A few months ago I was on a high I felt like I was working on everything that I wanted to accomplish and out of nowhere I just stopped. I made excuses and told myself it was because I'm tired, or I needed a break or work-life balance. 4 weeks went by and I was getting worse and worse and moving further and further from my goals. I accepted my behaviors as proof that I am all the negative things I say about myself. I'm an imposter, lazy, inconsistent, and indecisive person. I stumbled upon a video talking about self-sabotage that I ignored but over the next couple of weeks that word kept coming back to me so I decided to explore the concept and guess what I found out— I am a self sabatour. In this episode we will be defining and discussing sabotage and its effects on yourself and your relationship, how to recognize sabotage in your relationship, and tips and advice to work through it. We open the show with two questions from people who think they are aromantic. One of them is a woman with two sweet boyfriends, but worries she's not giving each of them what they deserve. The other is a gay man who has never felt the jolt and tingle of new love. Will he ever be swept off his feet? Our caller is starting a female-only book club reading works by, for and about women. A male friend of hers offered to be their naked servant, making drinks and offering snacks to the clothed attendees. The caller is delighted to make this happen, but there's a hitch… On the Magnum, we suspect that some of you might have Relationship OCD. Dan interviews Sheva Rajaee who literally wrote the book about it. They talk about how we put irrational expectations on relationships (the myth of “The One” for example ) and how anxiety can govern our romantic lives rather than good ole intuition. And, a man has a big, big crush on his co-worker. She is crushing right back. However! She is married with 4 little kids. Their industry is high-pressure, unique and they work closely together. They haven't consummated their attraction for each other yet. But for how long can he live in limbo? This episode is brought to you by Squarespace. They make it easy to build a website or blog. Lovely, Lovely Listeners! Hernease here! I hope this is finding you all as well as possible as we run into Labor Day weekend in the U.S. I'm popping onto your podcast feed with a quick note to say the episode this week is obviously delayed! But, we'll be back soon to cover the Peacock episode with Nayland. We may go backwards a little bit where Patricia and I talk about this upcoming Avant Garde episode before we talk about Prajjé's life long history of peacocking, the ogling and objectifying of our male models… once AGAIN, how male peacocking is kind of a redundant term for us humans, and some great listener theories about how maybe this whole episode or maybe even this entire SEASON is a kind of advertisement for NBC's streaming service… Peacock?? We will get to those, the clothes, and the state of our beloved designers at this late phase of the competition very soon. So in the meantime, you can strut your stuff in the form of words and pictures on the discord, on our Patreon page, on Instagram or Facebook, and of course, you may email us at intheworkroom@gmail.com . When some children make mistakes or get overwhelmed, they jump quickly to self criticism and even self hate: “I'm terrible! I suck! You don't love me!” What does this mean? Is it a red flag? And how should parents react? In this recast of a popular Season 4 episode, Lynn discusses the traps to avoid and the family skills to promote when this dramatic pattern takes hold. Try our coffee!! - www.CriminalCoffeeCo.com and use code "Back2School" On the morning of June 4th, 2010, seven year old Kyron Horman was brought to his elementary school by his stepmother so that he could show her his science fair project. Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon was having a science fair that day, and although the school would normally open at 8:35 AM, that morning the doors were unlocked at 8AM, to give the students a chance to tour the fair with their families. At around 8:45 AM, Kyron's stepmother Terri Moulton Horman took a photograph of Kyron standing in front of his project, a detailed diorama of the red-eyed tree frog. He beamed proudly at the camera through his wire rimmed glasses, and then, according to Terri, she walked him to his classroom and watched him enter. But when attendance was taken that day, Kyron Horman was not present, and he would never be seen again. His mother Desiree Young would later say quote, “it's like a portal opened up in the school and Kyron just vanished into it” end quote. The search for Kyron has been the largest criminal investigation in Portland history, but to this day there has been no sign of what happened to him, where he went, or who he was with. Making Sense of Insurance Billing and Client Referral Services for Therapists Curt and Katie chat about a lot of the different services that therapists can sign up for to provide therapy. We talk about Alma, Headway, TalkSpace, BetterHelp, etc. We also look at what therapists should consider when deciding which service to sign up for (or whether they