Joe Concha, Fox News contributor and author of the new book The Greatest Comeback Ever: Inside Trump's Big Beautiful Campaign, joined The Guy Benson Show today to react to Jim Acosta's bizarre and uncomfortable interview with an AI-generated version of a school shooting victim, a choice that has been panned on the left and right alike. Guy and Concha also discussed Greg Gutfeld being invited to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and how that move challenges the late-night lefty bubble that has long boxed out Gutfeld. Plus, Concha weighed in on the outrage from the radical left over Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle jeans ad - listen to the full interview below! Learn more about your ad choices. And I'm not mad about it…because I love Hawaii as much as Pili does. What started as a conversation about drums quickly turned into a deep dive into the mountains of Maui, eating poke in Vegas, dodging cliffs on the road to Hana, and unpacking what it really means to grow up Hawaiian.Pili shares powerful insight into his upbringing, the meaning behind his full name (which you'll want to hear him pronounce), and how the cultural values of the islands shaped his character and musical path. We talk about the community spirit of Hawaii, how music is integrated into education there, and how his influences—from reggae to Latin percussion to gospel—eventually led him to the national tour of Mrs. Doubtfire.Later on, Pili breaks down how he landed that tour gig right out of college, how he prepared for it, and what it really takes to succeed on the road. It's an inspiring conversation with a young musician doing it right—with humility, discipline, and heart.Watch, enjoy, and if you like what you see, hit that subscribe button on the Broadway Drumming 101 YouTube channel. Hey, Comedy Lovers! ✤ Welcome to "Ian Lara" ⭐ All advice is bad advice, please do adult things and put this podcast on in the background.
Ryan Recker covers a wild mix this segment, starting with the surprising news that Greg Gutfeld will guest host The Tonight Show to boost ratings as Jimmy Fallon struggles. He digs into the strategy behind this conservative crossover and anticipates how it'll play out. Then, he highlights a viral Minnesota meteorologist who was criticized for texting on air during severe weather coverage—but Recker defends the guy, pointing out how personal safety trumps “professionalism” in a crisis. The segment pivots to the WNBA, where fans throwing sex toys onto the court have sparked outrage among players and prompted bans, with concerns about security tightening at games. Finally, an unexpected retail partnership emerges as Best Buy and IKEA team up to create mini IKEA display setups inside Best Buy stores, targeting dorm-room shoppers and aiming to increase foot traffic.
In this episode, I sit down with drummer and Hawaii native Pili Fronda, and fair warning: you might learn more about Hawaiian history, food, geography, and culture than you bargained for. And I'm not mad about it…because I love Hawaii as much as Pili does. This conversation might've started out about drums, but before we even hit the 10-minute mark, we were deep in the mountains of Maui, eating poke in Vegas, dodging cliffs on the road to Hana, and breaking down what it really means to grow up Hawaiian.Pili shares powerful insight into his upbringing, the meaning behind his full name (which you're going to want to hear him pronounce), and how the cultural values instilled in him shaped not just his character, but his entire musical path. We also talk about the community-centered spirit of the islands, the way music is woven into Hawaiian education, and how Pili's musical influences—from reggae to Latin percussion to gospel—led him to the national tour of Mrs. Doubtfire.Later in the episode, we dig into his process for landing that tour gig straight out of college, how he prepared for it, and what it takes to thrive on the road. This is an inspiring conversation with a young musician who's doing things the right way, with humility, discipline, and heart. This Substack is reader-supported. Kate Lindsay and Candice Lim run through some updates following the Coldplay concert cheating scandal, and why Astronomer's latest PR stunt is hitting them differently. Then, they surprise each other with two stories from different sides of the internet. First, what's going on with this fake TikTok cult that possibly involves animal sacrifices, skin carvings, and questionable leadership? And who is Jessie Murph, the pseudo-country singer whose recent performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon has the internet questioning whether her lyrics are satirical or regressive?
