When I learned that 2 of my children stopped believing in Jesus, I was devastated. Even though we mourn the relationship when we become estranged, that is not the biggest blow when you're estranged from a prodigal. The biggest blow is about their relationship with Jesus. Many Christian wonder what is God will for me? What can i do for God? We many not all be called to preach or to sing but we have all been given the ability to stand in the gap to intercede on behalf of others. Jesus said that he was giving us the keys or the authority of the kingdom over the enemy abilities allowing so we could stand in the gap knowing that we can stand and fight for others in need.

Ever felt unworthy of God's love, salvation, healing? In I Kings Chapter 13 we read the story of an unnamed prophet chosen by God to deliver a very strong message to the wicked king Jeroboam. The message said that God would destroy the altars to the king's false gods and idols, and that the human ashes on top of the altar would be poured out in front of Jeroboam as a sign of the authenticity of the prophecy. The king became so angry that he stuck out his arm and shouted to his soldiers to seize the prophet, and when he did, God sent judgment and withered his hand and froze his arm in the outstretched position. The king had the audacity to ask the prophet, whom he was just about to have killed, to intercede in prayer to his God on his behalf and ask him to restore his hand and arm…and God chose to answer the prophet's prayer on behalf of Jeroboam. Sometimes, even saints do wrong or make bad choices. We have a God who set up a system of intercession—we as saints intercede for the lost, the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings for us, and Jesus intercedes for all to the Father.
We know that Jesus has a three-fold office: Prophet, Priest, and King; this is evident in what he has done in the past. Pastor Ben Khazraee looks at Jesus' role today, after finishing his work on the cross. The post Jesus’s Present Work: Interceding for Us appeared first on Grace Church of Tallahassee.
Acts 1:6-11 - The ascension of Jesus is an often-neglected event, but it helps us answer the question, "Where is Jesus right now and what is He doing?" In this sermon we consider the implications of the Nicene Creed's statement that Jesus "ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father" in fulfillment of Daneil's incredible prophecy about one like a "Son of Man" given a "dominion, and glory, and a kingdom." The ascension of Jesus to the right hand of God is not just esoteric theology, but it is an indispensable part of the good news that Jesus now rules as prophet, priest, and king. A sermon by Cameron Heger. [Part 11 of our series "The Nicene Creed: The Ancient Theology of the Triune God"] Questions for reflection: 1) What do you think the average non-Christian thinks Christians think Jesus is doing right now? What have you thought? 2) Why is the ascension an important doctrine for understanding the good news of Jesus? 3) What does it mean for Jesus to "sit at the right hand of the Father"? 4) Discuss Jesus as reigning king, interceding priest, and empowering prophet? 5) What does acknowledgement of Jesus's cosmic reign look like in your own life? What should it look like?

Welcome to my favorite Bible passage discovery. Jesus tells the disciples that it is BETTER IF HE GOES AWAY. That just blows my mind. It is better in two ways. First, like artillery at a distance, Jesus continues to have an effect by INTERCEDING. Second, He sends a new, local help as well, the HELPER, the Holy Spirit. "I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land..." – Ezekiel 22:30Prayer is powerful, but interceding for others takes it to another level—it is an act of love, faith, and spiritual warfare. In this episode of The Praying Wife Podcast, I am joined by the incredible Dr. Helga Clarke, Overseer of Harvest Fire Worship Center in Miami Gardens and President of Daughters of Destiny International Ministry. Together, we discuss what it truly means to stand in the gap for others and why intercession is essential in our walk with God.
Jesus stepped into the woman's world, the woman who had had a spirit of infirmity bound to her for 18 years. Jesus stepped in and freed her or lose her from the spirit of infirmity. Jesus understood his intercessory role between the woman and the evil spirit to set her free. Most believers today, do not understand their role in intercessory prayer. Do you know what your role is an intercessory prayer, to help others find their freedom?
What did Jesus teach us about prayer? Listen as Apostle Tonya teaches from the Bible on prayer and the weight of intercession. For more teachings on our Lord Jesus Christ, and her testimonies on supernatural manifestations, visit https://apostletonya.org
- Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Global Christians understand the importance of prayer. An intercessor is someone who prays fervently and expectantly for Gospel advance among the nations.

