No, the success of your marriage speaks volumes to everyone who knows you, especially those who know you're a Christian. Why Your Marriage Is Bigger Than You Think about it: if people know you follow Jesus, but your marriage falls apart, what does that say about the relevance of Jesus in your life? About the Bible? About the power of God? Yes, divorce is painful for the children—but it's also painful spiritually for everyone who witnesses it. We're supposed to be making disciples of all people, right? So when our marriage breaks down, we're tarnishing the very witness we're meant to live out. I say this from personal experience. My first marriage ended in divorce, and I carry that pain and regret. It wasn't a biblical divorce—I had to plead the blood of Jesus over it. But I've repented, I've been forgiven, and now I've made a decision: I will never again allow my marriage to dishonor the name of Jesus. I want the same for you. It's Time to Prioritize Marriage—for the Gospel If you're reading this, there's a good chance your faith is already strong. You want biblical answers, not pop psychology. Thank you. If I can help you have a great marriage, your work for the Kingdom becomes that much easier. But let's be real. Marriage is hard. It's easy to get selfish. It's easy to get frustrated with your spouse being a messy, imperfect human (just like we are!). But we can't stay in that space. We've got to pull ourselves out of our self-centeredness and serve. Husbands, Scripture calls you to die for your wife. Wives, we're called to submit to our husbands. I know—it's not easy. Believe me, I don't like that verse either. I've struggled with being a controlling wife. But control is rooted in fear. And fear means I'm not trusting God. When both spouses choose to obey God, not based on their spouse's actions but based on God's call—that's where transformation begins. We're not left wondering what marriage is supposed to be. God gave us His Word. It's the most printed, most transformative book in human history. You don't have to guess what it means to be a godly husband or wife—it's all there. Marriage: God's Tool for Healing Your spouse can hurt you the most—or they can be the very instrument God uses to heal you the most. I've lived both. And I want to be the kind of wife who makes my husband's meeting with Jesus even better because he was married to me. What if that was your motivation? That your love could heal your spouse. That your encouragement could empower them into God's purpose for their life. That your gentle presence could become their safe space in this tough world. That's the kind of love Jesus shows us—and the kind we're called to give. Love Your Spouse the Way They Receive Love This is one of our core teachings at DYM: love your spouse the way they receive love. The Bible tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves. That means not giving chocolate ice cream if they love vanilla. It means learning what makes them feel safe, respected, cherished. Husbands need to feel safe, known, and cherished. It's an amazing starting point to grow in loving your spouse practically and biblically.) Growth Is the Goal Friend, you didn't find this blog because you're failing. He sees every unseen act of love, every sacrifice, every decision to forgive. We don't get to skip the suffering. Jesus didn't. Paul didn't. In fact, suffering is often God's tool for growth, purification, and transformation. But you don't have to do this alone. There's help. There's hope. The European Recycling Platform (ERP), Ireland's only pan-European compliance scheme for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Waste Batteries continues their Sustainability Partnership with St. Patrick's Festival, coinciding with their 20th anniversary in Ireland. ERP, in collaboration with artist group FORJA Works, has created a WEEE-inspired installation entitled 'EcoTrashShip' that will take festivalgoers on a mission to reduce electrical waste on Earth while reaching for the stars! With research showing that 1 in 3 people are hoarding unused or broken electrical items in their homes, ERP is encouraging everyone to Go Green and Boldy Recycle their electrical waste. EcoTrashShip The ERP 'EcoTrashShip' is a fun, space-themed installation that stands over 16 feet tall, is fully solar powered, and is composed of more than 100 electrical items, such as TVs, laptops, phones, and cables, which are some of the most frequently recycled electrical items in Ireland. Research conducted by Coyne Research in January 2025 revealed that 1 in 5 (20%) people in Ireland recycled old TVs in the past 12 months, 1 in 6 (17%) recycled old mobile phones, and 1 in 8 (13%) recycled old laptops. Since the WEEE Directive was launched in Ireland in 2005, ERP has collected almost 220,000 tonnes of WEEE, and 4,500 tonnes of