The story so far: Three boys are trapped in an underground movie store run by a moleman named MoleMan and bide their time watching trash films and going on stupid adventures. This week, Eric is still out on some sort of mission...maybe?...but we're visited by a new underground-dwelling friend, Jarrett the Goblin King! And since we can't decide what movie to watch, Jarrett decides for us and we pop in the meta-horror mocumentary Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon! Join us as we shower some love onto the film and its found footage/documentary style, while still finding the yannick imagery in Pokemon and discuss how we might murder Dan in the library! All hail the Goblin king! If you dig us, why not check out our other podcast Greg's Cryptid Corner? Sean and Parker are back with a big episode. First up, Parker goes through a rollercoaster of emotion as he ages into obscurity and then resurrects like a phoenix. Sean hasn't been up to much, though. Then the guys do a Last 10 Movies Canonical Rankings of, well, the last 10 movies reviewed on the show. Then they're joined by a mystery guest to discuss Macon Blair's 2025 "Toxic Avenger" remake. It's a reinvention of the world of Tromaville. Is it a success or do the guys dump it into toxic waste and forget about it? Find out! Oh, also beware, we're spoiling much of it. Dublin's leading authority on pace putting and amateur golf joins the podcast this week to share his top five Walker Cup stories from the previous 49 editions of the venerable matchplay tournament between GB&I and the USA, as well as his All-Star squad of 10 players. Darragh is obsessed with the Walker Cup, collecting artefacts from its history, including 48 programmes, crockery from Ganton, blazers from half a century ago, coasters — you name it.While we're grateful to him for giving up his time to join the podcast, deep down we know he needs no encouragement to talk about the event he loves. With the event kicking off with the opening ceremony in a matter of days, it's another brilliant teaser around some of the wonderful history of this event! If you've enjoyed this episode, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify! You can follow us along below @cookiejargolf Instagram / Facebook / Twitter / YouTube / Website

Junk Food Dinner returns with the historic episode 690! To celebrate, we're looking at the first X-rated movie, a horny dog movie and a trashy party comedy!Up first, iconic sleaze director Russ Meyer makes history with the first movie given an X rating by the MPAA (before NC-17 was a thing) with a story about a racist woman, staying in the Canadian wilderness and exploring multiple sexual taboos in Vixen from 1968.Next, Chevy Chase plays an American private eye in London who is killed but returns to Earth as a dog (played by Benji) in order to solve his own murder with the help of his love interest Jane Seymour in Oh! Heavenly Dog from 1980.And finally, a group of college losers attempt to throw an ultimate party in order to save their frat and get even with the jocks who ridicule them in 1989's Assault of the Party Nerds! All this plus TV chat, Kevin's adventures at the movies, the Deathstalker reboot, the Toxic Avenger reboot, a rundown of the latest anime releases and so much more!LISTEN NOW:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. The story so far: The boys are trapped in an underground movie store run by an anthropomorphic moleman. After a year of insane adventures, they start questioning where they might truly be...Magic mole scrolls and random scrawlings litter the place down here, so we dig through in the hopes of figuring out what Moleman might be hiding. But then the existential dread hits us...and what if we're actually in the afterlife? Like Lost? No...probably more like Jacob's Ladder (1990)! So we pop it in the VCR and ruminate on our lives by discussing our chiropractor experiences, Greg's history with My Girl, our favorite Albert Camus books, and An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge! It's not exactly a Niku Daruma, but it's close! Sean and Parker return to discuss some weird things this week. First, it's hate-watching Bill Maher and youtubers and Parker went to see "Weapons." After that, Sean introduces a new game show. Is it "Mike" or "Psych" as Parker is quizzed on how well he knows everyone's favorite Japanese director, Rikishi Mike. Then, the guys discuss the less successful director, Takashi Miike, and his 2014 film, "As the Gods Will." The movie, based on a manga, as is pretty common, features a violent daruma doll, bored gods and a very violent day at school. Send us a textNarratives and identity fundamentally shape our political beliefs more than facts or reason. The stories we tell ourselves matter deeply in how we form our worldviews and interpret reality.• The "stolen election" narrative caught on not because of evidence but because it reinforced existing identity frameworks• Political tribalism works similarly to religious adherence - both use narratives to create belonging and define outsiders• Biblical stories like Joshua's conquest of Canaan serve contemporary political purposes regardless of historical accuracy• Mary Magdalene's portrayal evolved from Jesus's most trusted apostle to reformed prostitute as institutional church power grew• AI systems like Grok, ChatGPT and others reflect their creators' goals and can shape perception in targeted ways• Media sources reinforce tribal identities rather than attempting to persuade those on the opposite side• Bipartisanship on issues like immigration fails because performative opposition serves identity needs better than pragmatic solutionsAmerica's political division continues to worsen as we increasingly view those with different political orientations as enemies rather than fellow citizens with different perspectives. We need to restore humanity to our political discourse before tribalism tears the country apart.Follow Noah Kennedy athttps://noahkennedy.net/His bookhttps://www.amazon.com/Industrialization-Intelligence-Mind-Machine-Modern/dp/0044403453/ref=sr_1_1?sr=8-1Check these sources out1440Ground NewsNew PaperAll SidesSupport the showFollow your host atYouTube and Rumble for video contenthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUxk1oJBVw-IAZTqChH70aghttps://rumble.com/c/c-4236474Facebook to receive updateshttps://www.facebook.com/EliasEllusion/Twitter (yes, I refuse to call it X)https://x.com/politicallyht LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/eliasmarty/

(00:00) Beetle and McKone begin the third hour by playing This or That! (12:03) The crew continues taking calls and reactions to today’s This or That and if we would rather be the best at an obscure sport or worst MLB reliever. (26:02) The guys talk about darts and if poker should be considered in this category. (35:51) We finish the hour talking about one trade, firing, or hiring that would make the biggest turnaround for the Red Sox.
It's the end of the Light Gun miniseries and we're down to our last remaining bullets. Now it's time for each host to shoot their shot on their pick of an obscure or underrated Light Gun arcade game. Did it finally happen? Did we pick the same game?! Adam brings the cinematic rage with his choice. Jarrod channels familiar territory with a game made by familiar people from a familiar company. Rob goes rogue with a controversial game that may or may not break all the rules (we'll let you decide). The listener questions in this episode include our favorite of the light gun games, how we define toys versus action figures, and our least favorite game from our favorite arcade company. Tax breaks for whale captains in Alaska and spaceport builders were among the lower-profile perks included in the GOP's $3.4 trillion tax-and-spending law enacted this month. The policies were necessary to gain votes of Republican holdouts, enabling the measure to pass in both the Senate and House in time for GOP lawmakers' self-imposed July 4 deadline. The law moved through Congress faster than many predicted, and some lawmakers are seeking changes to provisions in the law already generating criticism, such as a change to the deduction amount for wagering losses. The Republican majority's use of the reconciliation process, which allowed the measure to pass without any Democratic support, does not portend well for bipartisanship ahead. In this week's episode of Talking Tax, Bloomberg Tax reporter Chris Cioffi breaks down what Congress could tackle next on the tax front, including what could be in more reconciliation bills in the months and year ahead. And after mistakingly grabbing the wrong movie off the shelf, we sit back to watch the 1986 horror/thriller classic The Hitcher!
