If we ask most believers who their Lord is, they will say Jesus, but if we ask them who their master is, and they are being honest, the answer might be different. In today's society we have many masters, our career, our house, our family, but Jesus is to be our Lord and Master. This is one of my favorite of the names of God. Jehovah Sabaoth means, the Lord of Heavens Army. This name, as many of the others, speaks of God's protection over us. As we study God's word, we must do the work of keeping it in the context of the whole Bible, we can never put our own interpretations on it. If you believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, verbally inspired Word of God, then how can you put your fallible interpretation on it. The Bible must be studied in the context of the entire Bible and taken literally. In Matthew 12:25 Jesus said, " Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart." He was using this to explain that He could not be of Satan, bu the principal still applies. Any house divided will fall and that is what has happened to His Church. We are divided into different denominations and subgroups that there is no way we can be effective.