Warriors, welcome! Today, we delve into the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, especially through the lens of intercession. Anchored by John 14:26, we're reminded of the Holy Spirit's role not only as our Comforter but also as our divine enabler in prayer. Our springboard for today's discussion is: John 14:26 (ESV): "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." This promise ensures that when we lack the words or understanding, the Spirit steps in, equipping us with wisdom and insight.Harnessing the Holy Spirit's Power in Intercession:* Recognize Your Need: Acknowledge that true intercessory power comes not from ourselves but from the Holy Spirit. It's crucial to depend on Him to guide your prayers.* Seek Spirit-Led Prayer: Start your prayer times by openly inviting the Holy Spirit to lead you. Ask Him to bring to your mind the issues He desires you to pray about.Practical Steps to Inviting the Holy Spirit into Your Intercession:* Quiet Time: Dedicate time for stillness in God's presence to hear His voice more clearly. This quiet waiting can often be where the Holy Spirit speaks the most profoundly.* Scripture Saturation: Immerse yourself in God's Word. The Holy Spirit often uses scripture to guide our intercessory prayers, providing clarity and direction.* Responsive Obedience: When the Spirit impresses upon you a specific prayer burden, respond immediately. This obedience fosters a deeper fellowship with the Holy Spirit and makes your prayer life more dynamic and responsive.ConclusionEmbracing the Holy Spirit's role in intercession transforms it from a duty to a dynamic encounter with God's power. As you yield to the Spirit's leading, you'll find your prayers becoming more aligned with God's will and, consequently, more effective.A Question of the Day: What area of your life or community is God placing on your heart to intercede for with the guidance of the Holy Spirit?Growth Challenge: This week, I challenge you to focus one intercessory prayer session solely on listening for the Holy Spirit's guidance. Document any insights or burdens He reveals to you, and commit to praying into these areas over the next month.Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending us the Holy Spirit to be our helper in every aspect of our lives, including our prayer life. Holy Spirit, we invite You to fill us afresh, guide our prayers, and empower us to intercede with divine strength. Teach us, lead us, and use us as instruments of Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.Stay strong in the Spirit, Warriors. Let the Holy Spirit transform your intercession into a powerful tool for God's Kingdom. Remember, you are never praying alone; the Spirit Himself is interceding through you. Let's get to work.My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. Fear To Freedom #RTTBROS #Nightlight From Fear to Freedom: The Power of Praying for Others "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." - James 5:16 #PrayerWarrior #FaithOverFear #IntercessoryPrayer In the darkest corners of Nazi imprisonment, Corrie ten Boom discovered a profound spiritual truth that would transform countless lives. She wrote: "I prayed to dispel my fear, until suddenly, and I do not know how the idea came to me, I began to pray for others. I prayed for everyone who came into my thoughts -- people with whom I had traveled, those who had been in prison with me, my school friends of years ago. I do not know how long I continued my prayer, but this I do know my fear was gone! Interceding for others had released me!" How often do we find ourselves trapped in the prison of our own fears, frantically praying for deliverance, yet remaining bound? Perhaps, like Peter sleeping in chains (Acts 12:6-7), our liberation comes when the church begins to pray for us - and when we begin to pray for others. Consider the divine paradox: When focused solely on our fears, they grow larger. But when we turn our eyes toward others' needs, our own burdens often lift. This mirrors Christ's words: "Give, and it shall be given unto you" (Luke 6:38). Could this principle apply not just to material giving, but to our prayers as well? The Bible shows us this pattern repeatedly: - Job's fortunes were restored when he prayed for his friends (Job 42:10) - Paul and Silas found freedom through praise in prison (Acts 16:25-26) - Daniel's deliverance came while he maintained his prayer routine for others (Daniel 6:10) Today's Application: When fear grips your heart, try Corrie's method: 1. List three people God brings to mind 2. Pray specifically for their needs 3. Watch how your own fears begin to diminish Prayer: Lord, like Corrie ten Boom, teach me to look beyond my own fears to the needs of others. Transform my anxiety into intercession, my worry into worship. Help me remember that in serving others through prayer, I often find my own deliverance. In Jesus' name, Amen. Today's Challenge: Set a timer for 10 minutes. Rather than praying about your own concerns, intercede solely for others. Note how your perspective shifts as you focus outward rather than inward. Remember: "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee" (Psalm 55:22). Sometimes, the very act of casting our eyes upon others' burdens is what enables us to release our own. Isaiah describes the Messiah as one who made intercession for the transgressors (Is 53:12). With this as his starting point, but turning immediately to the prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ for his crucifiers, Spurgeon opens the topic out to a consideration of our Saviour's mediatorial intercession. He asks us first to admire the grace which is shown in Christ's prayers for transgressors. He shows us how our Intercessor fills us with confidence in himself. He urges us to follow his example, because “the life of Christ is a precept” to his disciples. The whole becomes a powerful study in a compassionate heart and voice, pressing us to understand just how merciful it is in Christ to speak on behalf of transgressors, and asking us whether or not we truly appreciate what that means, both for our own blessing and for our own attitude to others. Does our friend have a need? Let's get him or her to Jesus. That's what intercessory prayer is all about. Four men in the Bible were so intent on getting their paralyzed friend to Jesus that they tore up a roof and lowered him down in front of the Lord. Let's be like those men and drop someone, in faith and prayer, right in front of Jesus today for salvation, deliverance, healing.
