TONY AWARD®, United States Congressional Record & National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress, Hollywood Walk of Fame Inductee 2023!!The Music Historian in ME Loves to Talk to the Legends in Many Niche Careers & Ms. Melba Moore has a unique career in Entertainment!Finding out she's getting a star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023 hasn't stopped Tony Award winner and trailblazing singer, actress, television host and Newark Arts High School graduate Melba Moore from continuing her more than five-decade entertainment career.Marvelous Melba is truly a triple threat in the entertainment industry -- winning top honors in music, theatre and television: American prolific 5 Octave singer and Tony award winning actress.Broadway, Contemporary Soul/R&B, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Gospel and Classical.Melba has NEW Music Compilation called "Imagine'. Already Topping the American & British Soul charts. The title track already being named Soultracks' Song of the Year.Melba Moore has done it all, twice. At the tender age of 10, Melba notes that it was then that she was introduced to music and that “I didn't have any music in my life before my mother married my stepfather. He introduced music into our home and into my life.” From that moment forward, Melba began to develop her 5-octave, note-holding soprano that would soon bring audiences to their feet. Theater: Won a Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for her role in the musical "Purlie," Replaced  Diane Keaton in  the Broadway musical "Hair" Was first African American woman to play the female lead in the musical "Les Misérables" on Broadway. The Newark, NJ Arts High School graduate started doing recording sessions after a chance meeting with singer/songwriter/composer Valerie Simpson (of Ashford & Simpson).  That opportunity in the studio led Melba in the company of the Broadway musical “HAIR!” First in the ensemble of the show, Melba's name was tossed into the conversation when actress Diane Keaton left the show and Melba took the female lead and broke all the rules, being the first Black woman to replace a white actress in a featured role on Broadway. The journey of Melba's career took her meteorically from there to the lead of “PURLIE,” a musical adaptation of a play written by acting husband and wife pioneers Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee.  That role and its musical soundtrack would earn Moore a Grammy nomination as Best New Artist in 1971 and a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress.  The power of her presence on Broadway got Melba noticed and she became a virtual sensation. TelevisionStarred in her own sitcom, "Melba." Melba Moore became so well known that network television offered her a summer variety series.  Starring Melba and actor/singer Clifton Davis, who was starring on Broadway in another show, the duo, who were dating, were given the choice to bring their mass appeal into Middle America.  Music  Celebrated top hits during the70s, 80s and 90s-- "Falling," "You Stepped Into My Life," "Love's Comin' At Ya," and "A Little Bit More" — and others Performed a special rendition of 'Lift Every Voice and Sing'  Merged her inspirational and gospel style in many songs. Soon after the success of the ‘The Melba Moore/Clifton Davis Show,” it was time for her soaring soprano to take her foray into the recording studio. First signed to Buddah Records, Melba had hits like “This Is It,” “Lean On Me” and “You Stepped Into My Life,” garnering Grammy nominations and international success. Later signed to Capitol Records, she followed that success with “Love's Comin At Ya” and then a string of R&B hits followed, including "Read My Lips"—which later won Moore a third Grammy nomination (for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance), making her just the third black artist after Donna Summer and Michael Jackson to be nominated in the rock category.  Hits like the #1 "A Little Bit More" with Freddie Jackson and "Falling," a hypnotic ballad that features one of the longest held notes in recorded history. Moore would also record “Lift Every Voice And Sing” (the Negro National Anthem) at the behest of Dr. Dorothy Height, the president of the National Council of Negro Women, who wanted Moore to use her formidable talent to ensure that the song would reach a new generation.Melba Moore's produced version of “Lift Every Voice and Sing" which was entered into the United States Congressional Record as the official Negro National Anthem in 1990, was just named an ‘American Aural Treasure,' by the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress for Ms. Moore's co-produced recorded rendition of the anthem© 2023 Building Abundant Success!!2023 All Rights ReservedJoin Me on ~ iHeart Media @ https://tinyurl.com/iHeartBASSpot Me on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/yxuy23baAmazon ~ https://tinyurl.com/AmzBASAudacy:  https://tinyurl.com/BASAud

