In the age of self-love and body positivity there is an unspoken rule that we shouldn't say we don't like being outside of our healthiest weight and size. It's taboo to even broach the subject. Jill candidly admits that she is not liking being her current weight and teaches about the difference between self-worth and confidence and explains how to be grounded in self-worth with no desire to outsource it to body image WHILE admitting that a layer of our confidence can be affected by how we look--if it's not aligned with our true self. This episode is deep and powerful, without being heavy. ------------------ The Be You podcast is hosted by Jill Herman, a champion of women's empowerment, personal development, women helping women, and being yourself without apology. Various moments and flubs on the show over the past week.
“Hold your breath, make a wish, count to three”, because we got to the 1971 classic Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory with our bestie Jared Anderson. Arguably one of the weirdest children's movies ever made, and one we still can't shake off. When Charlie Bucket gets the coveted Golden Ticket to tour a mysterious candy maker's factory insanity ensues when the ticket winners start getting taken out like the cast of Midsommer. This movie almost destroyed Scott and Jared's friendship, over a bitchy social media post, but we're here to talk it out with Pete moderating like couples counseling. We're here to talk out what makes this movie moving, strange, and very much a product of 1970s filmmaking. Overlooked at the time of its release Wonka ended up getting a devout cult following in the 1980s thanks to television airings and home video. We discuss what exactly makes this movie “gay” enough to choose it for the pod, all the rotten kids at the center of the Wonka's morality test, and what our feelings are on the contentious Tim Burton 2005 movie with Johnny Depp. When reflecting back on Willy Wonka we are still ask questions about this movie's weird, but delightful tone. Is Mrs. Bucket's somber song "Cheer up Charlie” the most fast forwarded moment of our childhood? And more importantly why exactly does Wonka have this psychelic tunnel in his Wondrous Boat Ride? This might be considered part 3 of a series with Jill and her husband TK. This conversation is one they both felt the listeners deserve to hear because infidelity is rarely discussed with this much transparency, authenticity, and vulnerability. TK openly shares his personal story of infidelity in his previous marriage, what caused him to make such reckless and hurtful choices, how he feels about it, why he's certain he will never walk that path again, and how he balances self-forgiveness with owning his actions and the pain he caused. Jill, as a trained and certified trauma informed life coach shares interesting information correlating people pleasing and cheating (as crazy as that sounds) and why people are unfaithful. She also shares her personal experience as the wife of a man who has a history of cheating and why she trusts him implicitly. This one is a lot to swallow. It's raw, it's triggering, and it will bring up a lot in the listener who has experienced life with a partner who violated their trust. The nearly two hour episode is shared from a place of love. ------------------ The Be You podcast is hosted by Jill Herman, a champion of women's empowerment, personal development, women helping women, and being yourself without apology. It's so true that we prove the reality of our faith by our obedience. No doubt the Lord is calling to you - as He did to Saul. Bring It On was a pop culture juggernaut from the moment it somersaulted into multiplexes back in 2000. Audiences loved the saucy, sarcastic, scheming, and stuntin' squads battling for cheer supremacy at regionals, all leading up to that shining moment when the It of the title has been Brought and the cheer squads do their thing. More than two decades after that first film, the Bring It On 'verse continues with Bring It On: Cheer Or Die – and its director is none other than Vancouver filmmaker Karen Lam (Evangeline, The Curse of Willow Song). Bring It On: Cheer Or Die premiered on SyFy last October and is now available for free on Crave in Canada. The comedy slasher film takes some of the best qualities of the previous Bring It On Films – the quips, the flips, the regionals! – but this time, the Big Bad isn't another squad trying to steal their routines but a masked assailant who wants to end their lives in increasingly creative ways. In this boisterous and contemplative conversation, Karen Lam talks gateway horror, cheer camp, traveling with cats, and the joys and challenges of making a slasher pic in the Bring It On 'verse. If you've never been through divorce, you may not realize how someone living through it wants their friends to respond. When you hear about a divorce, it's easy to take sides and find a villain. But you've not been in the relationship and you really have no idea. You can be supportive without taking sides. Jill and TK give three ways not to respond to the divorce of someone you know, the only words, if any, that should be spoken and they share a raw behind the scenes look at their own divorces. This episode is like a part 2 to a previous episode with TK. It's not about what we did in this relationship to make it amazing. It's about going back to what happened before. ------------------ The Be You podcast is hosted by Jill Herman, a champion of women's empowerment, personal development, women helping women, and being yourself without apology. On this week's episode of the pod, we shift our focus mainly to the Champions League quarterfinal results and predictions for the semifinals (hint: we're polarized on Real Madrid, but not in the way you'd expect). We briefly touch on the relegation battle happening in the Premier League. Rheon seems to think Chelsea have a shot of going down (not really though). Cheer him up by listening to this week's episode! P.S. Apologies for the audio quality in the first 25 minutes or so. It gets fixed after that!
On this special Bowl Chat, the infamous Other Scott aka Newman aka our web guy who updates CerealKillersPC.com, chats with Andrew and does an Inside the Actors Studio asking him cereal and non-cereal related questions.

As tax season approaches Andrew and Scott are stressed about the deadlines and also have a few questions for the IRS...
In this episode, we'll finally investigate the new wave of powdered milk on-the-go cereal cups from Kellogg's and Post. Andrew couldn't be here today, so Scotty's picky daughter Cooper sits in. Take her ratings with a grain of salt, as she barely lets the Cocoa Pebbles, Froot Loops or Frosted Flakes touch her tounge!
Jill shares a transparent and honest look at how she used to live and be, compared to now. And boy, is it different. Most of what she used to judge or find strange is her current normal! Looking back she hardly even recognizes that former self. And if her former self saw who she is today, she knows she would have been shocked. We invite you to look at your own evolution and origin of your judgment with this episode. ------------------ The Be You podcast is hosted by Jill Herman, a champion of women's empowerment, personal development, women helping women, and being yourself without apology.
