On this episode, Antonio reminisced about his recent photo showcase, set against a brick backdrop that brought his images to life. Mark Reierson's touch made the difference in the arrangement. The chat soon hinted at future engagements, notably an artist talk and an exciting zine collaboration. Ward and Antonio's joint Street Shots zine, "Line of Sight," celebrates a collaboration of street photography. Crafted meticulously using the Miro app, the upcoming zine doesn't just chronicle their passion but will also support their podcast. Both are excited about upcoming projects: Antonio's nostalgic "11218+" venture and Ward's "Communities" project capturing Calgary's essence. They both revel in the idea of converting their digital captures into tactile memories. Finally, a recent outing saw Antonio lead a Scott Kelby's worldwide photo walk, favoring his iPhone 15 and dabbling with a new LIDAR-equipped Polaroid. Later, Antonio and Ward exchanged notes on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Impressed by its features, especially the "tetra prism", they also agree on one thing: Snapseed's app excellence, even if the desktop version leaves them chuckling about its quirks. How do you go from helping to keep our airspace safe to being the founder of an online community and sales platform for British-made crafts? Well, if you'd like to find out, then you need to listen to this interview with Susan Bonnar, who has set up and founded The British Craft House. There are lots of great takeaways and lessons within this conversation - from keeping true to your values and not letting your standards drop, even when you might be tempted to do so to the importance of building a social following and how that has really helped to build her online platform. This is a really good bottom up kind of interview from running away to join The Royal Navy at 17 to falling into business and how Susan started from very small, humble beginnings to now getting to the point where she has built a strong business that is scaling beautifully. Also what comes across so strongly in this conversation is that Susan has a really clear idea of where she wants to go. Susan emphasises the importance and power of her following – one of the things that separates business that scale from those that don't, is finding a way to generate a predictable stream of on profile leads. This is part of our fundamental thinking in our ‘Execution Habits' section of our InFlight Checks – you can benchmark yourself here https://executionhabits.scoreapp.com Susan can be found here: linkedin.com/in/susanbonnar https://thebritishcrafthouse.co.uk/contact/ Resources: Diary of a CEO - https://stevenbartlett.com/the-diary-of-a-ceo-podcast/ Happy Place Podcast - https://www.happyplaceofficial.co.uk/podcast/ Snapseed - https://snapseedofficial.com/ Adobe Express - https://www.adobe.com/express/ Scaling up your business isn't easy, and can be a little daunting.

It can be challenging for startups, nonprofits, and freelancers to afford the tools and personnel necessary to develop professional and sophisticated social media content. Today's guest, Erika Mayor, shares many of the free tools and platforms she uses as a freelance public relations and marketing consultant to help organize, create, and deliver content for growth. Erika was a journalist before her career as a freelance consultant. While working at a local TV station in Florida during the 2005 hurricanes, she realized working at the station was burning her out. Because the station worked closely with the Red Cross (because of the hurricane relief they offered), they offered her a job in their communications department. This started Erika's passion for nonprofit work. Because nonprofits have so little funding, Erika had to wear many hats. In order to get everything done that she needed, Erika started to use tools that helped with different aspects of her job: Canva is a phenomenal free platform to create graphics and different content. A scheduling tool like Later lets you plan out posts in advance so you can focus on tracking and extrapolating data from those posts. When it comes to digital marketing, video gets many more views than still imagery. Lumen5 and Videoleap are free video editing tools that help anyone create well-edited videos. Luman5 even makes video based on keywords with their extensive library of high-quality b-roll. Snapseed is an app that edits photos, adds filters and is available on both Android and iOS. Powerful project management tools you should use: Meistertask and asana keep tasks organized and help keep your team accountable as you work to complete different projects. Slack is an internal messenger app that leaves your email inbox free of clutter and less bogged down. For internal communication, relying on Gmail and outlook accounts will inevitably lead to things falling through the cracks. Erika uses these platforms to a high degree of success: She had a client in the transportation industry, and she was working with an agency to support this client. The topics were heavy, complicated, and difficult to understand. Erika realized videos would be the best solution, so she and her team created videos with Lumen5 based on existing blogs (utilizing the platform's b-roll) to generate content with better traction. How has she stayed in business? She spent five years working exclusively on referrals, so she didn't have a website or anything. Then she realized she needed to legitimize herself, She believes in paying it forward. So, if you meet someone who could benefit from using these tools, please share them with them. (You never know how much easier it could make someone's day.) Erika's book and podcast recommendations: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson The Midnight Library by Matt Haig (she found out about these on Tik Tok, but we won't judge.) Episode Summary: In this episode of Support is Sexy, Elayne sits down with poet, artist, and musician Morgan Harper Nichols to hear the remarkable story of how she got to where she is today. They talk about creating with intention, letting go of the how, listening to people's stories, and being open to the possibilities everywhere. The journey is told in such an open and beautiful way that some part is bound to resonate with you. Wherever you are in life right now, take a pause, listen to Morgan Harper Nichols' story, and think about How Far You Have Come. About our guest: Morgan Harper Nichols is an artist, poet, and musician who finds inspiration in the stories and conversations of everyday life. After starting her career as a college admission counselor she shifted into freelance music, and between performances, she designed art and turned songs into poetry. Before long one of those poems went viral on Pinterest, and just a few years later she became a Wall Street Journal bestseller with an Instagram following of nearly 2 million. She focuses on art that tells a story, and she uses her gift as a way of connecting herself and other people to a shared emotion. She has authored six books, she has her own website, an online shop, and blog, her own podcast, her own Youtube channel, and an app called Storyteller, where she posts inspirational words and art every day. Insights from the Episode: The importance of taking time to find what you truly love. Being intentional about things as you create them. Releasing yourself from the burden of the word “how.” How simply being open to possibilities can guide you towards doing what you love Resources Mentioned: How Far You Have Come All Along You Were Blooming Storyteller Storyteller app(ios) Storyteller app(android) Snapseed(ios) Snapseed(android) Stay Connected: Morgan Harper Nichols: Website: morganharpernichols.com Online Blog: Garden24 Youtube: Morgan Harper Nichols Instagram: @morganharpernichols Podcast: The Morgan Harper Nichols show Elayne Fluker Instagram: @elaynefluker LinkedIn: Elayne Fluker Support is Sexy Instagram: @supportissexy Post-production for this episode was provided by Podcast Laundry. When we are on a hurry or when we just make that last retouch to the photo before posting it to social media, we try to use easy apps for editing photos on Android phones. I have been a lover of Android since it beginnings. And you can ask me, what about Apple and iPhones, well I am not fully against those ones, but I feel more comfotable using an Android Phone. One thing that probably most of people, including me, want from a phones are good pictures. We can say that the use of those pocket cameras are left in the past, and now we can easily use our phones. Even using the smartphones as a replacement of big camera equipment. I have been a fan of Google Pixel since it release. Back then I moved on from a Samsung 5 to a Google Pixel 1. Of course, I wanted better pictures and better battery. The improvement on the image quality was a big jump. When taking pictures, I also sometimes wanted to d0 fast photo edition, and uploading the picture to the laptop to do a retouch on Photoshop takes time. Therefore I aimed to use different apps for editing photos. On the Google Pixel, I found out about Snapseed. It was a very easy and intuitive app to make editions on the images. Up til now, when I have the need to do photo edition, I still use Snapseed. There are other apps for editing photos on Android phones that are really useful as well. There are Adobe Photoshop Express, Adobe Lightroom, Canva and Pixlr. The good thing about those apps are that they are for free, or also if you want and need more features you might need to get the premium version. But for simple tasks, those apps for edditing photos are pretty useful. I have sticked with Snapseed, even now with my Google Pixel 3, because it is easy to use. I also have Canva, but instead of using it for photo edition, I use it more for visual content creation. But I also prefer Canva on computer, and also Photoshop.

