This is Week 1 of our new series, More Than Enough.
“When it comes to kids and families in our community, we don't have to settle for not enough.”National estimates show that, in recent years, roughly 300,000–400,000 children have been involved in the child welfare system at any given time. Statistics like this, while helpful, can sometimes cause us to slip into a scarcity mentality. We may worry that we don't have enough resources to address such a large need. Or, we might assume that if we're not able to take up the role of a foster parent, we don't have a meaningful role to play. Our guest is on a mission to help us understand the truth: that there is more than enough support we can offer to children and families before, during, and after foster care.Jason Weber serves as the national director of More Than Enough for CAFO. He is also a podcast host and author. Jason and his wife, Trisha, have been helping vulnerable families and children for over 29 years, with 10 years spent as foster parents. In this episode, you'll hear why it's important to focus on the statistics in your own backyard, the importance of operating as the unified body of Christ to offer support from every angle, key elements for impactful collaboration, and much more.Find the show notes and links to anything we discussed here: https://riversideproject.org/podcast/jason-weber-43

In this episode of the Foster Friendly podcast, host Brian Mavis and co-host Travis Vangsnes engage with Jason Weber, a seasoned advocate for foster care and co-founder of the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO). They explore Jason's journey into fostering, the challenges faced in the foster care system, and the importance of community collaboration. Jason emphasizes the need for unconditional love and support for children in foster care, while also discussing the vision of 'More Than Enough' to ensure every child has a safe and loving environment. The conversation highlights the significance of building relationships and working together to create effective solutions for vulnerable children and families.Checkout all the great resources at More Than EnoughGrab a copy of Jason's book: Until There's More Than EnoughTakeawaysJason Weber has been working with vulnerable children and families for 28 years.Foster care is about restoring families, not just caring for children. The journey into fostering often begins with a personal commitment to serve.Collaboration among community members is essential for effective foster care solutions. The Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) was formed to unite organizations working in foster care and adoption.More Than Enough is a vision to ensure every child has an ideal placement.Children in foster care need unconditional love and support from their communities. The government alone cannot solve the foster care crisis; it requires community involvement.Building relationships is key to successful collaboration in foster care.Love is defined as doing what is best for another person, regardless of the cost.
WE cannot talk about MORE THAN ENOUGH without talking about the source of all that MORE: God's generosity. Here's our key passage for today's Talk: Jesus said, “Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them… Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.” (Matthew 6:26, 28-29 NLT) Talk 2's life-changing message: Trust in God's generosity
The title of the Talk is controversial. But it's not just the title—this entire message is controversial. It will shake you to your core. Welcome to the last Talk of our series, MORE THAN ENOUGH. Our one big message for today is connected to our series title: Pray for more than enough. In today's talk, we read the Bible verse where we got the phrase, more than enough. You'll be surprised where we got it from and what it actually means.

Thank you for listening to our Surge Church Podcast. We are called to be salt and light to the world. Having resources and how we manage and use those resources has so much to do with being the salt and light God desires us to be. This requires that we move beyond the Gospel of Just Enough and realize we serve a God of More Than Enough. Righteous Living is not Small Living, it is Surrendered Living for God's purposes.
'More Than Enough” is a deeply felt and honoured poem and has been read to many a woman more than can be counted. This poem is an embodiment of a healing sacred declaration, a soul cry wrapped in divine affirmation to her 'Beloved'. It carries the rhythmic essence of survival, the cadence of healing, and the voice of a woman who has walked through fire and emerged clothed in grace. It speaks to many a wounded woman who can stand up, take one day at a time and boldly put one foot in front of the other and pray themselves into a place of healing and restoration. I truly believe that no matter the whirlwinds of life, through soul poems and soul writings and soul whispers we as women can navigate well to come through stronger on the other side. Phenomenal Woman was written and published by Maya Angelou in 1978. A phenomenal woman herself who etched a pathway ahead of her time becoming world renowned leaving big shoes to fill. "Phenomenal Woman" is a powerful poem by Maya Angelou that celebrates self-confidence, inner beauty, and the strength of womanhood. As you tune in today, be courageous be bold - stand firm and believe that You too are - Phenomenally, A Phenomenal Woman out there and that You too are - More Than Enough.'More Than Enough” is a poem written by Self-publish Author/Co-author, Poet, Storyteller and Inspirational Speaker Salomé Jacobs in 2018. Thank you for sharing and tuning in.Abound in Grace, under the shelter of His wings@Into The Garden

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9–10 NIV11-GK)
