new favourite credit card! This episode discusses the misconception that bad posture leads to pain, as research shows no definitive link between the two. In fact, other variables such as fear of movement and stress correlate far more strongly with pain than posture does! Instead, we learn to focus more on the 'next posture being the best posture', encouraging frequent and varied movement, and keeping an eye out for obvious asymmetries and any drastic changes in our daily positions.
Dave and Scott introduce their new podcast "Seek Professional Help" where they aim to educate each other and debunk myths in the fields of finance and health/fitness. They share some common myths in their respective industries, such as the belief that the stock market always goes up and that running causes arthritis. They also debunk the myth that more risk equals more return in finance, and explain that K-Tape is actually ineffective for anything other than providing a protective barrier to the skin. Finally, they discuss the myth that it's a great time to buy when the market is down, highlighting that while there may be some good bargains, not all companies will recover.
