This time, Rocket Punch gets their flippers loose as we chat with Stephen Young, the creator of Pinball Undesirables! Stephen stops by and talks to us about his awesome endeavor with Pinball Undesirables, a streaming channel dedicated to streaming pinball for anyone interested in watching and listening to him play.

This time, board games are making a full swing, as the Rocket Punch crew get to sit and chat with Carla and Nick Kopp, the creators for the popular up-and-coming board game company, Weird Giraffe Games! Carla and Nick swing by to discuss how they found a passion for creating board games and starting Weird Giraffe Games while on a road trip, the intricacies of their board game design process (which could be useful for any game designer), their experience getting more and more familiar with the Kickstarter platform, and the work that goes into iterating again and again on a project to make something one can be proud of. Even from the start, when they were told that "making board games is so easy to do", they both knew that it would be nothing but, and they still continue to stay up late figuring out their next big idea for a breakout board game. It has been a long time coming, but a new episode of Creator Spotlight returns! This time, we get to sit and chat with someone that the Rocket Punch crew has been wanting to talk with for a while now: a cosplayer! In particular, we sit down with Danielle Craft of The Winter Robin Cosplay to talk about the exciting and increasingly popular activity of cosplay! In this episode, Danielle talks with us about how she was brought into the cosplay world, the work that she must put into to execute on each of her costumes everyday, and how sometimes, you just have to dress up and have fun with your friends, and forget about others that may look to criticize you. Plus, we bounce back and forth with her on the specific topic of the state of cosplay in the world today, and what that means to her personally, as well as what difficulties she (and others) have had to overcome to pursue the activity they enjoy. If you are looking to cosplay, or are already deep in the activity, then you should definitely listen in to this fun, yet thought-provoking episode!

Due to some illness, it has been a while since our last episode, but now Creator Spotlight is back in action, and this week, we get to talk about a popular activity on the internet: video game streaming! Chris Scott from Credible Threat Gaming joins us in this episode to talk about how him and his friends started their venture in streaming and content creation, from their humble beginnings to the hard work they put in every week to provide awesome content for Twitch and Youtube viewers around the world. We also discuss more about Chris and his efforts to build up the brand, including the melancholic family events that drove his convictions to make Credible Threat Gaming happen, the challenges of working on a large project remotely with other members, the lofty ideas that he hopes to implement to the brand in the future, and more. If you are interested in becoming involved in streaming in any aspect, then be sure to not miss this informative and introspective episode! 

For all of the geeky content and great projects we have talked about on Creator Spotlight, we have yet to talk to a comic creator and publisher. Until now! Aspiring comic creators out there should take notice of this week's episode, as we sit down with Julian Jay Burton, the CEO of local comic publisher, Red Crow Comics! Many writers and artists out there may be trying to figure out how to break into the comic world and work with powerhouses like Marvel and DC Comics, but for Jay, he decided to take the road less traveled, and started his own publishing company to create the stories and heroes he wanted to share with the world. It has (and still is) been a hard road to travel, but Jay and his team have done an impressive job building Red Crow Comics and releasing their first creations to the public! Join us today, as we sit and talk with Jay about starting his own comic publisher, his challenges in getting started, and finally realizing his creations on print for the first time! 

Our next Creator Spotlight is a fun one, as this week we pull a very special sport from the pages of Harry Potter, and bring it into the real world! Harry Potter fans should be pretty excited, as we chat with Jared Leggett about the local Quidditch team (you read that right) starting up in Huntsville, AL, The Rocket City Quidditch Club! You may be wondering how the game of Quidditch could somehow work outside of the pages of your favorite J.K. Rowling book series (believe me, I was wondering the same thing), and we asked Jared to drop by and talk to us about how exactly Quidditch works out in the field, his experiences playing this crazy and intriguing sport, and also his plans and drive to bring a Quidditch team to Huntsville. Bring out your beaters and get ready to listen to one of the wildest sports available for you to play (as long as you can stay on the broom!)

In this latest episode of Creator Spotlight, we get to talk board games! We were able to sit down and chat with Dennis Hoyle, the man behind Bellwether Games, an up-and-coming board game company. Since the surprising events that led him to pursue a career in board game creation, Dennis has hit his foot to the gas pedal, and has found great success creating brand new board games for people all over the world to enjoy! With a few successful Kickstarter campaigns giving him experience and opportunity, Dennis has been able to develop new and unique board games that people cannot get enough of. Sit back, and listen to his story of how Dennis got to where he is, and all the hurdles and victories along the way!

We know it has been a while, but we are back with a brand new entry in our Creator Spotlight series! This week, we spent some time chatting with Nicholas Compton and Austin Smith, the duo running the awesome event for aspiring game developers in the Huntsville, AL area, the After Hours Game Dev Group. These two driven individuals have worked hard to build and grow a place for interested and like-minded people to come together and learn more about game development, and also give an easy avenue for them to network with others within the area and build off of each others' successes within the development space. This week, we spent some time chatting with Cameron Jeffrey, also known to everyone in the artist realm as The Black Rabbit. At a young age, Cameron discovered that he had a knack for artistry, drawing, and storytelling, and decided to build on that knack and see what would happen from it. We're pretty sure he never expected to go from those humble beginnings, to becoming a well-known artist around the Southeast United States. Cameron has spent years developing his style and passion for his art, and it definitely shows in his pieces, so of course we were excited to get the chance to sit down with him and discuss how he got started and what drives him to continue his creative pursuits!

This week, we could not hold in our excitement to have the opportunity to chat with Jeffrey Parker and Zac King, two members of the cast and crew filming the Star Wars fan film, Star Wars: Battle of Rocket City, right here in Huntsville, Alabama! Once hearing about the Star Wars Fan Film Awards coming up within the next few months, Jeffrey worked hard to bring together a brilliant cast and crew to make this fan film set within the Star Wars universe a reality, and with submissions coming up soon, Jeffrey and his team are working tirelessly to create an excellent, memorable film that fans around the Southeast, and the world, will surely enjoy! Greetings, and welcome back to our next story in our Rocket Punch Creator Spotlight series! This week, we were super excited to sit down and have a chat with Richard Moss, the owner of a new local restaurant/bar/arcade hybrid, located within downtown Huntsville, Alabama, called Pints and Pixels! After looking at cool, nerdy places that other cities around the country had, Richard took matters into his own hands, and with the help of some talented and knowledgeable people, including an awesome locally owned restaurant, Richard has opened up the first, and one of the coolest, restaurant and arcade spaces in downtown Huntsville. Richard is incredibly ecstatic to open his business to the people, and we were just as thrilled to get the chance and talk with him about how he decided on this concept, the challenges with bringing it together, and what his plans are for the future of Pints and Pixels!

Welcome back to the next installment in our Rocket Punch Creator Spotlight series! This week, we got the pleasure of sitting down with Matt and Amie Gibson, two Huntsville locals and owners of Pixel Perfect, a company they started to create Perler Bead pixel art for nerds everywhere! What was once a small hobby they both enjoyed under their own roof, Matt and Amie "perfected" their craft into a unique and creative endeavor that they never expected would become such a booming success with the geek and gaming community in North Alabama! Rocket Punch was humbled to get the chance to sit down with them and talk about Pixel Perfect and why they enjoy creating such fantastic pixelated pieces for their fans!

In the first ever Rocket Punch Creator Spotlight, we sit down and talk to Halley Martin, a young woman from Huntsville, AL, who had an inventive idea with her friends to help get some money for a trip to DragonCon, but did not expect what that event would turn into and how big it would become!