We were single and had time for leisure. We were searching for the perfect cup of coffee and traveled to different locations. Using the opportunity of being in various towns, we took photos and edited them on our phones (iPhone and Google Nexus), then post to social media. Instagram's “Weekend Hashtag Projects” for motivation and for ideas. What we recommend: Use your phone if you don't have a camera. Find inspiration from other photographers Watch tutorial videos Listen to photography podcasts Read about how to compose your photos Choose a theme Which photography genre interest you the most — if street photography, go and hit the streets: always look up for a new perspective, shoot down low. Look for reflections, architecture, patterns, colors, etc. If you like Nature, go to state parks, lakes and waterways, national parks if you have any nearby. For portraits ask family and friends to pose If you have a camera — use automatic mode if you don't know how to use manual mode, shoot in JPEG until you learn how to shoot RAW. Play with it. Use your computer to edit the photos — if you have a Mac you can use the Photos app to tweak the brightness, shadows, contrast, etc. You can also edit with your own phone. Editing software/apps Lightroom (desktop and mobile) Afterlight Carbon is great app for black and white photography Snapseed, very useful and full of features.

We are finally out land of 16GB Devices. The iPhone SE comes with 32GB. Finally a new iPad - be it a bit of a ‘curate's egg'. The Product(RED) iPhone makes an appearance and we make time to ponder the meaning (or otherwise) of a slightly unusual Apple Patent. This and other episodes are available at iTunes | Opinion| Overcast | Google Play |** Direct Download | RSS | FireSide.fm | PineCast On this week's show: iPad 2017 v iPad Air 2 notes. iPad (2017) is notably thicker and heavier than the 2014-released iPad Air 2 and (2016) iPad Pro 9.7 Dual external speakers rather than the powerful quad arrangement seen in the iPad Pro models. All displays look identical but with the new iPad Apple has removed the anti-reflective display coating and fallen back from the display actually laminated onto the back of the glass as seen more recently. Also this modelHas no TrueTone and doesn't have the newest wider gamut screen. iPad 9.7 (2017): Apple A9 with dual-core 1.84 GHz (Twister) CPU and PowerVR GT7600 (six-core) GPU, 2GB of RAM- The A9 is what you get in a iPhone 6s and 6s Interestingly the iPad Air 2 has a Tri-core which is slower at 1.5GHz there is some talk that it's actually faster overall. Camera details: Same camera optics as the iPhone 5s! 8MP, ƒ/2.4 aperture, 1080p video, no OIS. Front: 1.2MP, f2.2 aperture, 720p video, no OIS iPhone Product (RED) Looks so much better with a black front facia. It's easy to accomplish this with a simple glass screen protector. Out of all the models this would be the one I'd go for. iPad Mini Didnt get any upgrades but still at $399 more expensive that the one they just introduced. Seemingly complacent about flogging old tech. Would you have to get a new docking station? Would it just be a screen powered by an iPhone? You'd probably not want to use the iPhone as a trackpad. Is this the ARM laptop? Is Apple aiming to make iOS the consumer choice and macOS the “pro level” one (even if we can't define what “pro”even means). This episode was recorded 22 May 2013 live and in person at Adobe's offices in Fremont in Seattle. You can download the m4a file or subscribe in iTunes. (Or subscribe to the podcast feed.) John Nack is Principal Product Manager, Adobe Digital Video. He has a blog (definitely worth reading, especially if you use Photoshop) and is @jnack on Twitter. This episode is sponsored by Microsoft Azure Mobile Services. One of the cooler features recently added is the ability to create custom APIs. Originally you were limited to standard operations on your database tables — but now you can design any API you want.
