Wallace puts a twist on ideas and concepts that amuse him, and hopefully you as well. All performances are improvised and unedited. more info at www.actorbrianwallace.com
The California Voter Information Guide was recently published, and I've decided to highlight some of the lesser-known candidates for US Senate. If any of them get more than 10 votes, I'll have to consider a political career. I think I could get around 11. Apologies for the disruptive background noise in this episode... I recently made some changes to my recording space, and there must be a screw loose somewhere. Rest assured, there will be a several loose screws on the ballot June 7. When a couple moves to California, one of them is bound to go through some changes. Seems like that's the only thing you can predict. Just be gentle. www.actorbrianwallace.com
In the year's first episode, about two hipsters lamenting the passing of David Bowie, I originally included a joke that I then decided to take out before the upload. But in the spirit of springtime, I'm sharing it here-- but only with loyal subscribers to the podcast. So let's keep this between us. It's what hipsters would do.
Bernie Sanders wants to provide the country with free higher education. Until that happens, wouldn't it be great if college worked like this?
When David Bowie fans meet Facebook, the performance really begins. And don't dare call yourself one unless you've got the underground Hello Kitty sessions featuring Ray Wifflewax.
It's that special time of year when every nonprofit arts organization hits you up for more cash than usual. So as an antidote, here's an innocuous little jab at the vernacular Shakespeare movement, and all for free. Happy New Year, give generously, and don't be a stranger in 2016. www.actorbrianwallace.com
Back by popular demand (and procrastination)! A totally improvised riff on A Christmas Carol, featuring: 1. Bob Cratchit 2. The Ghost of Christmas Past 3. The Charity Solicitor 4. Marley Music by: Trans Siberian Orchestra, Doug Hammer, Is This Love, and The Ethiopians For more info, subscribe via iTunes and visit www.actorbrianwallace.com
You can't be too careful in what you say. Words might not mean what you think they do anymore. Also, we investigate reports that (after)life in Heaven might actually be a drag.
Trying to improvise without using any 4-letter words (like "well") and reading the NY Times comments section with a straight face--it can be a real challenge sometimes.
The gay marriage standoff continues in Kentucky, and there's no law for miles. Sometimes it takes a stranger on a horse to set things right.
MTV held its video music awards over the weekend, and the NY Times covered it on the next day's front page. Here are some of my favorite reader comments published with the article.

For anyone who has listened to the "Je suis Brian" episode, you might think I've begun to repeat myself after only six months. But this installment actually represents a departure of sorts for the Splash. I wrote a comic sketch about ISIS operatives (yes) for a television contest not long ago. And it's another take on the themes I explored back in January. I suspect it has already been discarded by the powers that are, but I really liked the scene and didn't want it to go to waste. So I thought I'd use it as material for the podcast. Besides, it was suggested that I register the sketch with the WGA, but that would have cost me 3 buck chuck money. So at least this proves that I actually wrote it. I also performed it too. Hope you like it. If so, please share with your friends. As always, you can find out more at www.actorbrianwallace.com Thanks!
I'll come clean, this episode is "mostly" improvised. Creating a story about a songwriter who won't say ANY words that are four letters long required me to have more than one run at it. But I think it's my favorite episode yet, and I hope you like it too. For more info, visit www.actorbrianwallace.com, or subscribe via iTunes. Thanks for listening!
Up to now "A Tidy Splash of Wallace" has been totally improvised. But when you encounter what we might broadly call "a technical difficulty"--maybe a second take is in order..?
If you're like me, you're kind of tired of seeing that guy's YouTube ad, boasting of his "new lamborghini, which is fun to drive here in the Hollywood Hills." But it serves as a *reminder* that I'm going to be at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival May 5-10, where I'll workshop a new play. And so I offer insights as to how you can enjoy the same sort of life I lead.
Spring is in the air, and Easter is around the corner. So A Tidy Splash of Wallace is back with the story of a church stage mother who wants to make her baby a star. Only she forgot the 11th commandment: that sequels are rarely as popular as the originals. All performances are improvised and unedited. Enjoy, and make sure to follow me @WallaceWaxes and visit www.actorbrianwallace.com for more news and updates.
An extra tidy splash for Presidents Day Weekend. Improvised and unedited, recorded live, as it happened. Also as it happens, I'm doing a reading of a new play in Los Angeles this Monday, Feb 16, at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. "The Cruise," by Jonathan Ceniceroz. January 20, 2015 It's my birthday, and this is my gift to you. A satirical take on issues raised so far this year. This episode includes three tracks: 1. If a blind man draws an image of Mohammed (on the radio) does it still count? 2. A jihadist art critic. 3. The business of protest merchandising.
