RHLSTP #593 - Polyamorous Regrets - Richard has come to the Bewdley Festival, but isn't sure the town (that he'd never heard of til he got here) should be so proud of their Prime Ministerial connections. His guest is the Edinburgh Comedy Prize winner Sam Nicoresti. They discuss Sam being heckled by Herring Junior during the 2025 Fringe (and who is to blame for that), how winning the award will pay for Sam's wedding, the possible reasons that so many older comedians seem to have jumped on the anti-trans bandwagon and whether the most embarrassing thing about this is how hack their jokes are, why Rich ran out of Sam's gig, the utterly unthreatening nature of Sam's audience, how Sam is able to tell stories that highlight the horrible stuff that trans people have to deal with, whilst being self-aware enough to mock her own foolishness and also some fun ghost stories (and sorry that you get to hear the Ernie ghost story again, but you can always fast forward). Plus it's the first gig Rich has ever done where the action is being relayed on screen for the audience. Near the end of "The Shawshank Redemption," escaped prisoner Andy Dufresne writes to his friend Red: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." But earlier, Red had warned Andy differently: "Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane." Two perspectives on hope. One life-giving, one destructive. Which is right? Please join us for this classic episode of Naked Bible Podcast: Episode 90: Lake of FireThis episode examines judgment themes in Revelation and 1 Enoch, where bound "stars of heaven" (1 Enoch 21:3) are described as transgressing angelic beings, directly paralleling Job 38's "stars of God" as divine entities. This episode discusses why hellfire in the New Testament is associated with “the devil and his angels" (Matt 25:41). Where does that idea come from? There are in fact earlier books that are the basis for this language—inside and outside the Old Testament.

This episode is fueled by the fans, breaking down how these moments may reshape the endgame of Stranger Things Season 5 and why “Sorcerer” could be the most important chapter yet. In cancer research, the “seed and soil” hypothesis posits that the tumor is like a seed of misbehaving cells taking root in the body. Whether it grows—and where it grows—depends on the conditions, or soil. Since this hypothesis was proposed more than 100 years ago, most research and treatments have focused on the seed, or tumor. For nearly 50 years, Rakesh Jain has been studying the soil. But in a seed-focused field, his work was seen as wasteful and radical. Now, that very same research has led to seven FDA-approved treatments for diseases including lung and liver cancer, and earned him a National Medal of Science in 2016. Host Flora Lichtman talks with Jain about how his fringe idea led to lifesaving cancer treatments. Guest: Dr. Rakesh K. Jain studies the biology of tumors at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as a professor of radiation oncology.Transcripts for each episode are available within 1-3 days at sciencefriday.com. This week's show is sixth in a series called Democracy Propaganda, and it focuses on the techniques and tactics developed from the work of Sigmund Freud, his nephew, the father of Public Relations Edward Bernays, and Walter Lippmann and proceeding Psychoanalysts and PR Propagandists. It will show how the Wilson administration formed a group called The Committee On Public Information to trick the non-interventionist American public into their sacrifice in a war that had nothing to do with them. This domestic propaganda dept used every means necessary, and hired big business PR men to form various ways to essentially brain wash the minds of the public and so, the war to end all wars, became the war that began eternal war. As Lippman put it, the quest for "World Democracy" began and its all been downhill ever since. We'll also look at numerous authors along the way, and talk about the study of group behaviors, psychological warfare, and the quest to learn how to control the minds of the masses. Thanks for checking out Ep. 215 the 26th episode in the Those We Don't Speak Of series! In this cut, we dive deeply into the belief in Judaism that the Torah has endless meanings and can be interpreted to fit the wants and goals of those who believe this. I take numerous quotes from rabbis and Jewish authors who confirm it and discuss the possible problems with this kind of thinking. Now, time to go deep down the rabbit hole, far beyond the mainstream!