It's rare for the world to experience artistry that is so genuine, so heartfelt...so captivating. Welcome to the world of singer/songwriter, Cleveland P. Jones. He is the true embodiment of soul and jazz. When asked about his future in the music industry, he stated “my mission is longevity, not instant fame. I've learned by example and experience not to rush a good thing." This native of a little town named "North" in South Carolina, started his artistic voyage at an early age under the tutelage of his mother and grandfather who were the lead singers in church. "My mother truly molded me as a singer by watching her sing in the choir and the songs she's played while we cleaned up at home." A graduate of two prestigious institutions, Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Cleveland studied music and theater. From touring with the Morehouse College Glee to playing roles on the stages of Berklee and Spelman College, Cleveland brings a plethora of artistic expressions to the table. While studying at Morehouse, he instantly fell in love with soul and jazz music. "I remember the first time I heard the voice of Little Jimmy Scott...I was sold", he reflects. "It was a voice like mine, and I no longer felt so awkward because of my vocal timbre and vocal expression." During his matriculation at Morehouse, Cleveland discovered many jazz and soul greats like Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Donny Hathaway, and Aretha Franklin who deeply influenced his sound and approach to the art of vocal phrasing.  In 2013, Cleveland released his debut album, "Ace of Hearts" and won the SoulTracks.com's New Artist of The Year award. He also had the honor of opening for soul legend Chaka Khan and was the special guest of The Shadowboxers. His original song, "Don't Leave Me" from his debut album was a major feature in the 2016 Netflix release, "ECHO PARK". In 2017-2018, Cleveland was privileged to tour many cities through out Eastern Europe as a solo artist. Currently, Cleveland is expanding his brand by writing and recording soul, jazz and house music and continues performing nationally and locally. Simply put, Cleveland is committed to deliver unadulterated, timeless music. He is well on his way to higher places, but will always be grounded in his quest to heal souls one song at a time. https://artistecard.com/ClevelandPJones (https://artistecard.com/ClevelandPJones) www.joekelleyradio.com

A native of Mississippi, a state known as the birthplace of the Gospel and the Blues, Maurice Smith has been one of Los Angeles’ most sought after vocalist for the past few years. He has graced the stage with some of the finest artists the music industry has to offer such as Beyonce, Kanye West, Seal, LeAnn Rimes, The Mary Jane Girls, Sy Smith (Who was nominated for “Song of the Year” by SoulTracks.com in 2010), Jessy J (Billboard Jazz charts #1 album, Hot Sauce, in 2011), and DeWayne Wiggins (founding member, writer, and producer for Tony Toni Tone) just to name a few. Maurice Smith has garnered praise from these artists and fans alike. Smith featured with Jessy J at the 2012 Gardena Jazz Festival and quickly became the talk of the festival with a lineup that included, DW3, Kori Withers, and Eric Darius. Along with these performances, Smith was personally asked by DeVon Franklin, Studio Executive at Sony Pictures Entertainment, to perform at his wedding reception following his marriage to actress, Meagan Good, after Franklin caught one of Smith’s highly acclaimed performances. On any given day you can find him serenading audiences throughout the world. Maurice just wrapped up a solo tour of Italy and has released several projects from which he has received high praise. SoulTracks.com compares his EP, Delta Soul to works by Curtis Mayfield. An old soul, Maurice is clearly influenced by the greats. He counts among his influences, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, and Al Green and is often compared to the celebrated tenors of our time such as Stokeley, Raphael Saadiq, El DeBarge, and the greatest of them all Stevie Wonder. His debut EP, Private Use Only; Vol. 1 was released to high praises due to it's sensual nature. And while having a gift for romance, Smith has also released several dance tracks to keep you moving. Smith features with Grammy award winning DJ Terry Hunter on Juan Hoerni’s Soul House track, Love Rewind.

October 3, 2017, he may have made his name playing as part of the James Brown band, but trumpeter Willie Bradley has become a go-to musician for many of soul music’s greats over the years. Willie is readying his new CD, Going With the Flow, and it promises to be a smooth winner. To put a sharper point on that, the first single from the album is out, and it is terrific. Featuring Manhattans lead singer and longtime SoulTracks fave Gerald Alston, “In the Meantime” is a cool midtempo number that borders soul and jazz and that has a positive message of living in harmony at a time of an awful lot of confusion in the world. "This is a distinctly full-bodied, very brassy, well-produced effort that further illuminates this trumpeter who obviously puts his all into what he presents here. Take it to the bank that this is – at the very least — as satisfying as his previous project. A two-thumbs-up album." – Ronald Jackson, The Smooth Jazz Ride. Russell's previous offerings Somewhere In Between (2007) and Confessional - a Soultracks.com ‘must have records' (2010) - are sprinkled with gentle gems like the alluring “2B Loved” and the stripped down, acoustic brilliance of “All Said & Done” to the sexually charged “Hands 2 Myself” and the military cadence of “Fair Game,” and have satisfied the appetites of music lovers the world over. Additionally, Russell has shared the stage with major artists from Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and India.Arie, to legends Isaac Hayes and Patti LaBelle; an amazing fete for an independent artist. The textbook definition of an independent artist, Russell Taylor continues to embrace his freedom on War of Hearts, as he unabashedly takes the helm of his artistry and navigates his own course.  “I made this record full of songs that I'd like to hear,” professes Russell.

