Well, it has come to this. Syndicated bids farewell for the time being with a long-awaited discussion of critical (and panel) favorite, LOST. This island drama set the standard for modern sci-fi on television, and introduced viewers to a type of storytelling they'd never seen before. This episode, we have Luke and Andy on the panel, returning champion Jonathan Metts (Box Office Poison, Austinmates, Discover Music Project) and Crosstawk fearless leader Karl Casteneda (Box Office Poison, A Force To Remember, Rough Draft). For Jonny, this was his first time watching LOST. For the rest of us, we were visiting an old friend. We'll be back someday, when you least expect it. Travel back in time with your trust TV watching friends Andy, Luke, Neal and Nathan as we look at the beloved 1999 comedy Freaks and Geeks. This show has become legendary over the years for a number of reasons, not the least of which is its cast: Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Linda Cardelini, James Franco, and more, all before they truly became stars. We dive into the 18 episodes on offer to see if the Apatow origin story still holds up. Stay after the closing theme music for a special annoucement about the future of the show.

Although perhaps inconsistent, we are not yet idle. Syndicated, the TV podcast for the lapsed viewer takes a look this week at True Detective, the first season of the HBO critically acclaimed anthology series. It's here... the beginning of the end. Mad Men draws to a close in just two more weeks, but we're giving it a proper eulogy by covering Season 7 (Part One) of the beloved AMC drama. We've finally broken tradition; rather than cover the beginning of this modern TV classic, we've decided to cover the ending.  Right now as we post this, Mad Men is mid-run through their final seven-episode run, and to celebrate we're covering the 1.5 seasons that came immediately prior. We've reached the end of our odyssey. Through 30 episodes we've laughed, we've cried, we've screamed, and we've scratched our heads.  Andy, Luke and Nathan come back for a third and final discussion to wrap up the second season of Twin Peaks, covering episodes 14 to the bitter end.  After that, we discuss the theoretical (and apparently now very unlikely) 2016 Showtime revival of the series, and our impression of the series as a whole.   Thanks for coming along on this adventure.  It's been wild.  Next up on Syndicated, we'll discuss season six of Mad Men.

Diane, it's been two weeks since I checked in about Syndicated, a podcast for the lapsed viewer, by the lapsed viewer.  Things got pretty intense in the interim; we found out about a mysterious black lodge, and the killer of one Laura Palmer became apparent.  I think things are just starting to get interesting. Each Syndicated host has picked their first show (Friday Night Lights, Veronica Mars, Fringe, and House of Cards) and so it's time for the first "bonus round" episode of Syndicated.  In these special episodes, we will open up the floor to a listener submission, or perhaps return to a previously covered show to look at later seasons. This time around, we welcome the host of Crosstawk's own Discover Music Project, and co-host of Box Office Poison, Jonathan Metts.  Jonny has brought the Netflix distributed, BBC-originated show "Derek" to the panel, and so we spend an hour talking about this lovely little piece of kindess.  Do we all love the show as much as Jonny?  Hard to say!
