Lily Mastrodimos, a musician in a band she named after a Don Bluth movie (https://longnecklass.bandcamp.com/) , has decided to drag her friends, family members, and heroes kicking and shouting into her passion--talking about America's greatest animator, Don Bluth. Join this self-proclaimed "enBluthiast" as she and her special guests discuss the cultural impacts of his films, how they compare to Disney (they are better!), and his distinct animation style. They'll explore his filmmaking techniques, history of union troubles (uh oh!), and why his movies consistently feature handsome anthropomorphic animals. Things tend to go awry very quickly, and that's a guarantee!

Bassist extraordinaire and legit bodybuilder Saysha Heinzman joins me (Lily) for the inaugural episode of this wretched series to discuss Don Bluth's 1982 film, "The Secret of NIMH". We get down to the basics of Bluth's rise to animation fame and talk about the old-school techniques he used to make this movie. We ask hard-hitting questions like, "Who's the hottest rat? Why do all girl animals wear bows? What does Disney's 'Robin Hood' (1973) have to do with ANY of this?" The answers will shock you! _______________________ Saysha Heinzman plays bass in Field Mouse and is a personal bodybuilding trainer in Brooklyn, NY.
