Julius en Jasper bespreken welke mistige film beter is: The Fog (1980) van John Carpenter of Stephen King's The Mist (2007) van Frank Darabont.
What a banger of a doozy we have this week. Great ep. We read Stephen King's horror novel turned movie turned book again "The Mist". It's good! Stephen King is a good writer. Goofs include The Carny Lifestyle, saying "My Pleasure" at Chick Fil A, Scientology, how everyone in Maine loves to shit their pants, and more!
In Episode 1, Jennifer and Kaylia discuss Stephen King's The Mist (1980) and the 2007 film adaptation of the same name. A community besieged by a mysterious mist must face monsters... but the evil outside is only part of the danger. Dun Dun DUUUUNNN!!
Grab your galoshes, don your slicker... and then forget about both of those, they won't do you any good. We're talking about inclement weather on this week's episode of Nightmare on Film Street - but because we're a horror podcast - it ain't the weather that's going to get you down. Nope! It's the otherworldly, alternate dimension monsters of Stephen King's The Mist (2007), adapted by Frank Darabont, as well as the ghostly manifestations of sailors out for revenge in John Carpenter's The Fog (1980)! So grab your slicker if you want. In addition to the monsters.. there'll also be some water vapor. --- Website: www.NOFSPODCAST.COM (http://www.nofspodcast.com/) Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nofspodcast Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/nightmareonfilmstreet Facebook Page:http://www.facebook.com/nightmareonfilmstreet Facebook Group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/horrorfiendsofnofs Subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nightmareonfilmstreet/ Support the Show: Unlock access to exclusive bonus content and earn some other frightfully good rewards, including shoutouts, merch, and swag by supporting Nightmare on Film Street on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/nightmareonfilmstreet) . We are joined by TJ and Serenity of the hilarious Movies with the Mrs. podcast to talk about the quickly nixed 2017 TV series adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist! In preparation for Hulu’s Castle Rock series we thought we’d check out one of the prolific writer’s least loved television conversions. Is there enough material to make an entire series? Will we get to the mist in the first episode? Is it actually fog? Does anyone watch SpikeTV? We also talk about our favorite King miniseries, our loud neighbor Tom Hanks, Texan cow knowledge, hay forks, BUGS and Morgan’s very special connection to the show! And remember: the doctor says you shouldn’t be googlin’! Cut the Shit: Morgan - As Above So Below . Serenity - Hotel Transylvania 3 Soundtrack . TJ - Annihilation . Mike - The Stand Mini-Series Shoutouts to : The Story Behind, Hear No Evil, Films on Trial, Make it Stop If you enjoy the show please help spread the word by giving us a quick review on iTunes and sharing us with friends. After a storm ravages a small town in Maine, David Drayton notices an ominous mist gliding in from the mountains across the lake. He decides to head into town with his son Billy and neighbor Brent for supplies. Once safely inside a local grocery store, The Mist reveals itself to be more than a weather anomaly, it is the harbinger of death. There are monsters in the clouds, a result of Project Arrowhead, and as the days go on - and as religious nut Mrs. Carmody fires up the crowd - things inside the store continue to escalate into one of the most polarizing endings of this century. Stephen King's The Mist was adapted in 2007 by acclaimed director Frank Darabont, and will soon be reimagined as a television series. Therefore, it's the perfect time to dissect both the story and the film, modernize the concept, and even envision our own NEW ending for the controversial tale. It's time to remake Stephen King's The Mist RIGHT! Clips selected from the 2007 film The Mist. And in response to a letter from a listener, TC and Kim discuss how far is too far for a movie critic to go, and why the Boston Globe's Ty Burr went way way WAAAAAY too far when he revealed the complete surprise ending of Stephen King's The Mist in his review last week, spoiler alert or not. Finally, Awards Season is HERE!! You'll get this year's first Year-End awards list from Paste Magazine, and a review of a concert starring the Swell Season - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova of the indie smash "Once".
