My guest, Lisa Murphy, hails from the east coast of Ireland, not too far from Ireland's capital city of Dublin. Holding university degrees in archives, public history, and ancient history and archaeology, she has spent the past decade working in the fields of heritage and archives. She is currently employed as the Congregational Archivist for the Medical Missionaries of Mary where she documents and preserves the archives and records of this international missionary congregation of women religious. Her passion for history often spills over into her personal life and ultimately led her to begin her camera collecting journey in 2015. In January 2021, during Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to share insights into her hobby through her blog analoguearchivist.com. This personal project combines elements of both collecting and archival work and seeks to inform, assist, and engage with fellow collectors and photographers. Our discussion covers an historical approach to Camera Collecting, provenance and research, the voice of Women Camera Collectors, and other engaging topics. Join us!
