Her interest in training stemmed from a desire to break away from the all-or-nothing thinking that was prevalent in the fitness world, but in her early days as a trainer, Jen still struggled with persistent messaging that smaller is better and ideas about "good" vs "bad" foods. Through years of working with many different humans, growing to understand a variety of unique physiologies and life struggles, while also working to undo the physical damage the diet culture mindset had done to her own body as a runner, Jen's fitness philosophy continued to evolve. Now, with over a decade of training experience, on top of her growth as a wife, mother, and a runner, Jen is on a mission to help everyone realize their own personal definition of Fit, Healthy, and Happy.

I am delighted to share this imperfectly perfect conversation with Dr Alison Raby who is Senior Lecturer in Business Communication/College Senior Tutor/Programme Leader at the University of Lincoln. I reached out to Alison after reading her article about international students and how best to support them when they first arrive in the UK. Why do we want international students to assimilate and to fit in? How do we ensure international students thrive and flourish in our UK Universities? We cover so much in this episode and if you are interested in the internationalisation of universities, I think this episode is for you.

When you are excited about something, how do you show up?Do you wear excitement and passion on your sleeve for all to see? Maybe your personality is more low-key and strategic, and it is less obvious when you're really excited about an idea, a vision, or being a part of something.Or maybe you adapt and edit yourself, muting your responses to play it cool for fear you won't be taken seriously. Yes, it's essential to consider your role, environment, and audience when you feel energized about something. But if we're constantly focused on who we should be, how we should act, and what the right thing to say is, it's hard to have hope and a vision for the future. Meg Raby Klinghoffer does not feel weighed down by messages about playing it cool and downplaying her excitement and joy anymore. She is emphatically all in with helping others envision how the spaces where we live, work, and play can be inclusive for those with invisible disabilities. She is becoming a contagion to create spaces where we can all be welcome and feel comfortable being ourselves, from concerts to museums to schools and beyond.Meg is the author of the My Brother Otto series, a Speech-Language Pathologist, a writer for Scary Mommy, and a full-time employee of KultureCity, the nation's leading nonprofit in sensory inclusion. She is also autistic. At any given moment, Meg is thinking about how to better love the humans around her and how to create positive change without causing division.Listen to the full episode to hear:How receiving an autism diagnosis and owning that identity has allowed Meg to advocate for herself more freelyHow to respectfully approach learning more about and supporting the autistic adults in your lifeHow having an autistic community helped Meg let go of old rules and embrace her identityHow KultureCity addresses the need for macro-level change to make spaces more supportive and inclusiveMeg's vision for moving beyond awareness or acceptance to true inclusionLearn more about Meg Raby Klinghoffer:KultureCityScary MommyInstagram: @author.meg.rabyLearn more about Rebecca:rebeccaching.comWork With RebeccaSign up for the weekly Unburdened Leader EmailResources:Somebody's Daughter: A Memoir, Ashley C FordKamala Harris and the Threat of a Woman's Laugh - Sophie Gilbert, The AtlanticWe're Not Broken: Changing the Autism Conversation, Eric GarciaYung PuebloPost Malone - Hollywood's BleedingLauren Daigle - Rescue3 Body ProblemThe Jacksons: An American Dream
The Rush Hour Melbourne Catch Up - 105.1 Triple M Melbourne - James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless
After celebrating the genius of the late, great Richard Marsland, Billy starts us off with the All Sports Report - and some good news for Melbourne cricket fans. Big Boy Ben McEvoy jumps on the phone from his tractor in Joel South to talk about the AFL's Emergency Services Game between Hawthorn and Richmond on Sunday. Topics Brayshaw is in the house with "Why The Hell?", then Jack from Elwood has a crack at $10k with Guernsey Cash. We're painting a mural for BT and we need your help, and JB is adamant that we'll be playing Billy and Raby's alleged interview with darts phenom Luke Littler. A-League Legend Archie Thompson is in studio to chat round-ball and the Fred Hollows Foundation, we want you to join us at the Sporting Globe in Bye Week, and Billy has a joke with some late fruit to finish us off. It's funny how life changes and with that so do our priorities. What was important to you 5 or 10 years ago may have little to no significance to you today. In a lot of ways, that's what can make life exciting. Trying new things, exploring new spaces and learning new skills can be so rewarding. On this episode of Just In Stride I moved through the journey of elite distance runner and now triathlete, Arianne Raby.Arianne was born to run. She ran in soccer, then in school and even earned a scholarship to continue running. We spoke about the success she had once she finished school, battling through a knee injury and even how she balances training being a new mom. But what was even more interesting was how triathlon has brought out the excitement for endurance sports in Arianne again, something she had lost after a lifetime of running.Arianne Raby

