Carrie passed her Part 3 just two days before we recorded this episode. She talks about her experience of the qualifying process and the pressure of having to go to a third attempt to pass her Part 3 test. She also tells of the reasons why she chose to become a driving instructor and the support materials that were used (Go Green). Modesty forbids me to say who her trainer was but maybe having to go to a third attempt isn't the greatest advert?! Anyway I am sure a lot of people will empathise with Carrie when it comes to the trials and tribulations of the whole qualifying process. I hope you enjoy this episode - if you do please give it a 'like'! . Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

How does an online start-up morph into a national brand with a brick-and-mortar presence in one of the best retail markets between Atlanta and DC? Girl Tribe Co Co-Owners Sarah Baucom and Carrie Barker radiate a female empowerment vibe that is about community and supporting fellow women-owned businesses. What started as a pop up shopping and networking event has grown into a national brand. Listen along as we discuss the formation of Girl Tribe with co-owners and founders Carrie Barker and Sarah Baucom.
Girl Tribe is a boutique apparel, pop up and creative company that does it all. I sat down with co-founders Carrie Barker and Sarah Baucom to talk about sharing the load of running this incredible Charlotte company. Find them on IG- @girltribeco or girltribeco.com
If you live in Charlotte, you've probably heard about the Girl Tribe. In four years, best friends Carrie Barker and Sarah Baucom have made a name for the Girl Tribe brand, opened a store, added an online shopping site, and even expanded their concept to five other cities around the South. And they join us on the BrandBuilders Podcast to tell us how it all got started.
You know the Girl Tribe girls, Carrie Barker and Sarah Baucom. But do you know their boys, Derek and Ryan? Well, you will after listening in on the triple date night we had with them. You’ll learn how Carrie and Sarah turned a high school “close acquaintanceship” into two besties starting and now running one of the fastest growing businesses in Charlotte, why none of us will be chairing our local chapters of the La Leche League anytime soon, and that “be the scientist” is the relationship advice you never knew you needed. Listen in and enjoy getting to know the masterminds behind this powerful business turned #girlpower movement, and their super supportive partners who help free them up enough to make it all happen. Jake, in particular, was pumped to commiserate (ahem... hear from) some other dads who do heavy lifting kiddo duties. And to accidentally play for the girls' team during Catchphrase. AGAIN. We’d love to hear from you! Please share, comment and also suggest ideas for future guests! For past episodes please visit jakeandpage.com.
In 2014, Sarah Baucom and her high school classmate, Carrie Barker, founded Girl Tribe Co. Both women were starting families, and their brand came before their product. They knew they wanted a brand that would empower women, but were not sure what their product would be. Fast forward 5 years, and Sarah now has two young daughters and a thriving business. Sarah and Carrie's business started with graphic t-shirts, and has become a retail shop and a traveling pop-up show featuring women-owned businesses. Sarah and I shared a lot of laughs as we talked about Girl Tribe's famous van (named Becky), the unique away message Sarah used during her last maternity (she totally channeled her inner royal princess), and the beginnings of the businesses. But we also talked about the pressures small businesses face in our current digital world, and the difficulties in transitioning from our "work energy" to our "mom energy" levels at home. When it comes to leaving a legacy, Sarah has a vision and a goal, and as a 30-something entrepreneur, there is no doubt she'll reach her goals. You're going to find Sarah to be a fun bundle of energy with clear focus and dedication to her work, her business partner, and, most importantly, her family. Check out Sarah on Instagram at @sarahbaucom and Girl Tribe on Instagram at @girltribeco and online at www.girltribeco.com.
