James is a film and theatre buff (nerd perhaps?) and is a romantic at heart and so what better way to reintroduce guests back to the SFF fold than with someone who basically likes the same things as Dobbie and Drew! S05E01 - Return of the Throbbing GristleHere it is, S05E01 of the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast! Its been just shy of two whole years since the SFF partners in audio crime, Dobbie and Drew, last released an episode of SFF into the ether - but they're back and with a new (and hopefully more manageable) format. At the start of the month Dobbie and Drew will do a shorter one on one pod where one of them brings a past, present of future joy to talk about and then towards the end of the month, a guest will join them to bring a past, present and future joy, just like the SFF podcast you know and love. This episode is a brief reminder of the journey so far (or an introduction to those of you who haven't tuned in to the previous four series! S04E06 - Natalie DurkinHere it is, S04 E06 of the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast! Its that time again - Drew has been fishing on Twitter and what a catch! The wonderful Natalie Durkin replied to a call out for guests and the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast returns to closing a series with someone neither Dobbie nor Drew knew in advance of recording. Natalie brought with her three things that bring her joy, the first of which played right into Drew's favorite subject (after Star Trek that is...) and is a timely reminder of someone who would have had a special birthday this year... S03 E06 - Ann MillsHere it is, S03 E06 of the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast! Another series finale is upon us, but Dobbie and Drew are breaking with a two series long tradition and NOT speaking to a stranger this time round! Its often said that there's stuff on the cutting room floor, but its certainly not hyperbole for S03E02 - Adam's story and joys are inspirational and Dobbie and Drew couldn't resist the love in when it was their turn to speak! Thankfully, 14 episodes into the podcast, Dobbie is getting better at keeping the Guest and their joys front and centre. Its not unusual on the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast to start with some tragedy or life event that, when overcome, sets a guest on a path towards deeper joy in life and so it should be no surprise to hear Adam give a frank and emotive recollection of a time in the not too distant past that was a physical and mental low point in his life. The S02 finale as come round fast and Dobbie and Drew are finishing another series with another guest not known to either of them. This time though there is a twist, S02E06's guest is the first Sunshine, Freedom and Flower's Podcast recommendation! S02 E03 - David SavageHere it is, S02 E03 of the Sunshine, Freedom and Flowers podcast! This is another longer that usual episode - but the shared history of Dobbie, Drew and David meant that, the first joy at least, was discussed longer than usual and Dobbie had a job on his hands editing it down! Luckily it meant the stuff about Musical Theatre HAD to go... which has nothing to do with his theatrical preferences... honest...S02 E03 was recorded on 22.03.21 via zoom and the audio reflects this at times. Another conversation full of laughter and not so much a trip down memory but a full expedition, 80 Days Around the World style trip into a shared history brought up by David's past joy - you can technically blame David and his friends for Dobbie and Drew ever meeting!
