Oceania Month continues on Episode 181 as Dan, Mitch and Jules welcome to the show Mark, Garth and Leon, aka; The Dicemen Cometh. The Dicemen Cometh have been trailblazers in the Australian Board Gaming scene for the past 10 years or more and they share with us some stories from along the journey, as well sharing their thoughts on some of the most popular games going around today. Exactly how many games are Leon's ‘Favourite Game of All-Time'? Find out in this fun interview. Next the team break down three of the categories from the upcoming Board Game BBQ Awards: Best Light Game, Best Mediumweight Game and Best Heavy Game. You can find the link to the nomination form on all of our socials including Discord, Twitter, Instagram and on our Discord Community. Nominations are open to anyone in the community for three weeks. Facebook, Discord, Instagram, Twitter. Nominate in all 9 categories, or just a few. Once nominations close on Sunday 27th then we take the most-nominated game in each category and they become the official nominees for the BBQ Awards. Then we hand it over to our esteemed panel of judges; our Patreons; to vote. And this will all culminate in the BGBBQ Awards Night which once again will be filmed for YouTube, and we hope to have some surprises on the show as well. In the Board Game Bracket we settle the last match-up, Twilight Imperium 4th Ed vs Targi, before we cue up the next battle: Crokinole vs A Feast For Odin. To make sure your favourite goes through to the next round make sure you vote on our socials. Finally, in Swear An Oath, Mitch played After The Virus but gave up on the solo version of Cerebria, while Dan completed his oaths of Radlands but continues on his mission to crack 70 on Hadrian's Wall, and Jules completes his oath to paint all of his Nemesis creatures but still has Cosmic Frog to play. Our first on-location episode! We recorded this one at Benchtop Brewing in Norfolk, VA! We are in the lull in terms of board games as all the big announcements for the year have already been revealed at GenCon and everything is coming off Kickstarter and going towards fulfillment. Cris and Stephen mention a few new games and beers including the Dawn Chorus by Triple Crossing, the Scythe modular boards and Cerebria! We are also happy to announce our monthly game nights at O'Connor Brewing Co. will be in full swing starting this month! Check out www.tablehops.beer for more details! Do you have a favorite game or beer you think we should try? Do you wanna be on the show? Have a great venue where we should host our game night? ¡Hola, jugadores!

While editing this episode, we realized that we had some unfortunate audio issues, and we apologize for the quality in some parts! Because of this, we edited a little bit more than we usually do, bringing the episode length down a little bit. Hopefully this will clear up the confusion when you hear Aaron talk about how the recording is going long during the episode! The category in this episode is Cerebria, which is a shared theme between two different games from Mindclash Games. Specifically, we’re talking about Cerebria: The Inside World and Cerebria: The Card Game. In our Broader View, we have a discussion about variable player counts in board games. Namely if someone does a job well, they'll be promoted, until such time as they cease doing a job well and persist at that level of ineptitude. We mention this not because it accurately describes the arc of Mark's life both professionally and personally--which, let's face it, it does--but rather because we have decided to promote the AYURIS from off-hand remark into Full Fledged Segment (AYURIS, FFS [tm]). Mindclash Games has certainly earned some momentum with Trickerion and Anachrony before it. Now they hope to keep it moving with this complex, faction vs. faction game where different aspects of a person's psyche vie for ultimate control. Viktor and David talk about the game's origin, mechanisms, levels of interaction, and solo play. As of this recording, you have less than 10 days to go in the campaign, so check it out! In News, Netrunner gets a revised core set, expansions from Small World and 7 WOnders are announced, and Kingsburg gets a second edition. In Kickstarters, Stellar Leap Attempts to be a quick 4x game, and Cerebria makes a two player game reminiscent of Pixar’s Inside Out.
