Day 2917 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 147:1-11 Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2917 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2917 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Architect of Stars and Restorer of Hearts – The Infinite Power and Tender Compassion of Yahweh On our previous expedition—on Day Two Thousand Nine Hundred Fifteen—we embarked on the grand, five-psalm crescendo known as the "Final Hallel," exploring the magnificent truths of Psalm One Hundred Forty-Six. We listened as the psalmist warned us against placing our trust in mortal princes whose breath departs and whose plans turn to dust, urging us instead to anchor our hope in the eternal God who made the heavens, the earth, and the sea. Today, as we step onto Day Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventeen of our trek, we advance directly into the second glorious movement of this final doxology: Psalm One Hundred Forty-Seven, verses one through eleven. As we ascend this trail, we encounter a stunning theological paradox that will leave us in absolute awe. The psalmist places two mind-boggling realities side by side: the God who names every single star in the cosmic expanse is the very same God who gently binds up the bleeding wounds of brokenhearted refugees. Let us step onto this sacred path together and discover the staggering balance of Yahweh's infinite power and tender, intimate compassion. The first segment is: The Gentle Architect: Gathering Exiles and Healing Broken Hearts Let us open our ears to the joyful invitation that opens this psalm, as recorded in the New Living Translation, grouping together the deeply connected thoughts in verse one, verse two, and verse three. Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God; how delightful and how fitting! The Lord is rebuilding Jerusalem and gathering the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. The psalmist begins with an energetic, soul-stirring call to worship, exclaiming, “Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God; how delightful and how fitting!” He then immediately connects this praise to the concrete, historical work of redemption, declaring, “The Lord is rebuilding Jerusalem and gathering the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” Notice how natural, beautiful, and fitting praise becomes when we truly grasp what Yahweh is doing in human history. The psalmist highlights God's historical restoration of His covenant people. After decades of bitter captivity in Babylon, where Jerusalem lay in blackened ruins and the people felt utterly abandoned, Yahweh personally steps into history to rebuild the holy city and gather the scattered exiles back to their ancestral home. To appreciate this through the ancient Israelite worldview, we must realize that when a nation was conquered and exiled, the surrounding pagan cultures believed that nation's god had been defeated by their own territorial idols. But Yahweh demonstrates that the exile was not His defeat; it was His discipline, and His gathering-back is His supreme triumph! Look at the exquisite tenderness of verse three: the grand King of the universe is not depicted as a harsh military warden marching soldiers into place. Instead, He is revealed as a compassionate, gentle physician, kneeling in the dust of human suffering. He tenderly takes those who are shattered in spirit—those crushed by trauma, exile, and grief—and He personally bandages their gaping wounds, pouring in the oil of His comfort and restoration. The second segment is: The Master of the Host: Sovereign Power and Divine Order The narrative now pivots from intimate, personal healing to staggering cosmic magnitude, combining the contiguous thoughts found in verse four, verse five, and verse six. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! The Lord lifts up the humble, but he casts the wicked to the ground. The psalmist takes our eyes off the ruined walls of Jerusalem and casts them upward into the night sky, proclaiming, “He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! The Lord lifts up the humble, but he casts the wicked to the ground.” Think about the mind-boggling scale of this declaration! Modern astronomy tells us there are trillions upon trillions of stars scattered across billions of galaxies, yet the psalmist asserts that Yahweh not only knows the exact count of these celestial fires, but He has personally assigned an individual, intimate name to every single one of them! In the Ancient Israelite divine-council worldview, stars were frequently associated with the heavenly host—the spiritual beings, sons of God, and angelic rulers created by Yahweh to populate the celestial realm. Pagan nations worshipped these stellar bodies as independent deities, bowing down to astrologers and planetary omens. But the psalmist shatters all pagan idolatry! The stars are not independent gods; they are created entities under the absolute, sovereign authority of Yahweh. He marshals them like a commander roll-calling His army, and not a single star moves without His permission. His power is absolute, and His understanding is utterly beyond human or angelic measurement! Yet, look at verse six: this same infinite Cosmic Commander uses His absolute authority to execute perfect moral justice. He reaches down into human history to gently lift up the humble and oppressed, while throwing down the arrogant and wicked into the dust of defeat. The third segment is: The Song of Provision: Feeding Creation from the Clouds The psalmist now calls for a fresh wave of musical thanksgiving, weaving together the creation themes found in verse seven, verse eight, and verse nine. Sing out your thanks to the Lord; praise our God with the harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in