Bonus Episode Interview with Chris Hammer! Jade and Chiara got to sit down with the author of the book that everyone is talking about, SCRUBLANDS! He spoke about what inspired him to write his fantastic debut, what he’s working on next, what Aussie lingo words are a little lost in translation when working on his edit for the UK and US markets and answered many more questions and shared a whole lot of insights with them. Thanks to Chris & Allen & Unwin for making this happen. Boozy Banter recommendations: Chris loved Byron Bay, he said it’s the ultimate place for books and booze (sounds like Jade & Chiara need to take a trip!!) and has been enjoying meeting lots of authors while doing his book tour. As far as what he’s watching he really enjoyed Hotel Beau Séjour on Netflix, a Danish mystery with a serious twist! Jade finished The Sinner and loved it, even if it did get a bit weird at the end! And of course binge watching Masterchef plus cooking for Mark! And spent most of her reading time finishing up Scrublands. Chiara is finishing up Good Me Bad Me by Ali Land and enjoyed sweet romcom Set It Up on Netflix while recovering from being unwell.
Join Jade and Chiara for episode 3 of Books and Booze as they go out of their comfort zone and dive into the world of contemporary! There’s some newly coined bookish lingo, viewers questions, Boozy Banter, and their frustrations with people being nasty to other Bookstagrammers. Wine enjoyed in this episode: Jade devoured a delicious glass (or 3...) of the Australian 2016 Saltram Pepperjack Shiraz from Barossa. Chiara enjoyed a stunning Italian Pinot Grigio called The Killer. Many thanks as always for tuning in. If you liked listening please be sure to rate, review and subscribe.
