Crafted Commentary - Cold Take Pure Project's 5 Year Anniversary Quintuple IPAOh boy, for this special Crafted Commentary Cold Take (mini-episodes devoted to the first try of a beer), we had Pure Project's Shadow Of The Moon.Info below straight from Pure themselves!https://www.purebrewing.org/story/For our 5th anniversary, we wanted to challenge ourselves as a craft brewery and push the limits of our fermentation skills. Coming in at 15% ABV, this murky quintuple IPA is the strongest beer we have ever brewed at Pure Project. Featuring our five favorite hops–Nelson Sauvin (Freestyle Hops, NZ), Strata (Indie Hops, OR), Mosaic (Loftus Ranches, WA), Citra (Wyckoff Farms, WA), and Cashmere (Gooding Farms, ID)–Shadow of the Moon is a true celebration of hops and the farmers who grew them. At 8 pounds of hops per barrel, this is easily the most heavily dry hopped beer we have made. The result? A subtly warming and stunningly smooth brew bursting with notes of ripe pineapple, honeydew, and a whole lot of dank. Cheers to five years!San Diego Beer, Craft Beer, SDBeer, CraftBeer, Best Craft Beer Podcast California
WE'RE BAAAACCCKKKK!!!!Crafted Commentary Episoder #2 - Skiing, Snowboarding, and Beers of New England, with special (and probably frequent) guest, Justin!!!!Guest: JustinThis episode is all about beers from Vermont… or at least, New England (social media handles later in the notes):Alchemist Heady TopperFrost Beer Works Plush Double IPALawson’s Finest Liquids in Stratford, CTThis episode was shot in the late fall of 2018. Things have changed since then. Some of the beers were sent t to us by our friends from the Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate. Since we didn't have a crystal ball, we didn't know Rome would be sold a few months later and the founders, one of whom helped get us these beers), would move on. Great people at that brand regardless. We back them. They were my first client when I went solo, before co-founding my PR firm (www.remedypr.com), and I’ll always be grateful for that opportunity.Oh, some of the Heady Topper was donated by my man Hugh Reynolds (https://www.instagram.com/hrocker/).Also, we talk a lot about Mammoth, and the first time we talk about Clock Tower bar, I call Kyler Tyler. Kyler is one of our favorite Mammoth locals, an excellent shredder and bartender, and is a Test Pilot for June Lake Brewing, a brand I had a small part in helping out in their early days.
