Back from illness, our hosts are joined once again by Wesley, and after some talk of drinking-related events, they dive into some recently played games. Jeff played a less intense version of Hanabi, Zach swindled an office building in Burgle Bros, Welsey found the right letters in Paperback, and Adrian got overwhelmed by money in For-Ex. Jeff gets caught up in the Bloody Minute, and then it is on to News and Kickstarters. In News, Eldritch horror and Inis get more expansions. Then in Kickstarters, the 7th Continent does its second printing and adds another expansion, Near and Far does the same, Tiny Epic Defenders gets a second edition AND an expansion, and our hosts complain about poker chips in GameChips. Our Contest winner for Seven7s is announced and a couple emails close out the show. 00:00:29 - Banter Intro! Our hosts start out the episode by doing a rundown of their past week. Adrian lost some money at Craps in Vegas, then proceeded to try his luck against a new dice game, Dice Forge. Jeff got caught by the box art of Lazer Ryderz, and Zach ran into some walls in Raptor. Jeff then gives us a postseason game rundown in the Bloody Minute, before moving on to News. In News, Netrunner gets a revised core set, expansions from Small World and 7 WOnders are announced, and Kingsburg gets a second edition. In Kickstarters, Stellar Leap Attempts to be a quick 4x game, and Cerebria makes a two player game reminiscent of Pixar’s Inside Out. Some listener emails and another giveaway announcement end the show. 00:00:30 - Banter Intro! In episode 35, Craig pairs up two Word/Deck Building games in a comparison of mechanics and gameplay. First he talks about Paperback from Tim Fowers, the Dominion/Scrabble hybrid, and then he discusses Dexicon from Andrew Rowse and Eagle-Gryphon Games and the new concepts it adds to the almost stale deckbuilding genre. Lastly, Craig digs into Seven7s from Jason Tagmire and Eagle-Gryphon games, discussing its simple deck complexity. Also note, Craig is aware he is terrible at his job. Show Notes: Paperback (Tim Fowers): 8:30 Dexicon (Eagle-Gryphon): 20:30 Seven7s (Eagle-Gryphon): 38:04
Jason and Andy talk about what they've been playing, what's cool on Kickstarter, and race games!