Born on Valentine’s Day, this Arizona-born songstress, songwriter & producer had sounds of soul music flowing through her veins at an early age. While voice training in those days started at her grandmother’s church, her professional singing career began as a child when she was chosen to sing background vocals for the legendary Jeffrey Osborne, and for the Rock Band Yes. The former beauty pageant winner decided long ago that music was her true passion and has set her sights on her dream ever since. While studying classical voice at Howard University, Tobin gained stage experiences performing with the school’s Chorale in which during President Clinton’s Inaugural Gala on the National Mall, performing background for Diana Ross, Whitley Phipps, and shared the stage with Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Shai and many others. Having performed demos and background vocals for artists such as Joe, Chico DeBarge, Coolio, Chante Moore, Korea-based Uptown, Coco Lee and Mica Paris has prepared her for her moment to shine as a solo artist. Although most of her influences are male singers like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, Prince, and Donny Hathaway, Tobin is reminiscent of the sultry sounds and richness of R&B or Jazz singers of yesterday. Teri Tobin independently released her critically acclaimed debut LP, LOVE INFINITY, spring 2011. Since then, she has released her first Christmas EP, CHRISTMAS CHILD. Tobin's music can be heard on radio stations worldwide as well as countless podcasts, DirecTV, and on select airlines In-Flight. Her international hit-single "Free" remained at the #1-spot for continuous weeks on various charts in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. Tobin, SoulTracks 2011 Readers' Choice Awards and Independent Music Awards Nominee, is currently touring select cities in the U.S. with her "Love&Sōl LIVE" concert series which kicked-off at the legendary Roxy Theatre in December. On Valentine's Day 2012, she released the title track and first single "So Good to Me" feat. "Away in a Manger" was the first and only song I knew I would put on the EP because it was the first song I remember learning for our Christmas morning church service.

Eric Roberson is the most awarded artist in SoulTracks history. A multiple winner of SoulTracks Readers' Choice Awards, he has been an indie soul leader and an artist who has always brought it. After a two year absence, Erro is back November 8 with a hot new album on Purpose Records/E One Entertainment called Mister Nice Guy It's been eight albums. Usually by the eighth album a fan knows all of his or her favorite artist's tricks, gimmicks, affectations, strengths and weaknesses—fresh surprises are the least expected. So, by this time in an artist's career, some once devoted fans move on, bored with familiar timbre and techniques that once inspired awe and reverence. Others stick around comforted by the familiarity of their musical family friend, hugged by the anticipated experience of hearing their favorite lick, run and harmonic structure redone for the umpteenth time. So, it is with great relief that a listen to Eric “Erro” Roberson's eighth full-length project reveals a young veteran who can still pull a rabbit or several out of his proverbial hat. On Mister Nice Guy, Roberson is both old and new again and the combination reveals an album that's a grower, not a shower in its ability to woo. Surprisingly, from start to finish, it's his most cohesive since Vault 1.0 and his most artistically eclectic release since his 10-year old independent debut, Esoteric.

