In this episode, we speak with Chasity Carter, Premier Athletics Columbia Manager, about implementing safety in the gym, communicating with parents and staff through COVID-19, implementing safety protocols and encouraging staff through this time and MORE! Chasity has been with the industry for over 20 years and shares her thoughts on managing a gym during a crisis and how to best encourage your athletes, staff, and even parents through this time! Key takeaways - 1. Education with athletes: teach athletes how to properly wear a mask before they enter the gym (reasons behind it) 2. Communication with parents: send out a video that explains how the new process for entering the gym will work -- being upfront so everyone knows exactly how the new schedule/safety precautions were going to work 3. Staff safety: expressing to coaches the importance of safety for the athletes -- a good example as a role model -- remember to encourage your staff 4. Staying positive: making sure the athletes are staying connected through this time -- this may be the one hour these kids have a positive light in their lives! Questions about the episode? In this episode host, Rebecca Bass talks with Lindsey Settlemyre, Allstar Director and Coach at Premier Athletics Knoxville West, about balancing life in and outside of the gym, especially during a crisis like COVID-19. Lindsey is a former Premier Athletics and the University of Louisville Cheerleader who has a lot of knowledge in the industry, but most of all she has a passion for teaching young athletes and works daily to make her Allstar program feel like family. Listen to how she tries to continue normalacy like so many others in the industry while dealing with COVID-19. Key takeaways -1. Goals for an all-star director - make the most of your season during this time, focus on the sport of cheerleading and dance outside of just winning, build a family atmosphere in your program (THIS TAKES TIME), and set the expectation for your members from the beginning. 2. Your athletes and parents should - trust you as the director, and clearly see your goals and vision for the program. 3. Try to make the best of this time virtually - learn things about your athletes that you didn't know before For any questions, you may have message us on our Facebook Page or Instagram account. In this episode host, Rebecca Bass speaks with Buddy Pearson, General Manager of Premier Athletics Gallatin, about parent communication in the industry. Not just that, they dive into how to best communicate with parents during difficult, unexpected times like the COVID-19 pandemic we are facing right now. Here are a few takeaways from the interview: 1. Create a sense of community online the best you can - with your athletes and family. Make them feel like they did when they were able to come inside the gym. 2. Be creative! 3. Don't take negative responses personally - everyone is going through a hard time right now so remembering that most responses aren't personal can help with customer communication! 4. Use ALL platforms to communicate - this means not just email but email, Facebook, Instagram, live videos - whatever it takes, use it all! 5. Being transparent is key in situations like this - keep the parents in the loop as much as possible aka communicate even more than you would before. This helps them feel like you are doing your absolute best to keep things moving for their athletes! 6. Utilize Zoom - whether it be for virtual practices or communication with parents, this app will change your communication frequency while your facility is closed! Listen as Buddy speaks about what it's like to be the general manager of an all-star cheerleading facility through all of this and how his customers are reacting to it all. In this episode host Rebecca Bass talks with Riley Sitton, the 180 Pro digital media director, and online influencer, about growing a brand online! She touches on how to utilize free tools online, how to figure out what works best for your brand, the best FREE apps to use to make your brand look professional and SO much more. Here are the key takeaways from the episode: 1. Brand Kit - have one! Create a brand guide and find your purpose. From there pick your colors, logo, and fonts and make sure each post encompasses who you are for longterm success. 2. Audience - Pick your audience by thinking about 1 person instead of a large group. Narrow down what it is that one person would want to see and base your posts off of that person each time you post! 3. Plan - Use a calendar to help you plan all of your digital marketing like emails, blogs, etc. not just social media posts! This will help you keep a clear, concise message each month. 4. Facebook Ads - trial and error! Choose targeted posts and never spend more than $5 a day when you are testing what works best for your brand. Think about what your audience is doing and base your ads around that. 5. APPS - VSCO, Unum, Snapseed, Picmonkey, Canva For any questions, you may have message us on our Facebook Page or Instagram account.