should). Transcripts for this episode will be available at mtsgpodcast.com! In this podcast episode we explore therapist insurance referral services like Alma and Headway We've been asked to weigh in on insurance referral services like Alma and Headway. We explore the different things to consider when choosing a service to sign up for. What client referral services should therapists sign up for? · Betterhelp and TalkSpace models do not include insurance billing and pay therapists very little. We do not recommend therapists sign up as providers on BetterHelp and TalkSpace. · Alma, Headway, and other similar models get therapists credentialed, bill insurance, etc. · These services are very different and there are a lot of choices for therapists to make What are questions therapists should consider when deciding which therapist referral service to sign up for? · Can I actually use these platforms? · How quickly am I credentialed and how many different panels can I sign up for? · Will this service get me clients? · How many clients are they going to get you? · Are the insurance benefits checks accurate? · What does customer service look like? · What are the rates they pay therapists? · Is there a minimum number of clients you're expected to see? · What benefits are included for therapists (like CEs, group meetings, EHR, etc.) · What do you want your practice to look like? · What purpose will this platform serve for my practice? For example, are you wanting to get more clients or are you wanting to add insurance billing capacity (or both)? Concerns about digital therapy platforms and insurance referral services · The tendency for things to change as startups grow · Privacy concerns from app-based therapy apps (like BetterHelp and TalkSpace, etc.) · Systemic impacts of tech companies negotiating with insurance companies instead of therapists · Most are set up as 1099 businesses versus W2 employee models and seem to skirt some labor laws and put liability on the therapist Stay in Touch with Curt, Katie, and the whole Therapy Reimagined #TherapyMovement: Our Linktree: https://linktr.ee/therapyreimagined Patreon Buy Me A Coffee Modern Therapist's Survival Guide Creative Credits: Voice Over by DW McCann https://www.facebook.com/McCannDW/ Music by Crystal Grooms Mangano https://groomsymusic.com/

Oh Lordy, hear the tale of the twisted teen! He's been sneaking into neighbors' houses and stealing their sex toys, including some from elderly women. How dangerous is this kid? Should someone call the cops? How can his long-suffering mother correct him and end this behavior? What do you do when you're disgusted by your girlfriend squirting? What do you do when you're repulsed by your boyfriend coming in your mouth? Two separate calls, one conundrum. On the Magnum, Dan and Atlantic writer Faith Hill confront the misconception that rebound relationships are inferior or doomed. Hill brings up research showing that rebounds can help people heal from break ups and often blossom into long term relationships themselves. A TOTAL NERD (with a girlfriend) has built himself a makeshift sex robot. Using a fleshlight, VR goggles and maybe paperclips, the caller wonders if jacking it into this bride of Frankenstein is an act of infidelity. When they want something done and their child isn't doing it, they talk even more. A marriage without faith is not sustainable. I know that is a politically charged statement for some but hear us out. We have been on both sides of the spectrum where we have done it without God, and we've done it with God and we have found that our relationship has thrived and grown in ways we could have never imagined because we put Christ at the center of our relationship. In this episode, we want to discuss specific cultural topics that affect the way people see relationships and the reasons why people don't want to add faith to their relationships. Things such as abuse in relationships, infidelity, divorce, purity culture etc. We also talk about our specific experience, the then and the now, and of course we end with lots of tips and advice for those of you who are walking the walk of faith in marriage. Happy birthday America, damn you're kinky! This week's show features a ton of calls by the kinky, those who love them, or those who are considering becoming them. Let's dive in. A woman and her bestie are no longer speaking to each other. Why? Because she refuses to help change out the caller's labia piercing jewelry. A switch woman (she can either be the dom or sub,) isn't into humiliation. But all her partners assume she is or try to push her into it. How can she be clear about this simple hard no? On the Magnum, it's Mollena a.k.a “the Perverted Negress” or “The Kink Doula.” She and Dan talk about how to get started with S&M gradually, how doms have feelings too, and the rookie mistake of assuming your sub is willing to be a 24/7 slave. Until you do some planning and negotiation, you don't just get a free laundress. A woman lives in a community that has a lot of traumatized war veterans and refugees. She is into varsity level rough sex. She recently demanded that her lover hit her harder even though she already had a black eye. Is she some kind of monster?
