From that foundation, I pray for our marriages, our kids, and the people listening who are carrying real wounds and real pressure. Then we go straight into the home. Genesis 9 calls families to receive children as a blessing, and I share why I think the church needs to say that more clearly and more often. We also sit with Luke 5, where Jesus heals, forgives sins, and regularly withdraws to pray. That pattern confronts modern life: if we never step away, when do we actually listen to God? From there we talk culture and education. I react to current events and the way destructive ideologies show up in violence, then pivot to something practical: a growing backlash against constant screens and social media. I highlight ideas on rebuilding education and family culture, including real discipline that protects learning, reading aloud every day, praying together, eating together, and replacing “together on devices” with face-to-face conversation. Travis joined me to talk about how his studio and workflow evolved over time - from early audio-only recordings to embracing video, hybrid setups, and modern tools - while still staying rooted in classic recording approaches. We talked about recording bands live in the room, why Travis embraces bleed instead of fighting it, and how capturing the energy of a performance often matters more than perfect isolation. He shared how he'll use simple setups like a single M 160 ribbon mic on drums, how preparation and adaptability become critical when recording larger bands, and why letting musicians interact naturally can shape the sound of a record in ways plugins never will. Travis also broke down his hybrid workflow, using tape as a tone-shaping tool rather than a rigid format - running tracks through a tape machine for color before moving into Pro Tools for editing and mixing. From 2015 through 2017, her retrospective, Marilyn Minter: Pretty/Dirty, traveled to the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston (TX); the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver (CO); the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach (CA); and the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn (NY). Her video Green Pink Caviar was on view at The Museum of Modern Art, New York from 2010-2011.Minter is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant (2006) and the Guggenheim Fellowship (1998).
