Weeb, the People is a weekly anime podcast, but we don't limit ourselves or our listeners to just reviews. We will be discussing a wide array of EVERYTHING related to anime: shows, manga, production, cosplay and conventions, character explorations, life lessons, and even tangent topics such as fitness and cooking!
Happy AniMonday, weebs! In this exciting session, hosts J, Cars, and Kenny B are joined by @bethofthewild to discuss various aspects of cosplaying. Beth is a top-tier craftsman that has entered (and won) several cosplay competitions. There are plenty of laughs to be had and much to be learned as she speaks about deciding on a cosplay and the materials to craft with, along with a winning mindset and handling stress in a hobby fraught with hardships. The hosts speak in depth with her of judging and various levels of competition, as well as just getting started in this unique hobby. Plenty of fun is to be had as the talk of anime (including Violet Evergarden) and mixing in some intriguing Q+A. Be sure to check out this session if you have ever considered cosplaying or just wanna have a good time!
Welcome to Session #13 of AniMonday! Our lovely hosts touch on the anime they have seen recently, including a bit on the excellent Vinland Saga and the odd "I Got Rejected, So I Shaved", before discussing the developments in Spy x Family episode 9. Yuri pushes for "proof" of Loid's place in Yor's life and gets more than he bargained for. Loid experiences a degree of regret for testing Yor while she comes to terms with her feelings of inadequacy as the mother of the Forger family. Next week, a master level cosplayer joins our hosts to discuss the aspects of competing in cosplay!
This AniMonday has a special guest! Audrey (IG: @kowaiplanet) joins J, Cars, and Kenny B as they delve into some of the power systems in anime. Bleach and Hunter x Hunter take main stage as the crew explore how the characters gain their powers in their perspective series, as well as balancing those abilities throughout. Audrey lends her passion and knowledge of anime and manga to this session for maximum fun nerdiness! Don't miss out on this class!
Welcome to session 11 of AniMonday! The gang still hasn't learned to stay on topic, but hey, nothing like a few tangents to spice things up. Spy x Family episode 8 is the main topic, as the hosts explore the introduction of Yuri and the reactions of different characters to the Forger's marriage. Talks of math run through and confuse the crew in addition to mentions of A Streetcar Named Desire and Resident Evil 4 (remake is shiny ooooooh). Enjoy the episode!
Welcome back to AniMonday! This week's exploration of anime finds J, Kenny B, and Cars delving into mentor relationships and personal growth in anime (and manga)! They discuss My Hero Academia, Naruto, and Vagabond as the main focus, with some exploration of Kids on the Slope, as well. They roll off on typical tangents and discuss music, Foley work, and additional topics. The crew share some personal mentors from which they found room to grow. Will you agree with the importance of the characters the hosts chose or do you think that there are better examples of mentors within anime/manga?
On this week's AniMonday session, the crew break down more Spy x Family. There is a lot of focus on what it is to interact and bond as a family, as well as the importance of communication. As they often do, J, Cars, and Kenny B correlate the anime to real life interactions; getting a bit into their personal lives in the process. Cars is now creating the Feed Me Whisky brand or something and the gang go on a tangent about high-level monsters (bugs) in the Arizona desert. Have fun!
Hosts J and Cars explore the various worlds of isekai, delving deep into the saturated market. What is isekai? Where did it start? Where is it going? What elements make a good isekai and what have the inflated-title, copy/paste entries done for the genre? J and Cars then move back into coverage of Spy x Family and the chaos of anime. Wow, I'm awful at synopsis writing, but yeah, have fun!
Hosts Robert and Kenny B carry on some weeb talk in J's absence. Several listeners sent in questions for us to tackle and entertain us all! The duo discuss a variety of anime and lead into future session topics, as well as lay down some smack talk. Listen in to see where the podcast is going and get a deeper understanding of Cars' and Kenny B's thoughts on certain anime topics. This week's AniMonday session finds the hosts gushing about episode 5 of Spy x Family. Is this the best anime of the season? They seem to believe so! Listen to find out why and explore tangents such as Mob Psycho 100 and a little bit of Star Wars talk. J, Cars, and Kenny B discuss the various elements of episode 5 that made it such a fun watch and how it erased any doubt as to their expectations. Our planned guest had to reschedule; so, expect a fun chat about cars and itasha builds in the near future!
Another AniMonday drop! Join J, Cars, and Kenny B as they review episodes 3 and 4 of Spy x Family! The Forgers prepare for the prestigious school's interview, but when they finally make it in, things are worse than they expected. Though they have planned for more than any reasonable person would, the interview itself reveals more about Loid, Yor, and Anya as they each hit breaking points! Listen in as the crew speculate on what is going through the characters' heads, as well as what may occur in future episodes. There is a bit of Gaming and Bruce Lee discussion, too! Which team are you - Xbox or Playstation?
This week's session has the crew discussing voice acting and production with a guest - Will Shupe. Will is a voice actor that shares some rad stories and insight based on his experiences with the industry. Join J, Cars, and Kenny B as they learn a ton about what goes on behind the scenes. Will shares some of his favorite memories, as well as touches on emotional and relatable content. Also in this session: is Attack on Titan a mecha anime?!
Howdy! In this week's session, J, Cars, and Kenny take you through more Spy x Family breakdowns. There is a bit of a review, a bit of nonsense, and a lot of fun! They discuss the new waifu, Yor, and dive deep into the VA's history! Takuya Eguchi and Saori Hayami certainly have a lot of experience and the crew share their thoughts on where this anime will go. There is a lot of information in this session, as well as some silly tangents to keep you entertained. Stay tuned for Session #04, as the podcast features its first guest!
