Travelling Eggs

On yet another trip to Italy, Marie ventures out to Florence on her first solo journey. Inspired by Hannibal Lecter's times in the city, let us take you to the Uffizi Gallery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and on a stroll down Ponte Vecchio. Make sure to stick around for some 1€-ice-cream and a trip to some of the most famous gardens of the city that hold one magnificent surprise. However, this holiday was off to a bumpy start, due to a little apartment shit-show that required Marie to quickly develop her travel survival skills.

For this episode, we will be giving you a concoction of two different cities mixed into one delicious story. First up is Malaga, where Fergus went with Georgina (one of our No. 1 fans) and her family, where an unknown illness struck like a smooth criminal. But don't be put off by this and stay to travel with Marie to Hamburg where she got one of her favourite tattoos which turned out to be a more challenging journey than she expected. Not only did her pain threshold fail her, but she was also met with some major disruptions on the way home. It was all worth it in the end though so tune in for some fun times.

Return to Austria with us- this time, however, to join Marie on her trip to Vienna. Look forward to some absolutely fabulous horses, grand palaces and a city full of stunningly beautiful art and architecture. However, you better also brace yourselves for a rather bumpy ride at the funfair, another unnerving bus journey and a rather unpleasant promoter. Vienna's got it all- tune in for all the details!

This episode, Fergus will be talking about a recent trip he took with his boyfriend to Helsinki, Finland. Little did they know that this was a near identical town to that in "Footloose" where alcohol was apparently a rare substance, the nightlife was pretty much non-existent and public transport was an unsolvable mystery to use. We'll also be talking about some of our positive adventures, such as exploring an isolated sea fortress and trying to keep quiet in a Chapel of Silence. Also listen in for some delicious food recommendations.

Freshly graduated from high-school, Marie's expectations were great when travelling to Rome over summer. And indeed, some of them were met- join us this week and take a trip to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Trevi Fountain and the Vatican City. However, be assured that you'll also hear about how Marie had to get used to her travels always including some disasters- like a pretty precarious soap mix-up, more bathroom problems, as well as walking issues. Travelling Eggs returns to Italy and surely won't disappoint in terms of adventures and mishaps.

In case your winter is lacking some frost and snow, fear not, for this week we're taking you to Toronto! Join Marie on her semester abroad in Canada, where she experienced a new school, worked on a range of film sets and met the most awesome set of people! But of course, this journey wouldn't be part of Travelling Eggs if it didn't include some adventures. So, get ready to hear how not all starts of amazing times are equally perfect and how film sets (especially those of students) can be quite eventful. But don't worry, we also have a bunch of local recommendations for you which Marie explored during her months abroad. So, bundle up and let's revisit Toronto!

This week, join Fergus for his adventures and disasters in Barcelona, Spain. This was an exciting and eventful trip taken with a group of friends, fresh out of college and just before heading off to university. Listen in for mishaps including the downfall of a casual dating encounter, an alternative for what to do when you forget your ID when clubbing and the story of how the group narrowed down from 4 people to 2. We'll also take you to some beaches and other amazing locations around the city, ready for your next visit!

Starting off this journey with the city where it all began, Amsterdam. Expect to hear tales about problems which start at the airport, carry on to the AirBnB and haunt you throughout the holiday.  From crazy delays to passport confusions, this trip was the first to test our abilities to overcome travel disasters. However, it was all worth it in the end because this led to the origin story... of the eggs.
