Welcome to Urgency. My name is Moin Syed. My desire is to benefit as many people as possible with my messages. My mission is to encourage, give hope, and instill urgency into as many lives as possible, so that each individual may become the best version of themselves.
There has been light shed on an issue that this country has had for hundreds of years now. The issue has never been fixed. There has been progress made, but still not even anywhere close to being fixed. This problem I’m referring to is systemic racism. We, collectively have to do more. This is not a black issue anymore. This is a humanity issue. Say “thank you.” Thank you for grace, thank you for mercy. Thank you for understanding. Thank you for wisdom. Thank you for parents, thank you for love, thank you for kindness. Thank you for humility, thank you for peace, thank you for prosperity. Say thank you in advance for what’s already yours. Say thank you for life! Your lungs have air in them, your heart is pumping blood. Gratitude, even for the simplest things. The Chinese bamboo tree takes fives yeas to grow. They have to water and fertilize the ground everyday. It doesn’t break the ground until the fifth year. But once it breaks through the ground, within five weeks, it grows 90 feet tall. But the question is, downs it grow 90 feet in five weeks or five years. You have to keep on watering your goals. Water your vision, no matter who says anything to you. You have to believe in your abilities, your ideas, your talents, your strengths. You have to believe in them unconditionally. Strength comes from adversity, as you have no doubt found in other areas of your life. Problems will arise and how you deal with them is what defines your future. You will get knocked down, life is known to do that, but how you overcome those difficulties will ultimately lead to your long-term success. How have your "New Year's Resolutions" been going? Have your kept your word to yourself? Have you held yourself accountable? There is a good chance the answers to those questions are not positive. I get it. I have been there, done that. We did not mess up, we chose to be weak when it came to keeping our word to ourselves about what we wanted to do, how we wanted to improve. It is a simple choice to not be weak when we are tested, we just make it complicated in our head. Change will last if you truly want it to last. If you truly want it to last, you will leave no room for negotiation and will choose strength over weakness every single time! This is a new segment of the podcast and will be different than the past 19 episodes. It is called "Thursday Thoughts." I will go through some recent news that has or is taking place and give my thoughts and opinion on it. This will be a weekly segment added to the podcast. This week's episode is on three different pieces of news: 1. Internet trolls calling out Jeff Bezos (& other wealthy celebs) of not donating enough money to the Australia fires. 2. A 15-year-old girl expelled from a Christian school for a picture in which she is wearing a rainbow sweater and has a rainbow cake at her birthday party. 3. A Texas man is awarded the Medal of Courage for stopping a mass shooting in a Texas Church and saving potentially hundreds of lives. Derek Jeter said, “There may be people who have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you believe in talent or not. But hard work, everything in your life is a result of that. Everything in your life is s a result of hard work or a lack there of. Life requires you put in the work. Goals require hard work. Nothing worth having comes easy. It takes hours, days, months, years of hard work. No one said it would be easy, but it will be worth it. Excuses, yes, we all make them. The blame game, yes, we have all played it. Blaming and making excuses are holding you back, more than you may realize. You are taking the easy way out. It's time to hold ourselves accountable and realize that only we are preventing ourselves from maximizing our potential. Once we drop the excuses, we will start to rise above and conquer. In this episode, I take you through several excuses I have made in my life, some alternatives you could say instead of those excuses, and a message to help you move you toward an excuse-less and blame-less life. Facebook only started in 2004, YouTube in 2005, and Instagram only started in October 2010. These are the top three social media sites and billions of people engage on those sites daily. Even though these sites are fairly new, they have evolved so fast and made a huge impact on society. Are you connecting to people? Are you making people feel good? Are you being real? Are you just fronting and being fake? Is there any substance in what you post? Are you putting good vibes out there? Not everyone is going to like you or care what you have to say. But, there may just be that one person’s life you totally change in some way and that makes a rippling affect. What would it be worth to you if you could get the traits in yourself like confidence, self-belief, discipline, and grittiness, also, completely transform your life? These are not traits you are born with, but skills you develop. The challenge I have taken up that Andy Frisella created has transformed me physically, but more importantly, mentally. Have a listen to all the changes that took place in my life over the last 75 days and how it can help you achieve the same changes so you can achieve anything and everything you want in life. DISCIPLINE! That’s the one thing standing in your way of achieving everything you dream of and desire. That’s the only thing! But let me tell you, there is nothing easy, funny, or cute about discipline. Not everyone is willing to do what it takes to improve. We all have it within us, but most people choose comfort. It’s the little things done on a daily basis that will bring those dreams and desires to life. Have a listen. Have a listen if you are tired of talking yourself out of anything that gets you out of your comfort zone. Have a listen if you are wanting the one thing that will get