Symbols are often used to communicate hidden meaning. They help convey meaning to abstract phenomena and ideas. In the bible we find many symbolic representations in speech and objects meant to convey truth, and/or the power of God. Of the several themes in scripture, is the one of Master and Apprentice. The dynamic between both positions in relation to the mission is worth taking a look at.
