Heather Jones is living proof that when everyone else is pulling back, you go ALL IN. In this episode, Krista Mashore sits down with Heather to unpack exactly how she turned 2024—one of the toughest markets since 1995—into the best year of her real estate career. Heather shares how she uses video marketing, community branding, and good old-fashioned consistency to dominate her farm area. From neighborhood contests to targeted Facebook ads, she's built a rock-solid listing pipeline (7 listings + 7 buyers in Q1 of 2025!)—and she's doing it with nothing but her iPhone. You'll learn: ✅ The video strategy she used to go from invisible to local celebrity ✅ How her $2M in sales came from a kid's coloring contest ✅ What “location domination” actually looks like in 2025 ✅ Why consistency beats perfection every time This isn't theory—this is the real deal from someone doing it right now.

On today's podcast I have Max McKenna stage and screen actor well known for playing Mural in Mural's Wedding the musical that toured Australia. Max went on to star alongside Natalie Bassinghtwaighte in Jagged Little Pill which I actually saw five times. Max is also the only child of Gina Riley one of my favourite comedians. We are here to unpack their latest feature film role in Jones Family Christmas which is now available to watch on Stan Australia. The Christmas feature involves an eccentric grandmother Heather Jones played by Heather Mitchell who finally managed to get her whole family under her roof for Christmas. But all is not as merry and bright in this rural home. From heartbreak and depression, to meddling mothers and forced frivolity – every member of Heather's extended clan is fighting an internal battle. This film is like a warm hug from your Mum and I hope you all take the time to see Max in this film - as they are sensational as the non binary youngest child in Jones Family Christmas. We will talk about Max's role in the film and if their own journey through gender and sexuality discovery helped writers and producers tell the most authentic story. I'll ask about their time playing Murial and if that role left as much of an impact on them as it did for Toni Collette. Max will share some really fun stories about their mother Gina Riley and which character was their favourite growing up. Plus we will get plenty of exclusives from behind the scenes of ‘Jones Family Christmas.' Which as I mentioned is out on Stan Australia for you to watch now.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Heather Jones is a native New Yorker who now resides in Alabama with her wonderful husband and two beautiful children. She's a lifelong lover of books, animals, and creating. Heather is a certified life coach who has taken the long route with many exciting endeavors on her way here. At 18 she joined the Army, met her husband, and after serving 6 years exited the military. Early on she studied baking and pastry arts which she happily implements in her own kitchen for her friend's and family's benefit. She entered the entrepreneurial world officially as an Etsy shop owner and over time, while enjoyable, she realized there was something more she wanted to do and that is when Heather found her passion to inspire and empower others. Heather Jones brings a refreshing perspective of the Parable of the Sower found in Matthew 13 by focusing on the third type of soil. Too many times we are focused on the branches of our tree and forget to realize that God is working deep in the roots.
Heather Jones delivers a powerful teaching out of Revelation 3:14-20. The refining process is melting things that were originally never part of you. What will it cost you? It will cost you the very things that hold you back from God.
Heather Jones shares a powerful testimony of missionary trip and a beautiful teaching on the book of Revelation 2:5 What happened to the church of Ephesus; that at first they were known for their love but approximately 30 years later they were being advised to turn their hearts back to their first love. This week Heather Jones shared a message on holiness alongside our connection to technology. The main Scripture for this week comes from 1 Peter 1:13-16, along with some other readings with each discussion question (see below):1 Peter:What is your reaction to the word 'holy'? What comes to mind or what do you picture as you think about holiness? If you could make all the changes you want in an instant, what would your relationship to screens look like?Spirit:John 4:23; Galatians 5:16-17How can we use screens to nourish and help our spirit and connection to the Father?Soul:Romans 8:6-7As we think about how much our use of screens can feed into our minds, will and emotions, is there anything you need to add or discard in your use of screens to give health to your soul?Body:Psalm 101:3; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20What sticks out to you from these passages? How can we use screens to bless our bodies as a temple of the Holy Spirit?
Happy Platinum Jubilee! As Queen Elizabeth II becomes the first British monarch to mark 70 years on the throne - as well as commander-in-chief of Her Majesty's Armed Forces - we trace the origins of the House of Windsor's close-knit links to the British military. Why are the two so seemingly inseparable? The story begins in the First World War, when the dynasty changed its name from the House of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha to distance itself from its German roots. Rather than suffer due to its kinship with the kaiser, the royal family's stock amongst the UK public and its soldiery actually rose during and after the Great War.In this episode James is joined by Heather Jones, Professor in Modern & Contemporary European History at UCL and the author of a new book on the subject, to explore exactly why the Armed Forces serve for king, queen and country.Prof. Jones's book For King and Country: The British Monarchy and the First World War is out now via Cambridge University Press. For more Warfare content, subscribe to our Warfare Wednesday newsletter here.If you'd like to learn even more, we have hundreds of history documentaries, ad free podcasts and audiobooks at History Hit - subscribe today! For King and Country: The British Monarchy and the First World War (Cambridge UP, 2021) is a ground-breaking history of the British monarchy in the First World War and of the social and cultural functions of monarchism in the British war effort. Heather Jones examines how the conflict changed British cultural attitudes to the monarchy, arguing that the conflict ultimately helped to consolidate the crown's sacralised status. She looks at how the monarchy engaged with war recruitment, bereavement, gender norms, as well as at its political and military powers and its relationship with Ireland and the empire. She considers the role that monarchism played in military culture and examines royal visits to the front, as well as the monarchy's role in home front morale and in interwar war commemoration. Her findings suggest that the rise of republicanism in wartime Britain has been overestimated and that war commemoration was central to the monarchy's revered interwar status up to the abdication crisis. In short, this is very much the work that master-historian David Stevenson accurately notes: "sheds new light on crucial aspects of the British (and Irish) experience between 1914 and 1918". In short, For King and Country is a must read book. Charles Coutinho Ph. D. of the Royal Historical Society, received his doctorate from New York University. His area of specialization is 19th and 20th-century European, American diplomatic and political history.
