Sermons by Toby DeHay
Today we discover the importance the Jewish people of Nehemiah's time placed upon scripture reading and gathering as a body to hear the word of God publically read. How much more as believers should we appreciate the word of God as it has the power to change and transform us as we yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit?
In Nehemiah 7:1-4, we learn that the wall is up, the people are in the city, but leadership is needed to provide for daily needs and protection from outside dangers. Godly leadership is required in order to lead people in the way of the Lord. Toby closes out the sermon with a quote from Charles Spurgeon-a Gospel plea for the lost to come to Christ before it is too late.
Bro. Toby presented a Facebook Live devotion today on Bible reading, daily devotions, and interacted with people who commented by praying for them and their needs.
We are back in Nehemiah! You've fought a hard fight. You've been faithful. Yet there are still troubles. What gives? Is this Biblical?
This 2017 Christmas Eve sermon is centered around the children at Concord in White Plains. The kids interacted with Bro Toby as he presented from Luke 1:26-38. You may have a difficult time hearing the comments of most of the children. It was a precious time with the kids and the church had a blessed time of worship.
Bro. Toby preaches the third of four advent sermons. Before he gets started in John 1, he comments on the reading from Isaiah 61.

Are we working for the glory of God? In this passage we can learn some principles that will help us to do so. (The bones of this outline are taken from: Wiersbe, Warren W. Be Determined. “Be” Commentary Series. Wheaton, IL: Victor Books, 1996.)
The way we talk and who we talk to regarding prayer matters. Today we'll learn why our attitude matters and why it's important to have a basic understanding of the person we are talking to regarding prayer.

For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. 5 Then I said: “O Lord , God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, 6 let your ear be attentive and your…
It is expected that believers spend a portion of their day in God's Word. This helps to provide spiritual development, it transforms the Christian's mind, dispels ignorance, and gives us a mighty weapon as we engage in spiritual warfare.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds…
Sorry about the slides on this sermon. Will adjust next week!
For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding,…
Falsehoods I like what the NLT says in this verse: "stop telling lies." ‘These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates. ‘Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these…
Christ Gives All Gifts (7-10) But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore it says, “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.” (Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended…