the mountain pastures. He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry. The text erupts into musical joy once again, shouting, “Sing out your thanks to the Lord; praise our God with the harp.” The writer then paints a vivid, agricultural landscape, describing how Yahweh “covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in the mountain pastures. He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry.” Look at how effortlessly Yahweh manages the water cycles and ecosystems of the planet! In the ancient Near East, neighboring cultures lived in constant dread of drought, offering sacrifices to the storm god Baal in hopes of securing seasonal rain. But the psalmist declares that it is Yahweh—and Yahweh alone—who wraps the heavens in dark, moisture-rich storm clouds, sending life-giving rain upon the parched earth. Notice where the grass grows: on the “mountain pastures.” Mountains were often rocky, dry, and inaccessible to human farmers, yet God's care extends far beyond human agriculture into the untamed wilderness! He personally waters the high ridges so that wild animals have pasture. And look at the delicate detail in verse nine: He hears the harsh, squawking cries of helpless young ravens in their nests, and He personally provides their daily food. If the Sovereign King of the cosmos pays such meticulous attention to wild mountain beasts and hungry baby ravens, how much more can we trust Him to provide for our daily needs on life's journey? The fourth segment is: The Delight of the King: Hope in Unfailing Love The psalmist brings this first half of Psalm One Hundred Forty-Seven to a magnificent, heart-searching conclusion, linking together the profound wisdom in verse ten and verse eleven. He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord's delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love. The psalmist contrasts earthly military arrogance with the true values of God's kingdom, declaring, “He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord's delight...

Refusing to live a repentant life means rejecting God's ordained disposition and order. The sermon's spiritual purpose is to refortify this foundational doctrine in the modern Pentecostal church, urging hearers to seek daily alignment with God's will as the only path to salvation and divine order.

My whole life, I've only know of one profession: Knight of the Cloth. There are Oaths to take. Oaths you should not break, cannot break. I took them before I could grow hair on my chin. The Divine Order taught me many things. Mostly how to fight with a sword and not embarrass myself in front of dignitaries. I can recite 9 different prayers for the morning, tell the difference between most devils and demons at a glance but I have no idea how to balance a budget. Contracts are a foreign concept, I was taught that my word was stronger than ironwood. I do not have the training, the brains nor the stomach for politicking. I've always hated the dishonesty of it all. In this “new day,” individual independence gives way to corporate submission—each member of the Body aligned under Christ as Head. Ministries such as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are not ranks of authority but expressions of the Holy Spirit moving through different members at different times. No individual receives preeminence; the anointing belongs to God alone. Just as a physical body functions in coordinated harmony under the direction of the head, so the Ecclesia functions when every part submits one to another under Christ. Divine order is not democracy, nor hierarchy—it is Spirit-led alignment under the Lordship of Jesus. Show Notes 1. The Holy Spirit Creates the Order The Holy Spirit is the source of all anointing.Ministry roles are not fixed titles but Spirit-led expressions.At one moment someone may function apostolically; at another, differently.The Spirit is the true Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher.God does not share His glory with individuals. 3. The Body Functions Through Alignment No part is more important than another.Just as the physical body functions under the brain's direction, the Body of Christ functions under Christ as Head.When one part is missing or out of alignment, the whole body suffers.Divine order means the right function at the right time under the Spirit's direction. 4. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”The root of the cultural chaos we are experiencing is a surrender of the Truth of things!  Today Jack takes you inside a viral confrontation over women's locker rooms, presses into why definitions matter for safety and law, and asks a harder question most debates skip: are we created with purpose and order, or are we accidents of history free to redefine reality on the fly? From that starting point, everything else follows—coherent policy, compassionate boundaries, and a moral ecology that protects the vulnerable.We share the exchange of a Lesbian Black women with a liberal state senator as a case study in clashing worldviews: identity claims versus biological reality, the language of “inclusion” versus the lived experience of women who need privacy and protection. Then we widen the frame to children, adoption, and natural law. If public institutions treat bodies as arbitrary and family as interchangeable, who absorbs the cost? We wrestle with that question honestly and keep kids at the center.We also examine the Church's Shepherds, who are responsible for proclaiming the Truth...who instead struggle to speak with clarity, highlighting moments of institutional confusion and the courage of leaders like Bishop Strickland who ask for fidelity to doctrine. Rather than despair, we pivot to formation: how small, faithful communities and daily habits can renew minds and rebuild culture from the parish outward.