It has been a long journey since my Gold selling debut back in 2001. I believe that R&B is a way of telling a story. If I've been through something and tell my story through song then I can help somebody dealing with a similar situation. I love to give people something in my music that will affect their lives. This album is to let the world know that I'm back and I thank God that I still have the gift of song that he gave me. Darien Dean is an artist with a purpose. Hailing from Mount Vernon, New York, this soul singer burst onto the scene with alluring vocals and a distinctive stage presence. Fed a healthy diet of Hip Hop and Classic Soul, this multi-talented MC, singer, and dancer, honed his abilities as a producer, arranger and engineer to craft a more authentic approach to contemporary songwriting. A natural born entertainer, Darien’s spirited musical style earned him a coveted spotlight at the 2010 Soul Beach Music Festival in Aruba, opening for Mary J. Blige. He has captured the interest of industry executives and enamored the Capital Jazz Festival audience. He was crowned victor of the Budweiser Superfest 2010 Battle for the Crown of New York and ultimately the Grand Champion of the competition. His humble, yet star-studded rise to fame has placed him amongst the honorable ranks of soul super heavyweights: Kem, Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn, Jazmine Sullivan and others. "If These Walls Could Talk," Darien’s debut album (Righteous Music Records), has been met with much critical success receiving such accolades as Soultracks.com "New Artist of the Year", JazzandSoul.eu, "Top Track of the Year" award as well as Singersroom.com "Artist to Watch in 2010.” International recognition followed the release of his hit single “Alibi”. Darien, presently a favored contender on the global airwaves, has recorded with UK band Reel People. He is licensed under Japanese affiliate BBQ Records, gaining him popularity that knows no cultural divide. Recently, a stateside collaboration with fellow independent artist, Angela Johnson spawned the song "All in Me" which led to a Japanese Tour. Darien’s avant-garde delivery of timeless music w/provocative social themes demands a rooted footing in Soul Music. Twin brothers Kelvis and Kendall Duffie formed Kloud 9 in the tradition of such artists as The Isley Brothers, The Whispers and Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, all of whom the group would go on to appear with on tour. Growing up in a single-parent home in Denver, CO where their mother was a church musician, Kendall and Kelvis started singing in church at an early age. By the age of fourteen they captured the attention of producer Jerry Weaver (former guitarist with Aretha Franklin and producer of Janet Jackson's debut album). With Weaver, Kendall and Kelvis laid the foundation for a music career and began learning the ins and outs of the music business. Weaver formed a gospel group called Meekness which included the Duffies but the group experienced only minor success. When Meekness disbanded, the Duffie twins headed for Nashville to try to further themselves in the music industry. Their experiences there propelled them into careers as record executives with major gospel labels. However their thirst to perform and record never left them and so they decided to form a vocal duo. The name Kloud 9 was derived out the concept of wanting people to experience a mood of ultimate pleasure when listening to their music. The spelling of Kloud with a "K" was a nod to the fact that both their names began with that letter. After shopping their music and being constantly told they should push their music in a more edgy and raunchy style, Kendall decided to look abroad for audiences who appreciated quality soul music. "I remember driving to work one day and pulling over at a grocery store parking lot and literally breaking down in tears," states Kendall. I felt so empty and unhappy and I knew I had to do music and do it at a level that would satisfy the desire in my soul. I called my job and resigned on the spot, bought a one-way ticket to London where I knew music had a different appreciation, knowing that being an American would open doors for me over there. I told my family that I would not return until I found an outlet to release my music. I realized I didn't have enough money to travel on public transportation every day so I bought a map of London, got numbers and addresses to all the indie and major labels in London and my game plan everyday for the first few months I was there was walking 4 - 5 hours each way for 20-30 minutes meetings. At one point I recall feeling rocks on my foot and looked under my shoe and saw I had literally walked a hole in my shoes!" During my time in London I met a producer named Ray Hayden who produced Maysa's first album. He allowed me to work in his studio to help him with production on various projects. I remember leaving his studio one morning around 3AM with not a penny in my pocket and knowing I had several hours to walk back to where I was staying but I was finally feeling happy again. I was creating music. It was through Ray that I eventually met Maysa and through Maysa that I met Incognito leader Bluey. Shortly thereafter we got a call from Expansion Records in the UK to do an album." Koud 9's debut CD ON KLOUD 9 was released in 2002 in the UK and was critically acclaimed. The album topped the UK Sweet Rhythms Soul Chart for three weeks and spent twelve weeks on Finland's Soul charts. Kloud 9's other UK releases include 2005's YEARNING TO LOVE YOU and KLOUD 9 PRESENTS THE VIBE ROOM, a compilation of Kendall's productions, both of which reached #1 on the UK soul music charts. ENJOY THE RIDE is truly Kloud 9's coming out event in America. The duo has been building a following in America as an opening act for The Isley Brothers, The Whispers, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and of course Maysa. They recently won a Soultracks award for "Best duo/group" and have been making an impression on their peers and mentors in the business. As R & B legend Walter Scott of the Whispers says, "These are some super talented brothers, no question about it. The world is gonna hear from them!" posted by April Sims / http://www.wearegreaterthani.com
