They Beyond is a film that while filled with A level gore is also a bit of an art film. It's also a haunted house film which fits perfectly with releasing it on Halloween.

Bloody zombies roam there. A young woman who is heir of the hotel wants to restore it, but she is confronted with a series of strange events. A painter has a lethal fall, the plumber vanishes, and her friend breaks his neck. When she escapes to the hospital of a friendly doctor she doesn't know - a nightmare is waiting there... We're back! We discuss recent films we've seen and then dive into the amazing hellscape that is Lucio Fulci's The Beyond! We bask in the glory that is David Warbeck! We recoil in terror at the gooey-gory set pieces! We dig into the eyeball trauma that Fulci ramps up to 6000% in this film! There's zombies! There's head trauma! There's carnivorous spiders! There's satanic painters! There's ghost dogs! And so much more! Plus we're joined by two very special guests!

We did it guys; insert-arbitrary-number-here of episodes! After brief discussion of the weather and disease, our intrepid hosts mine the same evergreen wells as previous casts: FFX! Dr. Dekker! There are also some recommendations of The Witness and A Ghost Story, before the cast takes a sideways flying kick into the world of anime - Death Note, Naruto and Paranoia Agent all get a healthy natter-about. Also, the King of Segues makes a triumphant return... by accident. This week's focus was of course Lucio Fulci's The Beyond - a dripping good time set in Swamptown, Louisiana. Following a rather inconvenient case of bricked-in-warlock-in-the-basement, the owner of a hotel that happens to be on a gateway to Hell gets some people in to renovate, who soon find their employment being... dissolved. Gruesome practical effects and the customary eye-gauging scene are deployed with aplomb here, so maybe don't sit in the front row. Plus, what an ending - nighmare fuel.