batteries in Ireland - that's 480 times the weight of the International Space Station! This year's St. Patrick's Festival theme, Adventures (Eachtraí), celebrates the adventurous spirit that defines Irish culture. The ERP 'EcoTrashShip' aligns with this spirit by blending art and activism, aiming to inspire change and highlights ERP's commitment to a circular future where nothing goes to waste. James Burgess, Country General Manager of ERP Ireland said: "What if your old kettle, laptop, or hairdryer became part of a spaceship? When you recycle your electrical waste, these products are broken down, and the materials can be reused. Techies Go Green has revealed the findings of a recent survey which found that just over half (54%) of companies have a formal sustainability policy or strategy in place. The research - which involved 41 business and technology professionals - found that a further 39% are developing a formal sustainability policy or strategy. Almost three quarters of respondents (73%) said sustainability is very important in their company's overall strategy. Furthermore, some 63% include sustainability criteria when selecting partners or suppliers. Despite this, 29% of technology or business leaders do not currently track their carbon emissions and 32% track them but have not set specific targets. Meanwhile, less than a third (32%) of organisations publicly report on their sustainability efforts. Of those who do not, 35% are planning to start. The research was conducted to mark Techies Go Green Live, the first live event hosted by the community which saw more than 100 Techies Go Green members discuss strategies that enhance sustainability practices and reduce carbon footprints. The event comes as Techies Go Green reaches new heights, having surpassed 600 members across Ireland and abroad. Over the next 18 months, it is aiming to grow to 1,000 members. The community has also developed a Climate Action Roadmap - a strategic guide offering 100 actionable options to help organisations reduce their carbon footprint and advance towards net zero. Speaking about its latest survey findings, Michael O'Hara, Co-Founder of Techies Go Green, said: "It's understandable that businesses are at different stages of their green journeys and while our research indicates that more progress is needed, the outlook is promising. Not only are organisations placing more of a focus on sustainability, but they are also implementing formal policies and joining communities like Techies Go Green. "Our reach, as demonstrated by our rapidly increasing membership base, will only continue to grow. Furthermore, the ways in which we are supporting companies in achieving their climate goals will only continue to expand - for instance, through our Climate Action Roadmap. Usually I like to get the back story of a guest, and get to the point where their life changed to be more sustainable, but Alexa doesn't have that - she grew up in a pretty sustainable household, and just extended it to include the rest of the world.In her social media, she touches on shopping small, to support local businesses instead of padding the pockets of the ultra rich - and also to stop the big trucks from polluting the air. She talks about keeping our oceans clean, and why that's important (her parents own a scuba diving business in FL, so she's very passionate about the ocean). She talks about imperfect sustainability, and why we shouldn't focus on doing EVERYTHING, but do what we're able to, and if everyone did what they could, we can make a real difference. This is probably ignorance on my part but my eyebrow always went crooked when I heard digital agencies, hosting companies, saas products, or any online entrepreneur talking about how they're a “green” company.It's not like we're a manufacturing company or chemical plant with waste and pollutants. We work on a computer at home…so how can we “go green?” Use less paper? Recycle old equipment? What else can we do?Well, it turns out there are a lot of ways to contribute to sustainability and to do our part in protecting our environment even while working from home or in a coworking space as a web designer.That's why I'm excited to bring back onto the podcast Adela Mei, a trusted source for this topic because, while she's a web designer and strategist, she came from a previous career in environmental work and saw much of what most of us don't see first hand while working in the amazon.From what we as web designers can do day to day to help contribute to sustainability, to the surprising toll data storage takes on the environment globally and more, I found this conversation very educational and eye opening.And side note, if you heard the recent podcast on getting grant funding, one aspect to help your cause is to have green initiatives in your business (and on your website).
