Despite an increase in new cases and deaths, the government began gradually reopening the economy on June 1. The capital Mexico City is still under a strict lockdown with more than 77,000 cases there and in its greater metropolitan region. *)Liverpool clinches Premier League title after 30 years Liverpool fans gathered at Anfield football stadium at night to celebrate the club's first Premier League title in 30 years. Chelsea's 2-1 win over Manchester City confirmed the Reds as champions in England's Premier League for the 19th time. Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp dedicated the win to the fans and took a moment to recognise the part played by former players and managers in building the club.
