Miland "Mille" Petrozza är gitarrist och sångare i det stilbildande tyska thrash metal-bandet Kreator. Han växte upp i Essen med en mor som flytt från Östtyskland och en far som kommit från det fattiga Syditalien för att bli gruvarbetare. Den första musik som Mille älskade var disco som Baccara och Bee-Gees. Han blev förtjust även i Kiss discoflörter men när han såg dem live 1980 fick han smak för tyngre musik tack vare förbandet Iron Maiden. Två år senare startade den 14-årige Mille gruppen Metal Militia som bytte namn till Tyrant för att sedan bli Tormentor och slutligen Kreator. Mille gick fortfarande i gymnasiet när de fick skivkontrakt och åkte på sin första USA-turné. Hemma hos mig pratar han bland annat om sin kärlek till Dario Argentos skräckfilmer, om när han fick besök av Mayhem långt innan de blivit satanister, om när det senare bandets ledare Euronymous fick honom att upptäcka Kate Bush, om Kreators legendariska spelningar i Fagersta (som bland annat inspirerade en ung Howlin' Pelle), om att ta hand om sin kropp för att orka headbanga, om nya albumet "Krushers of the world" och om varför det inte funkar att vara rasist och metalfan. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Baldy and Stu look back at the fourth Ashes Test between Australia and England, which saw the visitors secure their first victory on Australian soil in almost 15 years. We start the show by talking about our experiences of yet another two-day Test. For Binksy, as an English fan, was this a hollow victory since the series has already been lost? Or a joyous, historic moment since wins have been so hard to come by in Australia? We also discuss whether the narrative needs to change as Test cricket evolves - do two-day Tests have to be a disappointment? If we're given maximum entertainment, is that not enough to satisfy our hunger for the game? As the episode continues, the conversation inevitable turns to the pitch, plus the implications for Cricket Australia of such a short game. Are batters simply not good enough any more? Or did the groundstaff get this one horribly wrong? From there, we move to highlighting individual players, starting with Josh Tongue. What made him so successful on this surface? And did England miscalculate what was needed from a bowling point of view in this series? We also discuss whether Jacob Bethell's bright and breezy second-innings knock could spell the end for Ollie Pope. We also touch on Australia's batting, which, despite the 3-1 scoreline, still appears to have plenty of questions to answer. To round out the show, we look ahead to the options facing both sides for the final Test in Sydney, and what's riding on the match. I once had a conversation with someone about the craziest tours in the history of music…the usual names came up.   The who trashing hotel rooms…led zeppelin's tours with their private jet, groupies, and tons of drugs…that time in Atlanta when Ozzy drank himself into oblivion, passed out in the wrong hotel room for 24 hours, and missed a show as a result.   In 1976, ZZ Top tried to take the entire Texas experience on the road, which involved transporting real live animals to every gig…a buffalo escaped and managed to wreck nine rented limos that were parked at the gig.   Around the same time, there was the disastrous Sex Pistols tour of America…there were also stories about The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Van Halen, and all the usual suspects. But the conversation turned to the subject of the most depraved and dangerous tour of all time…who was responsible for that?... Motley Crue?...Marilyn Manson?...Oasis?   The debate when on for some time—until someone mentioned a road trip in 1993 that nearly killed every member of the group.   We're not talking about any sort of violence…it was a tour featuring so much alcohol, so many drugs, and so much stupid behaviour that members suffered heart attacks, seizures, serious mental illness, and overdoses so serious that one member was clinically dead for two minutes.  That was a summary of something called “The Devotional Tour”…at the centre of it was Depeche Mode…it has gone down in rock history as “the most debauched rock tour ever”.   This is episode 37 of “Uncharted: Crime and Mayhem in the Music Industry,” an inside look at the tour that nearly took down Depeche Mode forever…and it was all their fault.