you to the life you dream and desire. The mind we each have is so powerful. More powerful than we tend to realize. Our mind has to power to help us become the most successful version of ourselves, or it can steer us for a life that is well below average and quite miserable. The conversations we have with ourselves each day determine where we end up in life and how our life turns out. If we cannot control our mind to stop taking the easy road, to give up, to quit when something gets hard, then we will never reach our version of success. Consistant discipline over time helps us reach success, but without control of our minds, we cannot even have disipline. Are you feeling unhappy? You are doing the best you can, getting the best grades you can, working as hard as you can but you still feel sadness. You still feel that unhappiness that is making your whole life feel unworthy? Well, have a listen. There might only be one thing in life that is making you unhappy unlike the many reasons you feel that you are unhappy. One mindset change will turn your life around and have you living a happy life sooner than you know. I am challenging you, and I am challenging myself to get rid of this one thing that is making us unhappy and live an awesome happy life! Times are changing. Years ago, college or formal education was a necessity if you wanted a better life. But times are changing, and the fact that you need a college degree is also changing. Many big companies that have high starting salaries are not requiring a college degree to work for them. College education is expensive, mandatory classes seem pointless, scandals constantly are in the news regarding admissions and athletics. The student loan situation is out of hand and is getting worse by the day. Young adults are getting their adulthood off to a horrible start by getting into debt for a degree and cannot even find a job once they receive the degree. The education system needs an overhaul. Times are changing, but school curriculum has stayed the same. Into & Outro Music: "Intro" by The XX (No Copyright intended) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMV6l2y67rk
The first woman I ever loved. For many people, this is their mother. My mother was the first woman I ever loved. She's made so many scrafices throughout her life and been there for me. Now, it was my turn to be there for her. Follow our story through an extremely difficult week we faced mid-2016. Everything could be going wrong in your life, but it is key to focus on one positive thing. Seek that one positive thing, no matter how small, and let it get you through whatever you are facing. This is a story. A true story about a guy who did anything and everything to make his dream a reality. He struggled so much in life. No matter what he went through, he always was focused on his dream. He had no choice but to succeed because in his situation, there was no where to go but up. Many of us can learn from the drive this man had. His story can help so many of us achieve our dreams. Love your comfort zone? You and me both. Who doesn't? But comfort is the thing holding us back from achieving our dreams and goals. In comfort, it is easy to lose sight of where you want to be long term. Comfort causes us to make excuses. But being intentionally uncomfortable, we will find growth. Outside of our comfort zone is where we grow, and consistent growth leads to our dreams and goals. You are not the only one. You have dreams, you have goals, so make them a reality. You have things in this world you want to do, so do them. All it takes is two things to achieve anything and everything you have ever wanted in life. Find out what those two things are in this week's episode. Thank you all for your support!

Do you ever look back on life and wish that you had your current knowledge when you were younger? That if your knew what you know now, back then, that your life would be so much better? Have you ever felt lost, confused, or clueless about where you are headed in life? And because of this reason you feel like just quitting on chasing the best version of yourself, because whats the point? Well, let me tell you, you are not alone. This is a lot more common than you think. Even many successful people have these thoughts. The important thing is that you always push forward and progress. As long as you keep progressing, keep chasing, you are going to get closer to the best version of yourself.
Have you ever been so broke that you could not even afford to buy yourself food? Felt such desperation that you would have eaten from the trash? This episode will take you into some stories of my past that have been so difficult to get through, but nonetheless, I got through them. With the worth ethic that my mother instilled in me, the faith, the drive, motivation, and dicipline that I have been blessed with, has all gotten me to this point. To share with you some of the lowest points in my life; not for your to feel bad or feel pity. But rather, to show you that there are brighter days ahead. Keep grinding, keep having faith, keep pushing. You will get where you want to go. YOU WILL! BELIEVE!
YES! We are going to be better this; than what we are now. We will improve ourselves each day, to strive to become the best versions of ourselves no matter what anyone thinks or says about us. We have to do it for us! Only we can make the decision to better ourselves, only we can take that step forward for ourselves, only we can step on the other side of fear. We have to be better tomorrow, than we were today! Urgency, live with it!
Time is going by faster and faster it seems. Everything around us is moving at a faster pace than every before. Are we doing anything in our lives to move to our goals, our aspirations, our dreams faster? Or are we keeping the same slow, neutral pace? We need to start living life with URGENCY because we do not know how much time we have left. Before we know it, so much time would have passed us by, and we will be left with regrets. Live with urgency! Do not put anything off anymore. Its NOW, not later.
