Our guest this week for our 30th episode is Eric Pearce, who you may know from his radio show Mixed Media Radio on KTRU 96.1 FM, as a member of Burning Bones Press and/or his time as an art teacher! Eric is a very well-rounded individual who has been a part of various music scenes for years as an artist and, for a short stint, as a musician. He's provided album artwork, flyer art, t-shirt art and more to various bands over the years. His show, Mixed Media Radio, touches on the place where visual art and music merge. His guests are artist, musicians or sometimes someone who creates in both realms. Music and graphic art go hand in hand so it was a treat to sit down with Eric. We hope you enjoy the interview. MALSI's sound is characterized by complex vocal production that blends genres such as R&B, jazz, soul, and pop. The two discuss how they connected and their creative processes behind their art. The two take an intuitive approach to their crafts and utilize an artistic approach to expressing personal concepts. We hope you enjoy the conversation recorded October 2, 2021!Stream Simpatico & MALSI's latest single "Honey + M"!Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/6C1HvOUknq5tQRewSshxbd?si=b6f7a46fcf134751Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/us/album/honey-m-single/1584063608YouTube: https://youtu.be/Uy_S2DKTRVITidal: https://tidal.com/browse/track/196176141Follow Simpatico:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/simpatico.music/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/simpatico.officialYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq1lCVkJgBXRkOm_RMSJ1IQ/videosFollow MALSI:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/musicbymalsi/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/musicbymalsiYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwhQpp1uLpbl1M0MZHoEulQTwitter: https://twitter.com/musicbymalsiSimpatico Bio:Simpatico is a producer from South Los Angeles. Describing his style as ‘Lofi Electro-Chill R&B,' the young artist creates a dreamy nostalgic world of sounds with his lush and expansive productions. It's the type of music that transports the listener to another level where they can forget their troubles one song at a time.Growing up in LA, he fell in love with the passionate release of rock music, (having played in different musical acts) but it was the discovery of French house producer Darius that inspired him to start producing. After a few years as a hobbyist, he decided to make a career out of it in 2018. His official debut is the single ‘Moonrise,' a chilled-out instrumental with nostalgic spacey vibes perfect for nights in candlelight. His most popular single “Tonight” features the talented up and coming smooth singer Ivylesson who brings a catchy, sexy, yet nostalgic track about romance overseas.MALSI Bio:MALSI is a singer, songwriter, and producer who fuses her favorite elements of R&B, jazz, soul, and pop to create emotionally jarring and cutting-edge music. Her trademark is in vocal production. Before becoming MALSI, she sang lead vocals in the jazz/funk band Jesus, the Crazy, and the Bad Kids. Her band was a two-time winner of the KTRU Battle of the Bands, winning the opening act for Slim Thug at KTRU's annual music festival. JCBK released one self-titled album shortly before breaking up. Soon after becoming MALSI, she released her self-produced debut album, Hades. Hades is a powerhouse of soul, catchy and vibrant with ten tracks all penned by herself during various points of her life. Her fans say it's a “unique combination of instrumentation that just works” paired with “moody, galaxy vocals.” Soon after the release, she started gaining radio play on college and community stations spanning from coast to coast.Since the first album, her career skyrocketed; she's dropped 18 singles and 3 music videos (with a fourth currently in the works), landing her features in Medium, Voyage LA, TOO MUCH LOVE Magazine, among other online magazines and blogs. These releases also landed her placements on several playlists along with a devoted, growing fanbase. And, despite catching the eye of a major label, she's chosen to stay independent. Her newest single, Honey + M, is a collaboration between Simpatico (producer) and herself (vocals/lyrics) that dropped September 24, 2021.Stay connected with Harmonic Heart:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCruA_T8kDgolElZhDk3gDlQInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/harmonicheartblog/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/HarmonicHeartBlogTwitter: https://twitter.com/harmonichearttvTik Tok: https://vm.tiktok.com/veWwrL/Learn more about Chris Mallett:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1gSKALhg824qNSvkP1HQ6WYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkUJIuWM_vuY17caX6Qm3dwInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrismallettmusic See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
