RHLSTP #584 - Eleven Holes? - It's approaching the end of the Fringe (for Rich at least) and his guest is, I think we can all agree, at least his equal as a ventriloquist, Nina Conti. They talk about her fantastic new independent film, Sunlight, how it's a dark love story about a suicidal man, a woman in a monkey suit and an attempt to dig up a grave to recover a $20,000 dollar watch, but so much more than that. How the idea and the real life love began in the middle of a 50 hour improv session, the dangers of going under water in a monkey suit, how the film might appeal to Furries, how it could never be written by AI and why you should definitely see it. Plus how Nina ended up in Spinal Tap 2 and a good indication of why Richard didn't, how ventriloquist dummies become their own people (or monkeys), the dark past of ventriloquists and whether Nina resents her monkey.Nina's directorial debut film 'Sunlight' will have a UK theatrical release from 18th October 2025 (screening details here), or you can pre-order it on Apple TV here (UK) and here (Ireland) - available digitally from 28th November 2025.Nina Conti has a UK tour extension of her hit live show 'Whose Face Is It Anyway?' from 30th September - 30th October 2025. Ryan Mauro of the Capital Research Center and Joseph Vazquez of MRC Business discuss the “Open Society Foundations” and how they have supported a violent far-left fringe, including terrorists both foreign and domestic.

George Bernard Shaw said, “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” Communication is tricky. On one hand, we are all communicating something, verbal or non-verbal at all times. On the other hand, I think most of us have significant room to grow in this area. I think most communication issues arise not from things said, but from things unsaid. It's one of the biggest heartbreaks for fans of sci-fi and fantasy TV: a show that begins so strong… only to crash and burn by the finale. In this episode, Jim runs through his Top 10 SFF TV Series That Ended Badly—shows he loved early on, but by the end, left him frustrated and disappointed. From Star Trek: Enterprise to Game of Thrones, from Heroes to Fringe, these are the ones that stumbled across the finish line. Some ended too soon, some went on way too long, and some just lost their magic. What about you? Which shows would you put on a list like this? For most of us, reading the Old Testament is not fun. All of those names and laws are difficult to read and are the reason many who have tried reading the Bible from cover to cover often fail once they get to Leviticus. Those books do serve a purpose, though, and today we'll explore that. It's a bit of a deep dive, but because the laws are so misunderstood by today's culture, it's important we take the time to explore this fully. RHLSTP #582 - Talent and a Half - Rich has had some troubles in his cheap Edinburgh accommodation, but at least it's his dad's birthday. Why is Richard such an idiot? His guest is star (5th tier) of series 20 of Taskmaster, Ania Magliano. They talk about how she skipped school to be in a short film and her troubles with a more recent film appearance. Plus podcasting with your partner or your family, the punk early days of podcasting, Rich keeps saying things that need to be cut, personality tests and how you can be both introvert and extrovert, how to make a viral hit on social media and what constitutes a work in progress at the Fringe. What is fringe theater? A better question might be what isn't it. The annual Theatre Crude festival is returning to Oklahoma City this week, bringing dozens of small-scale, non-traditional productions to the community. Want to hear from a misanthropic goldfish? Or maybe a MacBeth musical with lightsabers is more your speed. Theatre Crude co-founder Jenny Brand joins the podcast from The 4801, one of the festival's three venues, to talk about what fans can expect. Also on this week's episode, the editors discuss what they're looking forward to this Oklahoma fall, and podvents takes a moment to pay tribute to our "deer" friends. You won't want to miss it!

In this episode, Merk explains how "fringe" fiscal sustainability concerns have moved mainstream, driving gold to new highs above $3,700. He provides a gold mining primer, distinguishing between speculative junior miners and established producers, while focusing on developers with proven management teams as the "scarcest resource." Merk criticizes the Fed's evolution into micromanaging the economy through its "toolkit," arguing this creates inefficient capital allocation and enables political irresponsibility. He notes gold's correlation breakdown due to dollar weaponization and sees continued upside potential, though warns against overexposure, emphasizing that the best investment advice is to "invest in yourself" and control spending. This episode is sponsored by Monetary Metals. Sometimes we fail to allow grace in our own lives. Once we miss or fail for any reason, we allow those feelings of failure to defeat us causing us to miss more often or quit altogether. It's important to understand you will miss the mark sometimes. It's equally important to think about that up front so that you have an understanding and a plan for how to respond and get right back to keeping up the good habit you're trying to maintain. ORIGINAL AIR DATE: MAY 28, 2016It's common among Christians to interpret Paul's statement that “all Israel will be saved” (Rom 11:25-26) to mean that national Israel will be saved by God in the end or that all Jews will eventually turn to the messiah in the end times. But is that what Paul meant? How would we know? This episode discusses Paul's statement and these questions.Links referenced:Summary of Christopher Zoccali, “And So All Israel Will be Saved: Competing Interpretations of Romans 11.26 in Pauline Scholarship,” Journal for the Study of the New Testament, 2008: 289-317Staples' article: Jason A.
