Fearful that her abusive ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan), might recognize himself in the book, she turns to her current boyfriend, Alex Kiriakis (played by Robert Scott Wilson), for help on the NBC Peacock soap opera. DOOL sees the book, published by Titan Publishing with the assistance of Kate Roberts (played by Lauren Koslow), is already causing a stir in Salem. It even finds its way to Stephanie's mother, Kayla Brady (played by Mary Beth Evans) and her partner Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), causing unexpected consequences. With Stephanie's reputation as a PR agent on the line, the return of her ex-boyfriend could spell trouble. DOOL sees Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), Stephanie's ex, also sees himself in the book, raising concerns about how much of Stephanie's past relationships she included. The book's imminent launch and the mention of Jeremy Horton by Steve hint at the potential return of the character. This suspicion is further fueled by the arrival of a new actor, Michael Rourke, in October. Days of Our Lives sees Alex Kiriakis and Kate Roberts are eager to fast-track the publication of Stephanie's book, hoping it will revitalize Titan Industries' publishing division. However, in the rush, a specific passage that Stephanie wanted removed remains, potentially inviting trouble from Jeremy.