Christine Raby, Founder of DeliverDelight, brings the heat in this episode where we cover off a very wide range of topics - some CS related and some non-CS related. Christine's background is absolutely fascinating and I've been a fan of her presence both on LinkedIn and TikTok for quite some time now. This episode is full of practical examples and advice for both ICs and leaders alike as we talked about:How CS is now experiencing similar maturation to what marketing experienced a decade+ agoLeaders need to be super focused on the benchmarks and metrics vs. how they ‘feel' things are goingThe opinions of whether CS should own revenue or not is completely irrelevant as the goals are similar, the team should be united and therefore measured (and compensated) on the same/or similar metricsHyper-personalization together with client success stories is a powerful combination for New Logos and expansion alike (N&E)Test your "ways of working" in an unscalable manner first and then figure out how to automate & scale it upAI is a tool - not a replacement for you role - it needs to be leveraged in order to help you get out of reactive mode and into proactively growing your accountCurrent state of startup economics and how that relates to Customer Success within these businessesThe trend towards de-centralizing CS into a strategy instead of just an orgTaking lessons from B2CTransitioning PS from a cost center to a revenue centerEquality and Equity in the workplaceLike I said, a wide variety of topics. Attachment In this podcast episode, hosts Deborah Lindner and Liz Rivera engage in a profound discussion with Dr. Lee Raby, a distinguished expert in attachment research from the University of Utah. The focal point is the critical role attachment plays in the development of children within the foster care system. The conversation kicks off by outlining the distinctions between love and attachment, emphasizing attachment's significance, particularly in foster care environments. Dr. Raby describes attachment as a fundamental instinct, rooted in a child's biological need for care and security. Dr. Raby addresses the complexities of attachment in foster care. The discussion sheds light on how children, even those exposed to maltreatment, form attachments that may be insecure or disorganized. The signs of insecure attachment, such as resistance to comfort, are explored, providing crucial insights for foster parents. Dr. Raby also delves into the challenges associated with multiple attachments in foster care, emphasizing the emotional toll on children transitioning between caregivers. Foster parents are encouraged to be mindful of their attachment styles and expectations, fostering a nuanced understanding of the child's needs. The hosts touch upon available resources for foster parents, including in-service classes and trauma-informed care programs. Dr. Raby concludes with indispensable advice, and urges foster parents to consistently and appropriately meet a child's attachment needs. This episode serves as a valuable guide for foster parents, highlighting the important role of secure connections in promoting the well-being and resilience of children. Ongoing education is vital. We invite foster parents to actively engage with available resources for a more informed and compassionate approach. Today's guests, Keri Raby and Jessica Gomez, talk about the transitional housing program Keri started a few years ago.
This Episode is a rebroadcast of Episode 030 with Tony Dunne and Fiona Raby, preceded and amended with various explications and questions posed to the Chesterbot container of the conversation's semantics. **Speculative Design Practice** Tony Dunne and Fiona Raby's design practice has evolved over time. Initially focused on conceptual models, they now also create prototypes. They find models give more creative freedom. Their work with complex technologies like biotech led them to embrace fiction and modeling. The term 'speculative design' emerged from their critical design work engaging science and tech. They value fiction for its own sake, not just for discussing the future or selling concepts. **Teaching Speculative Design** Dunne and Raby direct the Design Reality Studio at Parsons, teaching posthumanism, quantum theory and designed realities. They collaborate with faculty and choose their own research. They are writing a book on new ideas and approaches in design. **Interdisciplinarity and Collaboration** Dunne, Raby and Bleecker value letting disciplines interact in surprising ways while retaining disciplinary roots. Bleecker proposes a 'general seminar' where diverse people make sense of ideas together, as Dunne and Raby have long practiced. They hope design, science, tech and industry collaborate more, though science and tech currently do so more than design. **Representing Imagined Futures** They aim to represent imagined futures expanding beyond the typical narrow range. They explore 'impossible objects' and how constraints limit collective imagination. **Recognition and Validation** Dunne and Raby were delighted to receive the Royal Designers for Industry award, valuing its recognition of their trajectory, not just current work. They appreciate the range of practices recognized. Bleecker sees it as validating their creative practice.

Murderville, Texas just ended its nine-episode season, casting significant doubt on whether a man on death row for the 1992 murder of a Houston grandmother is actually guilty. This week on Intercepted: Intercept Senior Editor Andrea Jones speaks with Jordan Smith and Liliana Segura, the reporters behind the investigative podcast, about what happened after the murder of 72-year-old Edna Franklin.Relying on a hunch from one of her grandsons, police had a suspect — and an arrest warrant — within 24 hours: a family friend named Charles Raby, 22, who had been released from prison two months earlier. Raby was prosecuted on the basis of a single powerful piece of evidence: a confession he gave to police four days after the murder. After a brief trial in which his attorneys called no witnesses, Raby was found guilty by a Harris County jury. He was sentenced to death. Today Raby maintains his innocence. Smith and Segura break down shoddy police work, questionable confessions, and whether the state went after the wrong man. join.theintercept.com/donate/now See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

My guests in this episode are the design practice known as Dunne & Raby, Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby. They continue to be pioneers at the vanguard of design practice with a particular emphasis on speculative design, and the use of design as a medium to stimulate discussion and debate amongst designers, industry and the public about the social, cultural and ethical implications of existing and emerging technologies. They are the authors of several books on the topic, most recently "Speculative Everything" and a long-awaited reprint of their seminal book "Hertzian Tales". In our discussion they allude to a forthcoming book as well. http://dunneandraby.co.uk/ https://www.designedrealities.org/ Hey! Please consider supporting this podcast! This might be our favorite episode so far! Is it because Brandon and Jack brought some amazing coffee samples to the podcast studio? Partly, but we also had a blast sitting down with Brandon, owner of the Espresso Shoppe in North Platte and his son Jack. We're big fans of coffee around here and this duo did not disappoint. We learned a latte about coffee, roasting beans, and brew techniques. Check out this episode to learn more about what the amazing Espresso Shoppe has to offer, located in the Historic Canteen District in North Platte. If you enjoyed the episode, please leave us a 5-star review on your streaming app and our facebook page.
