Murray is a vocalist, songwriter, and actress currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Jamaica, she moved to the U.S. at a young age, where she discovered a growing passion for performance art and decided to pursue theater in high school at Dillard Center for the arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With a soulful, soft, and sultry sound, Sheena prides herself on her range as a Mezzo Soprano, - her ability to hit highs, lows, and in-betweens. Stepping into musical theatre, Sheena has landed roles as Lorrell in Dreamgirls, Aunt Em and Glinda in The Wiz, Medda Larkin in Newsies, and more recently, Rose Parks in Walk On: the Story of Rosa Parks (which toured the eastern United States). We had the pleasure of talking with Miami's very own Sheena O. Murray. Sheena shared how love influences her music. Her melodies paired with her natural gift of writing, her sultry, smooth, yet textured tone, creates a unique and coveted sound that does not fit into a box. She is an individual with an organic sound and honest love for music, with the need to make people feel something. She simply loves to sing and create songs and she desires to make people feel something. Her goal is to remind people that our human emotions are beautiful. To remind people that they are not alone.

Sheena O. Murray is a native of Kingston, Jamaica. She migrated to Brooklyn New York at the tender age of 5, then to Fort Lauderdale, Florida only a few years later. She developed her love for performing arts while trying to belt the 80’s tunes of Whitney Houston and 90’s tunes of Toni Braxton.  Fast forward past heartbreak and uncertainty, she released her first official single, “One’, in 2014, scoring a feature on Soultracks.com. After a successful release of her debut EP, “SOMone”, in 2016,  she took a short creative break and was cast in her first professional show as a star in the musical “Dreamgirls”. Her melodies paired with her natural gift of writing, her sultry, smooth, yet textured tone, creates a unique and coveted sound that does not fit into a box. She is an individual with an organic sound and honest love for music, with the need to make people feel something. She simply loves to sing and create songs and she desires to make people feel something. Her goal is to remind people that our human emotions are beautiful.
